Beware the Ides of March First of April. There almost invariably is a joke offering.

Yeah, I felt sorta slighted that here I am buying everything I need/want during March madness and you give me the gift card discount AFTER I did all that buying,
To spend it on what items that would be left? They didn't do anything to adjust the Runtime DNA offering- so THAT banner lost all value 5 days after it came out.
Who, at this point would STILL have items on a super-ultra-discounted-pennies-a-purchase-runtime-composed-wishlist?
Really? Somebody saw and old dress from the 80s, knew they could get it for 68 cents, do some magicand freshen it up BUT WAITED 3 weeks to see if it goes down to 48 cents- cause you, know, that's the better deal.
I thought-
1) They would increase the SKU range to include more/better items so we can get excited about what items are now also part of the deep dish discount. And someone like ATI for such could scan ahead and see what the range growth was and point out items coming up for great discounts.
2) Change the fastgrab more often (Every day like it says, hello) so that there's a new place to look - for stuff to get....
3) Something free everyday to get EVERYONE to at least check in with Daz to see what it is. That would make everyone visit the site everyday and while they're here....
4) Give me something better than 10% as a PC+ member. That feels like a normal break and not very special- maybe 10% for EVERYONE, 15% + for PC memebers,..that includes giftcards for the ENTIRE month. Not 1 day sprinkle so we' hope I have cash that day' sorta plan.
5) Put the ENTIRE vendor's catalogue on sale. Aeon Soul has only a fraction of their goods on sale. A lot of them had only some of their stuff on sale. You're a featured vendor, you ought to have EVERYTHING you sell on sale.
6) Made the discounts scrolling and mounting so those that spend more, get more. Instead they are rewarding those that didn't spend. Even putting EVERYTHING on sale to catch up again- hate to say it, but the catch up deals shouldn't be as good as the initial offerings. You get a break, but not enough to make it your permanent strategy. Next year, I aint, buying anything all month and I will wait till the final weekend, with the gift card discount and buy everything in one swoop. And basically won't need to show my face until....um....March 30th. lol, not lol.
7) I still can't figure out the discount schemes. I just still put stuff in may cart and see what happens. Take stuff out and see what happens. I get the "buy three of these and get..." but all this 40% for Newly ot Still + additional 20% if you...get 10% if you...I look at the percents and work them out in my head and DAZ actually OWES me money for buying something. lol.
8) The best system is to retun stuff. Might as well return the figure and get the bundle, now that Daz sweetened the deal. Might as well return that, becuase added with THIS is triggering a better rate for everything in the cart. Specially whn there isn't something left in that group that I want. I got lucky that I'm building my first library so almost everything could be used and I got special needs. lol. BUT- it becomes smart to return something I already bought just to basically get it again so I can bundle it with the new discount that requires two or more from here or here....I only DON'T do that cause I'm not that guy and I have a crush on their tech support.
From my understanding, from talking to DAZ CS, the Fast Grabs are done by the PA's themselves, DAZ doesn't control those. That's why you tend to see way less during major sales events, because odds are most of the artists already have most of their store on sale. It's also why the time frame for things remaining in Fast Grab can be so strange. Sometimes a day, sometimes several days, sometimes a few hours. I think sometimes a PA will leave a Fast Grab up just until they make enough sales to pay the rent and then pull the fast Grab! I've noticed this a few times when Fast Grabs appear near the end of the month, and the fast grabs dissapeared rather quickly. (I could be wrong I don't know if PA's have access to real time sales data.) But hey, everyone's got to pay the bills so I don't blame them if thats the case. So if its a good item I grab it fast.
I don't think comments about offering a gift card so late is fair. They've made the gift card offer SEVERAL times during the sale. And very good discounts on it, too.
Yeah, I kind of see it as a way to let us top up the tank before the last stretch. So I appreciate that they offered it. This is the 3rd gitt card I've bought during MM, the other 2 were at 37% and 32.5% off, so I'm not complaining. This one gets me just enough to get across the finish line.

There's been a 10% gift card discount all month and several other sales like this one. I assumed this was for, y'know, April. It's not like they stop releasing content once the sale ends and there are several likely-to-be-expensive high-profile products soon.
The hundreds of customers who only check in once a month during big sales so that they can manage their budget better. :-)

I'm a bit confused by this. Featured Artists do usually have their entire catalog on sale. Certainly Aeon Soul has 100% of the products listed at http://www.daz3d.com/aeon-soul at 40% off. Sometimes there are non-sale items in a vendor's catalog because they're PC+ items and subject to different rules.

You're SUPPOSED to do this, if it's what you want to do. I spent over $100 on Aeon Soul THE DAY BEFORE some one-day sale discounted everything a bunch more if I bought Rawart's wings. You can bet your bundles that I bought the wings, opened a ticket and asked them to refund the difference. They did. It's what keeps me coming back here.
Although this sale didn't blow my mind... I don't think I let my bonus buyer lapse once through March - so I imagine Daz isn't unsatisfied with whatever contribution I made to their bottom line. :D
No, no, no. The gift cards were BUNDLED with a purchase. Don't count that as a standalone offer or 'discount on giftcards'.
You had to BUY something to get those percentages. Not at all the same as YOU SIR, you sexy beast, due to your banner being up the entire month, here's you NEW discount tier - YOUR giftcard rate is X+a new X for the REST OF THIS MONTH. Make it tied to what I spent in total and I have a scrolling reason to keep buying more...and more....and more........
Even today's rate is still required that I buy something EXTRA to save on a card to BUY something else. That's gangsta, where I come from.

