...hehhehheh.
...thank you.
Yeah, scary when you get to our age. I just sat there for a few momwents making sure nothing was broken (easier to happen the older you get) before letting a fellow help me up again. This is why if I see the advance forecast calling for icy conditions, I stock up and prepare to hibernate. Also why even at 84,000$ (and less) for a house with monthly payments less than the cost of a room in a shared setting here in Portland, I have zero intention of going back to Milwaukee. Once my SS flips over to full retirement (and hopefully by then I'll have my retroactive disability), it's most likely the south of Spain for me.
..crikey, the Net is slow today. Not just the forums.
Morning. Is substantially cooler today but seems to be some flash floods innner city, cab isn’t moving, traffic is total gridlock and radio is shouting out conflicting advice on what to do. Am 1/2 hour late for meeting but other party isn’t answering phone so going to install earbuds, listen to Mussorgsky and let the world figure out what it’s going to do next. That is my complaint nao :)
That is disturbing somehow...
I noticed that Daz3.com has been slow lately too.
it'll be better.
deciding if i should pick up peppermint schnapp or butterscotch. dunno what christmas eve will be,

Get some sleep, man! Your health is more important!

I love a good Flintstone reference!

Light does not escape a black hole, so you can't see it! Maybe you can see evidence via its surroundings, or the gravity lens effect it causes.

I think black holes suck up everything around it, am I wrong?
I want to play with Aiko 3 but she is not installed. bummer.
Cab carried me home after a while, apparently nothing is moving on roads cos there are power lines down everywhere and flash flooding in the ‘burbs whisky tango foxtrot slept through all of it, our place is all good and quite cozy but looks like my year is ending as it started - in total chaos which somehow has left me unscathed. Is Wednesday here, the last Friday before Christmas might have come earlier than expected yay :)
You're right, everything that gets closer than the event horizon is beyond the point of no return.
Thanks :) Going to grab a bit more sleep now while it is cool :)
...and on that Friday about 20.15 local time here I'm another year older.
...meh...
Up here in northwest NSW, the last two weeks have been constantly mid-high 30s (celsius), we've had two thunderstorms in two days and neither cooled things down
, they just started a few grass and bushfires. We don't seem have the luxury of water falling from clouds.

Storm season here next to the shipwreck coast, thermal lows suck cold air in from Bass Straight so it blows hot and cold, well, cool, often this time of year. Right now is a hint of sea on a cool west breeze - or maybe someone left fish bits in a dumpster again...
Listening to Vienna Waltzes, imagining old school ballrooms :)
About 19 hours behind across the dateline here :)
....agh almost midnight and someone in the building burned a pizza or pasta sauce (that's what it smelled like on the 4th floor when I went past on my way down the stairs), setting off the fire alarms again. With my sore knee and ribs I had to take my time going down the stairs. Worse it's a really foul night tonight, cold, damp, breezy, and rainy, to stand outside waiting for the fire dept. to arrive and check the building and then turn off the alarm system before letting us back in. Fortunately I hadn't turned in quite yet (but was about to) and was still fully dressed.
This is the third time in four months (not counting days/evenings when I wasn't around).
I just fear one of these times it will be bad enough to set the building's sprinkler ssystem off and there go my computers, bed, records, and books..
It's like my credit card balance at an on-line auction.
Non-complaint: Yesterday was a good day. I finally got my car completely dug out of the snow. Temperatures had warmed up enough that I could easily push the gloppy snow off of the car and the landlord had plowed the driveway, so getting out wasn't difficult. I was able to do my uptown tasks, I delivered my customer's new computer to him, although I got hooked into a two hour free housecall to teach him how to use Windows10, and to configure his 9 year old wireless router (eventually discovered that it needed new firmware) he paid me by check so I went to the bank to cash it. I had a gourmet meal (Burrito Supreme, green beans, and rootbeer) at Kentucky Fried Chicken (Yum!). I also picked up three of their chicken breasts to bring home. I dropped in at the drugstore and bought some semi-quality chocolates on sale to have for Christmas. I stopped at the grocery store on the way back and using my credit card I bought 4 times my usual amount (don't want to run out again this winter), and besides, since I shopped on Tuesday I got my 5% senior discount on a large total.
It was so many bags that I broke down and asked the stockboy to help me get it all loaded into the car. I was able to drive halfway up my inclined driveway without slipping on the ice & snow and stopped right next to my porch. I was slowly able to get all my groceries out of the car and onto the porch. I was then able to drive the rest of the way to the back of the house to park without slipping. Yea! Then it took me about half an hour to get all my groceries into the house and packed away on the shelves, refrigerator and freezer. I was totally knackered. My knees hurt, my back hurt, my feet hurt, but the house was warm, I have chocolate, I have egg nog, I have FOOD, and I have cash. All in all it was a good day.
Oh, and the best part of the day was last night. I had seen an advertisement for an on-line auction for loose gems with no minimum bid. I didn't figure I'd win anything affordable but I logged in at 9:00, right at the beginning of the short auction and there was NOBODY else on line.
I wasn't greedy. I picked up a pair of nice looking rubys for $1 !!!, and about 6 other gems and semi-precious gems for a grand total of $11 (a few people had made absentee bids of $2 or $3 on some of the gems). Were they perfect gems? No, of course not, I could see that they had some flaws and others were probably removed from old jewellery because some of them had chipped edges, but for the price you couldn't beat them. I have a little display (2.5" by 4" mirror well lit by a tiny white LED spotlight) where I put my collection of loose gems and now I have a nice pair of rubys and some examples of unusual semi-precious stones to add to it.) Yea!
I dreamed last night a man bit my shoulders. He was a vampire.

which body part is the end of the ik chain on Genesis 3?
Actually, on Friday at 20:15 PST you'll only be one day older, which (unfortunately) you've been doing daily at 20:15 since birth. At least, that's how I tend to look at it. They say that age is only a matter of how you feel. I'm giving Methuselah a run for his money.
