    ok 1 last issue before i start mapping
    how much detail is needed? there is an issue with the angle of the headstock causing strings to collide withe the tuning pegs

    Oh ... no worries about that. It won't be seen in the scene and if I ever do show it this close, I can fix something like that in post.

    had to ask cause i tend to be a perfectionists
    ill get the mapping and materail zones done in the next couple of days

    had a few minutes today and got the materials zones done
    tonight ill work on the mapping and digging up the textures

    the modeling is done
    if you want it with just the material zones i can upload it tonight but the actual materials will take a bit longer because i got into a bit of a pickle
    ive sprained my right wrist and being right handed my work is all on hold till after i see the doc on wed.

    Well. I can probably find the materials on my own. It's about time I learn to anyway ... lol. How to I make a map?

    the mapping is already done and saved as .tga files for the zones
    ill pack it up and upload now

    Sadly I must inform you that my husband will not be finnishing the models he was working on. All of his projects are stalled in completion gor 6-10 weeks. He is as stubborn as a mule and tried to work with a broken right wrist, and now need surgery to repair nerve damage.
    His doctor believes the damage is minor but will not know until the surgery. He appologizes for the inconvienece.

    SP, I just wanted to show you the finished piece the lute was planned for because I didn't want you to think you had left me hangin'. As luck would have it, someone found me an old, old prop, that had no texture, but would get the job done :D

    I need a DNA molecule. I mentioned it before, in a separate thread, thinking I'd be able to find people who knew where some were. Unfortunately, none of the ones I was lead to open in DS3, so I might need one modeled for my needs.


    This is for a book cover, as most of my custom requests are, so I'm willing to negotiate a fee. PM me if you want to talk rates. :D

    EDIT - I thought I better add a little more info. I need the helix fairly detailed and recognizable. It has to be able to handle a full sized V4 posed in the center of it. It's a scifi novel about cloning.


    Here is a link to one I was led to before that I liked, but it didn't work. I don't know if it didn't download right or what. But the description mentions that the colors can't be altered in anything but 3DS. I would definitely want to be able to alter colors and hide various parts to suit the design.

    Update on my DNA molecule woes ... lol:


    I finally got the model from DA to load in Daz, and can alter the colors using the surface selection tool. But now that I merged another helix into the scene, the others do not allow me to alter the colors. So weird. Anyway, I'll work with what I've got ... lol. A decent artist can make it work, right?

    Just realized I forgot to show you guys how I made the helix work. I only managed it once ... lol. And no idea how I did it, because I couldn't duplicate what I did to make it work in Daz.


    Luckily, being the AD at that house, I get to make the call to alter the original concept ... lol.

    Looking for a pine cone ... not a tree ornament, but a realistic pine cone. I am assuming one is available nestled within another product, but searches bring up a dud. Any ideas?
