Complaint: Number in the thread title is getting dangerously low!

Misty: I got one of those helicopters a few years aho - great fun once I got the hang of it! laugh Sadly its final resting place was high up in the branches of a tree.

Runs around screaming, oh my oh no!  Got to finish Christmas shopping!

In reality I am procrastinating on a shower.  I am also sitting on my messy bed while on my tablet browsing the Daz Forums.

I do want to thank the people that noticed that I was absent for a while.  My healing is not going well but I'm here.

But I am going to be very quiet because it seems that opinions on anything other than the weather or what one eats are dangerous.  And I know that there a several people around here who detest me for speaking honestly.  Me thinks there are too many people with hyper-sensitive beliefs.   cheeky

woes, those toy helicopters i giving for christmas take x6 AA batteries a piece, for the controller i think.
i should give a starter set of batteries with them. ouch moolas.
wanna see playing helicopters this christmas.  hoping is not a windy day.

cant remember if the re-chargeable batteries are alkaline or lithium.

tee hee, giving the upstairs dennis the menace kid trailmix to leave out for santa's reindeers.

Alkaline batteries are not rechargeable.  Some try to, but it's dangerous and ill advised.

You tellig Santa to hit the trail?  laugh

    Dana

Actually, there were some rechargable alkalines made a few years back, don't know if they're still available. I don't think they compared well to nicads.
Used to recharge regular D-cells by touching them for a few moments to a pair of jumper cables, just to make the flashlight last long enough to finish the emergency repairs. You could tell it was just right when they would double as hand warmers. Good times.

Non-Complaint:  Cakeday tomorrow.  Will be 27 yrs old, and there will be cake and soda. Also cake. Hope some family will be able to come over for a bit too, but if not then it'll mostly just be cake and soda - minus people to share it with...

    Happy Birthday!

    Happy birthday to you!

    Thankies~

    Why does misery love company?

Tends to vary on the individual and the situation I guess,  but with me when I'm miserable I love having a friend to talk to - much better than being alone, bored, and miserable.

It is cloudy outside.  The sun was out for maybe an hour.

The forum was blank for a second.  Maybe the server was really slow.

Been busy and not posting much, but I noticed.  I hope thigs get better for you.

As far as opinions...you know what they say, everyone has one.  Don't be too put off by them.  I've not seen anyone complain.  Of course, if they went and told "mom" that they didn't like something you said, well...maybe they need to grow up.  Nobody is forced to read what you type...and as far as I know, we can ignore someone in this forum and you will never see a post by that person again.  Is that still true, or is that another feature that dropped away with the newest forum software?

...hmm maybe staying in expensive Portland instead of buying one of those much more affordable homes in Milwaukee may not be a bad idea. Cold here (mid 40s) but not as bad as it is back there. At least it's sunny and dry, while they're expecting the white stuff as well.

    ski?

Taken today at the Ski centre on a web cam  archived at  lunchtime. 12:00 lunchtime.  Because it is a busy road junction into the ski centre they do keep the roads clear.

2nd image is the same camera, same time yesterday,  and 3rd image is same cam but 7 days ago,

It's too dark to see anything now,   but it has snowed twio or 3 times more during the afternoon, and now has been snowing since about 6:15pm, it is now 9:00 pm  so there should nearly be enough snow for skiing up there.     We normally don't expect snow here till Jan or Feb.

I do not want to go to work tomorrow but might have to use weather as an excuse for tardiness.  I dropped my bath and body works glass bottle of lotion at work today.  I am going to get a writeup because I dropped it again during an inspection.  I should have either put it in a plastic bag after I dropped it the first time or thrown it out. I put it in a paper bag to see if bath and body works can give me a discount on a replacement bottle.  My complaint is why do they have to put it in glass bottles?

Pen y Fan,  highest mountain in the Brecon Beacons range, it is 2,907 ft above sea level.   We are slightly lower, in the foothills of the Brecon Beacons ranges at 1,200 ft.

That is exactly why...so you'll break it and come back and buy more.  Many bathrooms have hard tile floors, so breakage is expected more.

Also, don't forget, glass is recyclable.  Some plastic is as well, agreed, but more plastic ends up polluting our environement and endangering wildlife.

I recycle as much as possible.  And for those things that hold 2-paks of juice, or those six-pak things, I cut each ring so there is nothing to get caught in.  Then I put them in the recycle bin!

...yeah, on my last market trip I wanted to pick up a quart of milk for hot cocoa. I noticed that the store brand went from using a traditional carton to a plastic container. When I checked to make sure it was recyclable I saw a note on the label that mentioned the plastic wraparound label had to be taken off first and discarded (in the rubbish) before recycling. I ended up buying a different brand that was in a traditional carton even though it cost 0.15 more. Out in the Pacific there is a huge floating island of plastic refuse and tonnes of discarded plastic wash up on our beaches here on the west coast every year. What happens is some countries simply take it out to sea and dunp it there.
