Looks like something weird is going on with the RDNA prices. They are jacked up WAY higher than yesterday, even the PC+ ones. Not sure if that's a glitch or not.

Got a New item in our cart also?

I'm not sure what's going on with the prices, but I like it... :)

Couldn't figure out the pattern, but put at least two of the items that were just sent out in the best-price notifications to get a sweet deal.

Judging from the list of stuff someone got their wish for "utilities" grated. :)

Ah, it's the new sale... Okay, there's the pattern. :)

They made a banner for it. I guess it will stay for a couple of hours at least... :)

Thank you, DAZ! :) Only 3 more products to go, and I'll be extremely satisfied with this year's sales! :D

It seems to be me, or rather something about Chrome. I keep getting logged out repeatedly from the forums and the DAZ shop. I'm logged in now, but only see about half the RDNA stuff on sale. The other half is full price. I've got a sales banner, it shows me logged in, but some stuff is $20 instead of the normal $2.99, and even in the cart is ringing up as more. Other stuff isn't. I've cleared the cache and restarted the browser and get the same result. Might be a browser add on causing it, but I doubt it. Never had a problem before. I'll test at home tonight and see if it's the same.

Same item, different browser (Internet Explorer) and it looks fine. Weirdness!

    No problems here, in Chrome.

  • LlynaraLlynara Posts: 4,772

That was a strange experience. Shopped in one browser, bought the stuff in the other- and the prices held up fine in the shopping cart, but every time I clicked on an item in my cart while in Chrome, the product page showed up as full price. Bizarre!

This did ti for me :)

  • Oh man, the Dynamic Controller... so tempted. Does anyone know if it works well in Mac 10.12? I've been burned by Decimator, so I wanna know if it's worth taking advantage of the discount I have on the Tools/Add-Ons.

I had trouble this morning with prices jumping once they were in the cart.

Refreshed the browser and the discounts returned,

Does the free version work on your setup? Might be worth checking as it will probably be a good indicator. I believe it ships with the standard DS installer.

Yeah, it does. Well, I'll take the plunge and buy it. Really looking forward to working more with dynamics, haha.

Ok so I bought a new PC + item and got the Bonus Buyer Banner Back. I then bought the axes and an RDNA item and got the 60% discount.

I'm not keen on the idea of having to buy something every few days in order to keep the banner as I'm on a limited budget.  I would rather the discount increased with each purchase as it has with previous offers.

Yup. They just wiped out my store credit and got an additional $32... But I found it too hard to pass up $273 worth of rarely discounted utilities for $54.

The sale just got serious. Now I think I should spend some time pursuing all these modelling tutorials in Carrara and Hexagon and see if I can make a little of my money back from the house. :D

Oh. I probably should have bought a gift card first and saved an additional 10%... darnit. :)

Is the Fabricator and related products still useful in DAZ 4.9? It seems to contain a lot of shader presets, but I'm not sure if there's anything special about it aside from that...

A lot of the older shaders are for 3DL, and if the product does not mention IRay, chances are it is not IRay. So if you are mostly rendering in IRay, you should be cautious with any of the older shader presets. Having said that, if the shaders are mostly based on textures, then they will be usable in IRay, but tweaking of the shaders is almost certainly going to be required.

Yeah, it seems like a lot of it is textures, which would be useful. I can convert 3DL to useable Iray stuff most of the time... it's just a matter of whether or not they use AoA or Shadermixer blocks that'll complicate things.

You can use 3Delight presets and then put an Uber shader over them. I've had a lot of success using DA's fabric shaders that convert stuff from 3Delight. That includes stuff shaded with 3Delight shaders. Seems to work okay. I do have the Fabricator if you want me to do a test run for you.

Nah, that's fine :) I'm learned enough with shaders and materials that I cI'm mainly deciding whether the textures are worth it. That, and there are other stuff that's stacking with the utilities/shader sale, so I'm pondering what to buy.

Also, what was this talk about secret PM stuff, haha! I had to miss out on most of it because of my day job :P

That doesn't always work. There are some shaders that use 3Delight functionality that doesn't work in iRay. But, if it's just literal shaders or very simple scripts that apply standard shaders, I'm sure those work just fine.

Personally, I tend to ignore stuff that doesn't explicitly say iRay, but really, considering the 30 day money back guarantee, there really isn't much risk. I don't think this sale has some of the complicated "can't return items" rules that some of the previous sales have had.

What is a "bonus buyer"? (i haven't been paying attention to the sale, so missed it, if it was explained)

It's based on buying items during the sale:

ETA: Here's ascreenshot of the current banner across the top of every page, when you qualify...

So, is that ANY new item, including PC items? Or is it ONLY the march madness new releases? And do you have to buy more than one?

According to Ati, it doesn't even have to be new. As long as it isn't free, it should qualify. One item is all it takes.
