I didn't know what to do with the Badlands outfit either, so I made myself use it. I was sort of thinking Mad Max type image but then I passed the wings in my props while browsing though them and then this happened. I'm probably not going to get a lot of use from this outfit, but at least now I can say I used it once. :)

Got the Pro Bundle and started throwing stuff into the image. An outfit here, a pose there, an expression - hey, that looks like the hero of a romance novel! OK, Lakeside Folly might fit. Afternoon lighting, needs some spots for glow and shadow, a little bloom in the render and top it off with a randomly generated romance novel title.

I think Darius 8 is amazing. I looked at DAZ's great offer, but got totally confused. Then I just moved on. So many of DAZ's sales just confuse me.

That actually looks pretty good. But I'm still not sold on the Badlands Gladiator Outfit.

My solution was to hide it in DIM. I won't bother downloading and installing it as I can't imagine ever using any part of it.

Wow, personally love this! Wonderful render and depth of field, and I for one really like the badlands outfit! Haven't convinced myself to spend the 66$ for the pro bundle (I have no discounts, since I only own pieces from the 6 & 7 bundles) - I'm reallllly tempted though... Hm, this image has really tempted me.

Some very minor postwork, just some tweaks with NIK and adding the signiture. The materials are mostly default too: some very minor tweaking of the teeth, (adding some bump and tweaking the diffuse color a hair) some more serious tweaking of the eyes, (I'm still not entirely comfortable with the new eye setup) and, of couse, usinng the translucency medium preset

 

I really like his texture and face shape. He's just... really good looking. Well done Daz. Less a fan of the body shape (big pecs are my scourge)

NIK is really great or adding some photolike qualities, particularly things like defocus and adding chromatic aberation. Though it does feel a bit weird adding things I desperately try to avoid when using my camera

 

To the second bit, I have about 50 million projects I've started. One day I might finish one. Time management: not my greatest quality.

I really need to fully set up my current favorite lighting setup. Did you know if you organize your lights in groups (groups not nulls, why did I not learn of the wonders of group nodes over nulls sooner?) you can use property hierarchy and set things up so you can control all of your lights from one root node? Its great, even just just the ability to turn off and on multiple lights at once (of course creaing a bunch of empty properties and hooking everything up is exquisitely boring)

I didn't know that, that's cool. Lights are still something I kind of avoid -as I find them a bit clunky to use. I stick to mainly HRDIs and for indoor scenes I make the "light props" emmisives. I'm lazy, so if I can get lighting set up without having to fiddle with trying to set up lighting rigs, that's the way I'll go. lol

As for your projects - maybe pick your favorite two and stick with it until they're done? lol I'd love to see more of your work! :D

LOL yea, I didn't really like it either, that's why I made myself use it. I like the challenge, now it's kind of growing on me. I primarily like to render sci-fi or fantasy so I maybe I'll use it again one day.

I usually customise characters a lot.. but I'm not sure how much I'm actually going to change!

I have it but haven't had time to try it yet.  I'm wondering if you can turn off that fabric and just be left with the leather straps around his legs.   Afterall, the leather straps wrapped around him appear to be holding that ruffled fabric in place.  Ditch the fabric, keep the leather???

Hafta say I really like Darius 7 if I'm looking at them like this.  Darius 8 looks like he's at the counter in starbucks trying to decide on a vanilla or a caramel latte.

funny Sapat, he does look very thoughtful and that is a very hard decision. lol
