When it works, it makes cloth move and drape much more naturally. It tskes some practice though
What do you mean by normal physics? The only dynamics in DS before this was the OptiTex plug-in, which were limited to the special OptiTex content - dForce does not require proprietary tools, though not all content will work successfully.
how will you know what content will work with dforce clothing?
Try it and if it explodes or falls apart (tho if it falls apart there are things you can do), then it's not possible. Poser dynamic clothes seem to work fine and there's now a whole crop of dforce clothing in the store. I've tested some of Lully's dynamic clothes for Poser with dforce and they performed very well.

The more complicated the shape and the layers involved, the less likely it is to work, is the short answer.
