...OK this one kind of came out of left field.

Was working on creating Leela's Daughter Annika with Zev0's Growing Up morphs and G2F when a question on another thread arose about making coloured fog. Since I already was in 4.6 with a file in progress I thought I could run a quick experiment to check it out. So I loaded Nerd3D's Fog Tool and began playing around with it not only changing the fog's colour but making it glow as well.

To show it off better I decided put a set (Lune Portail) in add some lights and render...

...well still needed something for the background so loaded in Castello del Diablo...then a zombie...a couple more lights for ambience...some glow flies for her to chase..toss it into GIMP for a little postwork....and, well this cute yet creepy scene came to be.

Really nice, but yes creepy render KK :) she seems to not have realised the danger yet.. poor girl

I do like what you did with the fog too... might look into that tool some day *ponders*

...thank you. Kind of a retake on the old Frankenstein scene.

As to the Fog Tool, beware, it does have a major impact on render times but by the same token, is better than trying to postwork fog in especially if it flows between objects in the scene. As it is not "volumetric" it can also be used with other items that have transmaps (as can be seen with the grass and plants on the groundplane). It can be a bit tricky to use as it employs a series of planes to give the illusion of depth so one has to remember to orient the planes perpendicular to the camera's line of site for the best effect. there are also morphing adjustments, style adjustments and one can also adjust opacity (and in the case of what I did diffuse colour and ambient level) in the surfaces tab as needed.

Nice... Looks a little toxic too ;)

...yup, in 2062 the Northern Toxic Zone just south of Edinburgh is not a place to tread around casually.

Annika's a tough little girl though, a real tomboy with an uncanny resistance (and a both mum who packs a rocket pistol and grandmama who has a reusable MPRL in a coat closet....just in case).

The Parkside was certainly not the prettiest ship in the fleet.

And if Scotty thought the Excelsior was a "bucket of bolts" good he never saw this one pull into a spacedock.

Some theme thought bubbles perked up...from the 70's (flashback or mini-stroke?)

DAZ "Studio54" We need the 70's night scene. Bring Disco back to life. And wig Makers wouldn't a Fro be cool?

Back in the day I recall a discotheque near flatbush in NYC that was called Club Circus... OMG what a freakzone even the flys on the wall couldn't handle the eye-raising activity and constant bass pulse. Think cirrus-circus with go-go girls in animal cages.

Remember the cool game with that 70's "pulp fiction" atmosphere - highway 76? I can see why the developers chose that theme and cool cell shading way to render it.
