Remember that the old MM was mainly Daz Originals, so there tended to be only one item per day with (perhaps, I can't recall for sure) associated discounts on the PAs responsible which were not usually better than and may have been worse than those in the new MM. There used to be a buy-them-all bonus for MM, which indicates how many fewer items there were.
I suspect one could still work out a pretty good deal if they went to daz, saying they wanted to buy every single item in the store in one purchase.

I have Darius, Lee, Kimo, & Mei Lyn in my wish list, so I was a little disapointed in the lack of racial and gender diversity of the pro bundle offers.
Rats. I was hoping I was missing something, LOL. Thanks for the info! Unfortunately, this is one of those times I own too much. I'd have to buy 3 Mad items to spring for Kids 4, which I've always avoided as I find them extraordinarily creepy.

I think corridors and hallways must have been a theme of 'free' over the last month. I seem to have acquired quite a few of them! Perhaps there's still time for a 'Wild West' corridor with sawdust on the floor and bullet holes in the walls!
Did anyone else think of the state of their bank accounts after the sales of the last month as they stared in disbelief at the irony of the 'Walk In The Shoes Of The Wealthy' title of the Daz e-mail this morning?! :)
Well... I was worried about them pulling out some super deal on Pro bundles at the end of the month that would make me regret spending all my money earlier.
But... this isn't that Pro-Bundle Blowout. I don't know what things were like in 2008, but 2017's March Madness is quite a bit less exciting than 2016's.

Honestly, despite the fact that the sales were not as deep - I spent far less on this sale than on any previous sale over the last 12 months. I was having some sales fatigue after the December/Janurary sales - as far as going, "It doesn't matter how cheap this stuff is, I'm spending a TON of money on it in bulk."
This time around... yeah... I didn't even begin to open my wallet like I have.
Although - here is some key learning, I guess... I spent a pretty good chunk of my March Madness budget on sales on Feburary. When I was buying those things I was thinking, "I may regret this in March when they go on super blowout price."
But it turns out that was the right thing to do, because those things did not see the same kind of discounts through March, let alone deeper discounts. In fact, a lot of my purchases this March Madness were from the Fast Grab category, because that seemed like it was getting the more interesting items and the better discounts, overall. March Madness itself, other than a couple of good days, was kind of an anti-event for me. Those other every day sales though... they hit my sweet spot.
I guess in the end, I don't care what the sale is called or when it happens, if I can get the stuff I want at prices I am happy with. :)

Seems nobody was fond of those punch sales. Well, I remember one which was before Xmas. Took me a while too get all those punches but gained heavy discounts after that. And there was also a X% one-time orange banner to be combined.
Miss nice updates to Fast Grab recently. Actually that one combined with the 10% from the banner made the best discounts for me.
Raoul for Ivan 7 HD is in mine, but I need Ivan.... so if Ivan was there, I would buy him too. :D
Raoul is awesome also; I'd get him in a heartbeat if I had Ivan.
Great character but it looks like you need both Ivan and Ivan HD. So, overall a pretty hefty investment

The Bonus Buyer thing is essentially a punch sale except now it's hidden. That seems to have stopped everyone hating it, so whatever works I guess.
I do think it's unfair to try and compare a sale today in 2017 to one in 2007 or similar. There are so many conditions changed in so many ways between now and then that it's just not a relevant comparison.
So I have this get $10 of DO for free (so just like a super monthly coupon which I also haven't used) offer because I haven't been buying anything, and I can't seem to build up the effort or enthusiasm to actually put anything in my cart. I feel like I might be a faulty shopper or something.
I'd overlooked that. But I'll hold out anyway. He's an incredible character, imo.
I think she's really pretty, but to me the birth marks/moles are a bit too dark and distracting. Just a personal taste thing. If you like her definitely get her! :) Her shape is absolutely adorable - so she's for sure worth it, imo, if you don't mind the moles. Personally I'd have to use a different texture on her or lighten the moles a bit in photoshop.
One thing that is different is that the no return policy they had with punch sales is not in effect
Another difference is that normally punches were earned by buying new releases only, so you normally needed to pay around $10, or a bit less, to pick one up. You become an MM bonus buyer after purchasing anything, new or old, including cheap items for less than a dollar.
It's pretty crappy, to me, that the HD isn't included with the character in this day of Iray. For the base prices of the Daz Original characters ($45 non-sale price), it's kind of icky to also charge people another $40 (again, non-sale price) to top of that just to get the HD for the character. We're looking at a non-sale price of $85 for ONE character. Don't get me wrong, I KNOW that the characters are often on sale, but even with the sale price it's often quite expensive to get the HD character having to buy the HD bits separately from the character.
That's why I love Kayleyss's characters. They are beautiful and the HD bits are awesome, with a very reasonable price point on top of it. Daz needs to adopt a page from Kayleyss' book and include the HD with the character without charging people and arm and a leg and having to pay for a separate product for the HD bits.
Loads of PA characters also include HD as standard. All of Silver's do but they're never marked in the name itself. FWSA ones pretty much all do too afaik. The only real difference is that there's often no HD slider and it's on by default (which kind of makes sense when you think about it since HD details tend to be specifically for a character rather than general features, and you can always lower the subdivision level if you need faster rendering.)
I completely agree with most of the main figures though. There are more than a few that offer nothing much beyond being a character (they're very nice looking high quality characters but that isn't the point.) They may often be on sale but it's still a massive list price that they're being deducted from. 50% off a main figure is still more money than a standard PA figure at full price. Once you own a couple of core shapes it quickly becomes not worth it to me.
To tell you the truth, I haven't bought any DAZ HD addons for any DAZ character yet, but I would watch for a sale for Ivan HD just to get Raoul eventually. But I also think Ivan is worth it just for him being an older male. I'm trying to be consistent (with a slip here or there) to buy the truly unique characters and reward the PA's who make them. I don't look at the female characters that much anymore unless they're pretty original or a DAZ original that I like (or is cheap enough) so I have base characters, but I try to watch for unique characters, especially males and/or ethnic characters. There just aren't enough.
Edited to add: I totally agree that the base DAZ character ought to include the HD version. The whole separate package feels like milking it, when the models aren't that cheap unless you wait for deep sales. It's why I haven't bought any HD DAZ addons before.
I really liked Dale... but he needs the male body morphs and male head morphs... this is a much more expensive proposition with less application than needing those morphs for a GF base model - just by the nature of the focus by PAs and DAZ on females versus males.
With those morphs not on any kind of super discount, it made me skip Dale. I'll wait and see if I can get the base morphs on deep discount at some point - and then wait until Dale comes up for sale.
Which I guess is just the nature of DAZ content... playing a waiting game until you can get what you want at a price you can justify.
I had thought the same thing about comparing prices from 2007 to today. I was an original member of Elfwood, which is kind of the precursor to Deviant Art. At the time there was a 3D artist trying to get me to switch to digital media. The software was expensive, crude, difficult and primitive. That was like, 1996 - 2000. I didn't do my first 3D render until last year.
The base morphs are pretty much needed for many/most PA characters. I got a really good deal on the G3F body and face morphs when they where in a stacking sale, but have yet to get the body and face morphs for G3M. They are pretty much needed for the majority of the PA characters I think, that's why I have hardly any male characters. I might just wait until Genesis 4 comes out and just skip the G3M stuff.

I did a free trial of poser 4 back in that time, but yea, massively expensive. I think I did two renders before my trial ran out, and that was the extent of my 3D until this Jan.
