I've only done one contest here and I'm still licking my wounds from bombing so miserably. lol But I do want to start doing more contests so I'm glad I found this thread. Subbed! :)

Don't feel bad ..... your just starting, I've been playing with 3D for years and still bomb almost every contest I enter. But IMHO the practice of completeing a project to your best ability is invaluable.

True that. :) If nothing else it's practice and can help one improve, as you said, so it's probably worth joining the contests - even if I probably have no chance of winning. lol

Sept 10th (midnight, Daz time) is the deadline for entering the 23rd Carrara Challenge linked above. Might not be obvious from a quick glance.

I like to enter various contests because it forces me to work with a tool, or within a genre, or with a piece of content not of my choosing. In addition, several contests offer a chance to observe the techniques of some of the amazing artists that frequest the forum, depending on whether a work-in-progress thread is encouraged. Those are my favorites. I always learn a lot even though my final products don't generally reach what I was hoping for. Folks on the forum are very supportive.
