Although it works in some other catagories, the extra 10% for a new item in the cart is not working for Genesis 3 items They are the same price with or without a new release.. DAZ was super quick to fix the earlier glitch; wonder if they will be as fast to fix this one.

Missed it, but good to know it is okay to take advantage of glitches when they occur - I had thought they would try and reverse the transaction.

It's OK to take advantage, but not telling Daz so they can get it fixed would seem a bit unsporting.

Soooo, if I spill the beans, some people will be sore; if I don't spill the beans, I will seem a bit unsporting. Mmm. Does Daz issue coupons to whistleblowers? It could work wonders on my guilt.

Lol, you shouldn't feel any guilt. I highly doubt your post 'tipped them off'. Anyone with ATI's emails would've seen it immediately. Furthermore, I'm sure whoever does the pricing updates has a view into real time sales numbers.

I liked it when this thread mentioned glitches. Sure, Daz fixes some of them quickly, but others take time to fix. I usually don't have time to go hunting for them with shopping cart jenga, but I do like to keep an eye on this thread.

From what I've seen, Daz actually seems to use this thread to discover glitches. One glitch that hadn't been reported lasted for days, someone commented in here and... poof, gone in minutes. I wish they were as alacritous when the glitches work against the customer.

Yep. There was a glitch just yesterday that wasn't mentioned here and it lasted all day.

I'm glad I made you laugh. I was joking too (well, maybe not about the coupons). But believe me, if i was the guilty type, I would have died of shame long ago, with all the money I saved on glitches through the years.

Nah, don't feel bad. You can't please them all ;) It's not your store or your responsibility :)

My maths is so bad that most of the time I wouldn't know if I was taking advantage of a glitch when shopping, especially given Daz's convoluted sales conditions. The other side of this is that I wouldn't know if I was being clobbered by a glitch when shopping either. I'm pretty sure it all evens out in the end, and if it doesn't it will tip in Daz's favour because they've got the keys to the store and can constantly make adjustments to compensate in ways that I can't. I'd worry about individual vendors going short because of the glitches though.

Honestly?  They should implement those "glitch" prices for Gen4, Genesis and Genesis 2 items.  (I can see excluding newer figures.) I had MANY old items (over $100 worth) in my cart before the glitch went away. And when it went away, I dumped the my whole cart -- with absolutely no intention of picking those items up again at the current prices, not now, nor in the future. I shouldn't be complaining -- Lord knows, I don't need any more content -- and the discounts are very good. But there is simply no way I will ever buy those ancient things at the prices they're still asking, even though they are undeniably heavily discounted.  I guess, from my perspective, DAZ just lost $100+ of sales that will never happen unless prices drop to the levels they were at.  I know PAs make a living on their back catalogs, but I think PAs sell their products to DAZ when they become DAZ originals, and therefore the PA is out of the equation anyway.  As for DAZ, they wouldn't lose money (from me, at least) when placing those very ancient items on rock-bottom sale -- they'd profit, because I'll never buy them at the prices they're currently at. I would, however, have purchased at the "glitch" price. And I can't be the only one who feels this way about those products.  They are years old, and since they're DAZ originals, they're on sale every other minute.  They're also almost universally NOT Iray compatible and most have low-res textures that don't hold up well with close-up rendering.  I can use the items, but only with a lot of TLC getting them to properly fit on my newer figures and updating textures and shaders for Iray.  I've had many opportunities (with my PC discount) to buy those things on sale for 72-78% off, and I've passed on them -- many, many times.  I'm a sucker for a bargain, though, so a rock-bottom sale will get me opening my wallet.  Any money going to DAZ from these sales might be miniscule, but if the discount is deep enough, it will be money that I will never otherwise spend because this age-old content will otherwise never wind up in my cart.

    Just my 2 cents.

I have a couple of Victoria 3 items in my WL that I would buy at 80+% off, but they've neveer been that low, or I would have them...

We are probably going to get a new major character this week; so, I'm trying to save my pennies. But I sure hope they do a different giveaway promo than the same old tired bundles they used on the last one. I'm running out of things to get.

Even with 3Delight they don't look good with close-up rendering. Some of them became freebies at one time and some repeatedly over the years. Selling them at 90% will bring profit to Daz and happiness to old and new customers.

This glitch did last nearly 2 hours, which is pretty impressive really.  And DAZ certainly made money off me with it.  Splitting up the bundles, I spent $90.38 on 40 items that I had no intention of buying beforehand.

you know what the worst is? if i had leisurely indulged my laziness and my greed today early morning (8am here in europe is when daz "days"/sales change) instead of doing all my chores first (i have a cat tribe, takes me about 3 hrs just for the basics), i wouldn't have missed it. "work first, pleasure later" / "enjoy some fun after a job well done"? my elbow... XD

I'm sure Ati will approve. You see, he's the real beanspiller whistleblower. He sends info on glitches to the masses (including Daz, probably) but does he get the blame? Nah, he's too subtle for that. Still joking, guys. Blaming and groaning is just not part of my psyche.smiley

So the question begs as a community here, which do you feel more loyalty to, the community members so they can get in on the glitch prices, or the company AND PAs that make it all possible, Or both since you are a decent human being,......or none, hmmm, tough call. devil I actually do feel some responsibility to report glitches when it comes to PAs losing money, especially since I do commercial 3D work in other places and know first hand the frustration of not getting paid for the time you invest in development.

I guess I try and report glitches and promote DAZ offsite so others that seldom shop here can take advantage of Flash Sales and Good Deals.

Honestly I was up late last night filling my cart and did not realize there was a glitch. I was just too tired and figured I would finish shopping in the morning. I had about 2 dozen items all opened in their own tabs for review... this morning the prices jumped and I dumped 30-40 items and kept 2.

How would you report a glitch, if it is true that Daz doesn't read the forums regularly, and submitting a help request takes at least a day or two to get human attention? Do you post in the forum and rely on forum moderators to tell Daz through some more direct channel?

Report.    A PM only goes to the one Mod,  A post made, say to this thread,  and then flagged as a report would go to all members of the team so it would be noticed much quicker, regardless of the time zones as we try, as far as possible, to have 24 hour coverage between us.

As an IT professional as well as a loyal customer, I find this ludicrous. Why should customers have to report glitches at all? Or PAs? Or mods for that matter? Would that happen on Amazon or anywhere else? No, it's not their job. It's up to the people running the website to actually TEST the stuff first to make sure it works before setting it live. If you're having sales that push the limits of the store software like DAZ does, you should have test servers in place to make sure it's not going to break stuff.

On the live side of things, this a webstore, like any other online. It's open twenty four hours a day. There need to be IT people monitoring the store and fixing things when they go down. Seems like spending some extra $$$ on the IT budget around here would save many thousands lost on "glitches."

There have been some prettydramatic glitches in other stores over the years - at least some of which have not been honoured.

I have noticed sometimes if the discount does not apply and I just use my back button and refresh and then back to cart it does update the price.  Not sure if it is related to the above issue but it works, I can say from experience with the shop given I have shopped far too much that I have seen a price glitch approximately 5% of all of my purchases which I will shamefully keep to myself that actual number ;s
