Just bought an office chair for my computer desk.
Never, but never, order a chair online. Lay an eyeball on it in a store first!
Furniture is not returnable once it's been assembled. Which is how you find out if you want to keep it, duh!
Fabric feels like a cheesegrater, and collects dirt like crazy which has to be vacuumed out.
Armrest supports have sharp inner edges that cut into thighs. Goes great with the ol' cheesegrater to the elbows!
Sure looked nice in the photos...

I think I'll give it to my sister for Christmas. Maybe she'll stop talking to me then.

...yeah I need an office chair, one with full back support.  Seen a couple nice ones at a second hand shop for decent price, just not sure how to get one to my flat as I don't have a vehicle or drive and they don't deliver.

At Starbucks near the library as I got a five dollar Starbucks card yesterday.  I forgot to bring lunch to the library.  Now I am eating a bagel and after that a cake pop

I had that 45 when I was a kid. I used to play it at 33 1/3: sounded like a trio of grown men singing. laugh

...sunny day here but cold. Looks like a somewhat uncharacteristic dry spell for this time of year ahead. Going to be windy starting tomorrow through Thursday which will make the chill all that much harder to deal with.

Was going through a number of "Top ten" videos about Portland last night.  Every one which dealt with why you should stay put and not move here mentioned the ridiculous housing costs and rents here.  Also saw one on the ten worst cities to move to and yup, my old hometown of Milwaukee was one rated 6th worst, mostly do to the high percentage of people living under the poverty line there and chronic low wages.

  • Yeah, Milwaukee is hurting, bad. I can tell because I could afford to buy a house.

...as I mentioned earlier even on my Social Security I could almost afford one like the one I posted about over on east Howard Ave.  There are also a number of foreclosures in that area (old Town of Lake/St Francis/Cudahy) which cost even less but they usually require some degree of fix up which I am unable to do any more.

The one good thing I wouldn't need to worry about finding a job as I am retired. Not sure if Section 8 loans are still available there.  Here Section 8 has been closed since August of last year.

Good afternoon.  41f and raining, so hiding indoors.  Wanted to take out recyclables but yecch and brrr, forget it!

It's turnip cooking day!  Going to cube two turnips, air fry with olive oil, and serve with mayo.  I'll post on how well it worked.

Still lazing out - haven't had a decent, relaxing break in years.  Optometrist hopefully in not too long.  No insurance since no contract, so I need to get a cash estimate before I visit this guy.

Hope everyone is going well. :)

Turnip wedges! Was going to serve wit mayo but thy're too tasty on their own!

Cut 2 turnips in wedges about 1/3 of an inch thick.  Put in a bowl and tossed with spray olive oil. Placed right on basket of air fryer set to 300f, cooked in 15 minute bursts until brown exterior and soft interior.  Let cool and serve.

I'm very happy with the way they turned ouit, I could see making garlic smashed turnips in the future, and it's great food for cold weather.  Nom nom nom...

Next up, Brussel sprouts!  Going to slow roast them and then add soy sauce. Veggies all day!

Pretty sure it is.  Last time I checked it was at my local theatre.  I recommend checking your local theatre before going out.

..51° and sunny here.  Windy on the east side, not to bad in the city though.   Off to do the mid week market run in a bit. Need to get organic chicken breast and veggies for another big batch of curry as nighttime temps will be below freezing.

Hit 30's  at 6 am today, and the winds are blowing stuff everywhere (can't imagine how how that will affect all the fires here in Southern Cal) but the plexiglass and computerized heaters worked! The outside aviary is warmer than the house and the the newborn gouldians and doves surived the night. laugh
