Nice ones!
@ Tallulah`s
Poor girl, left dragon might eat her, middle dragon might poison her, right dragon might sell her some drugs. ;)
Still trying to figure out what easter eggs have to do with all of this...
@ Aidana`s
Well done, your best work so far imo! Nice feel of scale and depth.
@ Kerya`s
I like moody images, and am always happy to see road to hell being used. Great posing, love the dragon lingering in the background.
Oh, well in that case...
This thread is awesome. It persuaded me to buy all the EEs. (The sale on them certainly made the decision very easy indeed.)
For the record, I use Poser Pro 2014 and render with IDL and gamma correction. Because of GC, I always make material tweaks to every prop I load (a script called Scenefixer makes this very fast and easy), and these sets were no exception. After spending about 2 minutes making a few minor material changes, they render absolutely beautifully. (If I hadn't used GC, I probably would not have needed to make any changes).
Thank you so much for making these. And for making them Poser compatible!!
Wicked card Jodel ! Two up, three down ...speaks to me ;)
Thanks for the feedback Velvet, I am glad you are happy with the sets.
You are right, they are made for use without gamma correction, to keep older poser versions compatible.
Started work on a new set today, mercy times are over ;)
Yeah!!! A new set being created ... Yeah!!!
can`t believe it either ;)
a new render in which I use one "old" item by Jack Tomalin together with a skybox from an easy environment set by flipmode :) I think these two fit perfectly together :)
Agreed, looks like a single set!
Great image, well done :)
They also work well for closeups. I needed a ground for my dragon and nothing looked right. It was either pixelated or looked too fake when I zoomed in.
So I tossed in the EE:Road to Hell.....perfect ground. :)
Thanks for posting the image DLD, very nice, the color scheme works great. Such nice glowly lava scales :)
Very glad you like the grounds, I try to keep them pretty high res.
thank you :)
Thank you Flipmode.... Jaderail.
Look forward to more sets Flipmode. :) See what happens when you make great products.....you just have to keep taking $$ from us!! :)
A WIP using HWire's Horse with the Kirin morph, and some texture kitbash, which still needs a lot of finetuning. :red:
I really love the Easy Environments, because they give you a sense of "complete" with just a few clicks.
Heres one I just finished using the FM Eternal Sands. If you have any suggestions to help with my lighting please feel free to say so....lighting is not my friend lol
Looks pretty good, Kharma, except I'm not sure if the shadows are going the same way in the foreground as they are in the background. (I did this a lot until I realised why some scenes looked a bit weird.)
Easy way to make sure they match:
Look through the Sun light at your scene.
In the Scene tab, select the Skybox, then in the Parameter tab change its Cast Shadows setting from Off to On. You'll now see the Skybox through the camera view.
Still in the Parameter tab, use Y Rotate to turn the Skybox until the sun is pointing right at the camera. (Note that some of the skybox and light sets load like this to begin with).
Back in the Scene tab, parent the Ambient lights and the Sun light to the Skybox. Reset Cast Shadows on the Skybox to Off.
Switch back to the camera you want to use for your scene, and now you can rotate the skybox and lights together, so that the background shadows and the light direction always match.
Thanks for posting the new renders lee_lhs & Kharma, strong horse day, I like both a lot. :)
SpottedKitty ...good advise there, parenting lights to nulls or geometry is a great thing on DS.
The lighting presets I add to the scenes always have the sun direction adjusted to the scene-skybox, so unless you move the skybox it should be a good starting point.
However the skybox-only preloads usually have the skybox in a neutral position which in most cases won`t fit the lighting.
Kharma, imo the lighting on the sand is a bit too bright, over-exposed (might feel different if the skybox was in line like Kitty suggested).
It looks perfect on the characters though. In such a case I would tweak the lighting to fit the environment, and add a close spotlight (no shadows) for "balancing" the character lighting.
That aside... new easy environment should be finished soon, I hope to have it ready to submit to Daz early next week.
Spotted Kitty and Flipmode thank you for the feedback on my lighting. I am trying your suggestions today and see if I can adjust the lighting to better fit in the scene.
Hi So I followed your suggestions for the lighting and I do think it turned out better, I did have to start all over as I somehow forgot to save the last scene. I have been looking at this all day and its started to look like a big blur so please feel free to critique it from a fresh view :)
Very well done Kharma, big improvement from the previous version imo. Actually, the lighting looks perfect to me now.
Talk about blur, I`ve been doing lighting for the next set since yesterday, I don`t see anything on my renders anymore either ;)
The shadows definitely look better and more consistent, I think.
Incidentally, this trick can also be adapted to check if an environment light texture is properly aligned with the direction of the light. If I remember (been a while since I did it) the only major difference is you need an extra camera to look at the environment sphere from outside, the look-through-the-light technique can't be used in this case.
Early next week, hmmmm. Just in time for my paycheck :D
I have ANOTHER request, lol. I'd like some severe snow scenes. I love the other winter EE, but when doing high fantasy scenes, those severe snow capped mountains look more ominous, IMO. Sorta similar to the new Bryce package on sale right now.
Thanks again flipmode and Spotted Kitty for your help and input on my render :)
The Outback works fine for aliens ... or "Short Stack" ... LOL
Cute!
Does his (its? her?) hair intentionally mimic the grass? It looks like a survival strategy. ;)
*giggles*
Yes, that was intention - I even moved that grass around to where it is now to show that.
Hehe, well done ...that was the first thing to catch my eye, looks really funny :)
it`s evolution baby :)
I am patiently awaiting the next EE set. While I wait, this is my latest book cover using EE Eternal Sands (http://www.daz3d.com/easy-environments-eternal-sands).
While I am thinking about it, I tend to use the road or path provided because I don't know how to change the trail of footsteps to more than one trail; as if there were two people walking side by side, or an animal being led, or a group of people, or even vehicle tracks. How do any of ya'll do that with this set, if you do.
Hey! There is a add-on product idea for you, FM. Extended tracks and such for the environments that would show one's passing.