I'm glad it's a Friday, but I got 1 day to spend my load to get some cards. One little window....if I was away today or didn't check in or be pressed to buy something, I'm screwed...as opposed to 'I've done enough to not have to lurk every minute of every day.'
Well now I want ANOTHER card. What do I do? Buy two more things I don't want just to trigger that discount? Very unfair.
AND I don't always have my entire budget available. Or the amount I want to spend fully decided upon- it's based on what's being offered. Didn'y know I wanted that Magic 101 city set till I saw it. lol didn't know I'd want EVERYTHING from Stonemason or The Antfarm until I used one of their products.

And at this point, I'm buying too much stuff to use it all anytime soon. So some things I am taking a risk and using the pro and ad-speak to convice me of what it's potential could be. I got that Advanved Spotlight and only learned after it's 3Delight rendering engine only. Saw Reality render and thought a NEW engine was released. A bunch of things returned. I had to empty my cart from all the Cararra and Poser items.lol Also stuff from.....IBL maybe something like that- some kind of lighting rig that's incompatible with iray. Man, I wanted those....
I haven't mastered lighting yet, but I grabbed some iray lighting add-ons so overall, I'm good, but I wish the gift card aspect was implemented differently.

And any gift card you get today because you happened to be buying 3 new releases (or whatever).... you ARE allowed to use that in April. Or May, or whenever the urge takes you. You don't only have one day to spend it. :-) As the title says, There's always another sale....

Just so you know, the gift card balances never expire. This was a point of confusion for me when I first started buying them, as I was afraid to buy too big a gift card when they were heavily discounted, in case I couldn't use up the balance in a year. But only the gift card CODE expires in a year. In other words, if you don't apply the gift card code to your account for some reason, then yes, that unredeemed gift card code will expire in a year, and you will be SOL. But once the Gift Card code is redeemed to your account, which I assume most people do the very same day, then the balance will never expire.

And yes...I waited all month for the 48 cent deals - because I knew they would arrive. That's classic Daz - there's always some sale that gets you all those $1.99 deals for less than a dollar if you wait. Then you spend 4 hours pouring over them and spend 100 bucks on 200 items you may or may not ever use but you got them on SALE! And then you download 63 mega-gigawatts of files. It's strangely gratifying. And I don't think it's ever not happened.
And whatever you miss now...it will come around again in a few months, so don't stress too much.
From a veteran Daz buyer...clear your top guys first. That way if you miss a deal you still have your top wants taken care of to console you. If you pay too much and a better deal comes up later (doesn't happen often...) you CAN rebuy and take the better deal and they will return the other one and credit you back.
If you're smart...grab good NEW shaders when they're on sale and stock up on those older under-a-dollar items. Then point and click-shade your way to gloriously cheap NEW items! A lot of them turn out fabulous.
To protect your investment, stock up on tools. That 70% sale on resources was a godsend...75 bucks saved me THOUSANDS because it means I can convert all my old skins, poses, props etc. For me that was the most amazing deal of the whole sale. I can now take my old V4 clothes, skins and poses and jam them into iray on G3. 10 years of collecting content revitalized for iray. Whooooooo! Plus with all the clothing shaders, those outfits look fresh and new too!
What else....umm....NEVER miss a Stonemason sale. Seriously....never.
If you see a starter bundle or pro bundle for under 10 bucks...take it. It ain't getting any better. I stupidly skipped the horse bundle for 6 bucks. Did I need it? No. Coulda had it though. Now me and the horse are eyeballing each other every time we meet and he mocks me!
Now if Monique 7 by herself would just fall into the under $10 gap...I'll end this March a happy camper :)

Okay, I've tried several times to redeem my gift card and it keeps saying it's the wrong code. It happens with the codes from two different emails. My cart is full, but the prices are probably going to change any second now. Help? Please?

First, use the code from the second email. Second, click on the code as it is a link. Third, on the redeem coupon page, click on the green (?) button to Redeem the code.

Hello! @DSDT and @jonttex82 ... I have tried BOTH the SAVE6 and PlatClub coupons numerous times over the night. I was careful to make sure I had well over the required minimum $18 to activate the SAVE6 coupon using various OLD products, and no joy, only the "not valid" error time after time. Same story trying the PlatClub coupon: I tried numerous times with various DazOriginals (tried various items, both old ones and new ones) and nothing worked, kept getting the same old "not valid" pop-up. I'd sure hate to miss using the coupon while the MM catch up is still on, which I'm supposing will end at daz midnight! I wonder if the Daz tech people even work on Sunday and will fix this?
