    I have no real complaints...But yeah, this was awesome. Now I'll have some final discounts and maybe get 1 or two or three (relatively) high-ticket items that I passed on earlier due to cost.

    Save up lots of money for October, which is the annual PC+ sales. :) There's another full month of sales in September, but I strongly suggest you keep lots of money saved up for October! And by lots, I mean at least double of what you are thinking of now. No, wait. Double that again, just to be safe. :)

    You mean something bigger and better than this?!

    Very cool. Long as it's new items.

    You still seem to be regarding March Madness as past tense. It is not ending this weekend*.

    *speculation based on previous experience - they always say something like "final catchup" when it's the end.

    Hmmm are you saying there could be MORE and BETTER releases still coming? Or another vendor on sale?

    I don't expect deeper discounts on what we already have - that would lead to mass returns- so okay I'll see what's up the pipe and hop on those gift cards now just in case.

    LOL, it's fun to see your enthusiasm, avxp. Totally there with you, especially as a writer who can find a use for virtually anything in the store in the name of books and characters. You will love the PC+ sale in October. That one is amazing and nearly broke me last year. I can't remember half of what I bought. It was crazy. 

    I am surprised it's a catch up weekend. Wasn't expecting that for another week. Hoping for another total blowout on really old stuff. V3 always needs more stuff. LOL

    I don't know enough about Daz and it's rendering processes to know how they approach darker skin. I do know that iray does a pretty good job of replicating the way light works in real life. As a pro portrait photographer I can chime in on the real life part of this. Darker skin reflects light more then lighter skin, so any time you get darker skin in bright light your going to get a lot of shine. Talking with a black photographer friend she told me that as a dark skinned person it's something that you are used to seeing and it just seems weird to us white people. If you look at real unedited photos of interracial couples you can compare the way light effects the skin on both skin types and you will see that both shadows and highlights are stronger on the darker skin. When I photograph dark skinned people I try and be very careful of the lighting, keeping it soft so that it gradually fades into shadows. No hard lights, and sharp shadows or you will get shine and shadow with no detail.

    Also being a pro photographer for a living, I can second this:  Black skin, especially the darkest blue / black color will often disappear except for the very bright highlights.  This effect can make it very beautiful in person, but extremely difficult to light and still get good detail.  Human eyes are much better at picking out the details than any camera.

    As a fix in Daz, try using the NGS2 shaders for dark skin.  It will lighten the skin and bring up the pores enough to bring out the detail and lose some of the shiny highlights.  Also, try using some mesh lights at the sides of the figure to bring out details.  I really love the Elianeck set 1.

    Hmmmm....my bonus says, "Buy 2 or more newly mad releases and get an additional 30% off newly mad releases."  But, there don't appear to be any Newly Mad items in today's Catchup Sale.  And, the discount doesn't seem to work on Still Mad releases.

    Yes and I noticed something else. One button at top says "Shop all still mad items" and the one near the bottom before Featured Artists says "Shop all related mad items" unfortunately they lead to the same page; the "Still mad items."

    I recommend putting in a support ticked about it, providing the link to the parts of the discussion where you bring it to the mods' attention about the glitch. The link can be gotten by clicking on the time stamp under your comment then copying and pasting the URL that comes up. Or you can screen shot the conversation. Eather way if you show customer support that you where trying to get the freebie while it was still available and you couldn't due to the site glitch, then more than likely they will give the item to you. Customer support here, imo, is usually really helpful and I've had nothing but good experiences with them.

    so that's what I did, as you see from my post you quoted.
    But the mods here in the forum can't do anyting about it. They're not responsible. And the customer service didn't react in any way (for them it was early on friday). Of cause I attached the corresponding screenprints.
    But it looked as if the customer service was out of duty on friday.

    The main point is, why the creators of the shop site don't test by themselves and only sometime react, when a large number of members complains.

    It didn't work, but works now.

    This is an absolute NOGO !

    I was just comparing screen monitors for the difference in the ad-speak.

    I too was searching for Newly mad and thought maybe the green "NEW" product tag would count, but sadly no.

    Problem is, if this is a typo then we're all waiting, letting the current deal pass - losing a day and cart-full of sales.

    Or b, this is...a...typo and they didn't release 'today's batch of NEWLY and you'd have to return everything you get after this banner went up to reapply for the better deal they advertised.

    Either way, I'm owed some EXTRA 30% discount on some new goodies....

    Hope they honor that, For real. It would have been a mega-blow-out weekend IF THERE WERE NEW RELEASES and that banner had a targets....

    Waiting to see where this goes...

    Hmmm...I only got this banner today...  So, I was psyched to pick up a couple of things.  But, I can wait...My wallet is feeling pretty light this month.  Besides, just had a couple of prices go up in cart again....(sigh).

    Well, it could depend on my section of the cloud. But my download speed test comes back normal (60mps) and downloads from other sites seem normal.

    @ AndyS: Did you see that they have extended  Fantasy Interior as a Bonus Buyer freebie through today? It will show a price on the product page but should be free in your cart.

    Just so you know, there are random sales all throughout the year, out of the blue there could be some huge sale or short lived flash sales, not to mention FastGrab. Daz wants us checking in several times daily and you will, it will become part of your daily routine along with brushing your teeth. And then you will be checking in here, in this forum daily to make sure you didn't miss anything and then wait till you find out about stacking sales...  Welcome to the Rabbit Hole, the White Rabbit is waiting and the Mad Tea Party is just starting...

    WOw, wow, wow...I thought I was a little crazy becuase 230 am-ish (my midnight in New York) I'm always watching the banner flip over. And around 11;30 am for the fast grab to switch.

    I thought it was only me and ATI (he has an excuse since he posts it as a service) that are obsessed enough to bew watching this closely. lol

    I'm nutty over that cart too. putting items in there like "How much WOULD that cost me..."

    This morning I spend a good fifteen minutes putting every single wishlisted item in my cart from the featured artist / below 16000 sku page, hoping it would be a friendly number at the end. :D It wasn't. :D Clearing the cart was a much quicker process. :))))

    YEah, my cart was 550 at one point. Now it's under a 100.

    There are just too many worlds to explore. I almost feel guilty when I see some of the craftsmanship and I don't buy it. There's that whole Atlantean theme that's incredible. I SHOULD be getting that stuff, but I don't have an open story(yet) that requires it. I'm also trying to start with empty rooms and build them myself with loose props instead trying to buy EVERY location. 

     

    What's even worse is when I roll the mouse over the sale banners and see that they both link to the SAANDME PAGE, but open them up in different tabs, just in case.

    I also open EVERY vendors page to make sure that I didn't miss a new one added to the featured list.

    I'm a little too quick - I still try to add items to my cart with the little cloud symbol on the bottom right. lol
