Thanks! You know...there are no items like utilities or aniblocks almost ever on sale...

It's always people and clothes and sets...

They are really watching the store habits...

I've started to wonder whether the 10% bonus will stay at 10%. It might go up to 20% or 30% and then the stuff I'm buying now will seem expensive. At Christmas there was some madness going on in the sale but this one seems a little sedate by comparison.

If someone could PM me the secret of RDNA, I'd appreciate it too, although I've already pulled the trigger today. Picked up the aging morphs for V4 - figure I can use GenX to take those to Gen1, 2 and 3, a bunch of the RDNA foliage packages (winter and Joshua Trees,) and Big Bill.

I skipped the IRAY package for Big Bill. Currently I'm playing with some custom D-formers and Will's shaders on it... It is turning out pretty awesome and I hope to have a render of it soon to share.

But I might go back for a second pass if I can improve the deals. As it was, I picked up all of that for around $5.

Does anyone know how long this Runtimedna 60% off offer discount lasts? I'm waiting for a new item that I would really find useful

It's hard to tell whether it is just for today or will last awile

@ sueya:  See your PM's before you submit your RDNA order.

I didn't see a PM about RDNA in my mailbox. Mind you it's too late to take advantage of the 60% off RDNA offer now. I have also noticed that my Bonus Buyer Banner  has disappeared. Is it worth contacting Customer Support about this?

Make your own aniblocks from the free mocap animations on Mixamo.  That's what I've been doing.  Doesn't take long, more moves, and free.

When is the last time you bought something? You have to buy something about every other day to keep it going. But something cheap, it should return.

You probably didn't buy any qualifying items over the last few days - it should be back once you buy something again (tip: buy something small to qualify before making a larger purchase). If you did buy something from the sales within the last two days, then it may be worth contacting CS.

The Bonus Buyer is only active on the day you purchase something (not free), and the following two days. Then it disappears.

I'm really disapointed by this march NONmadness...especially compared to last year one and last year end of year sales.

I'd like to be in, in the secret thing, if there is some kind soul to help wink

It's more fun when the secrets are public at least via forums. That way folks don't feel left out if they take the time to check forums. :)

These are likely common knowledge but here are a couple tips:

    • To trigger the 60% RDNA sale, you can just keep 'buying' classic axes (the freebie). This is likely a glitch, so take advantage of it at your own moral peril! Not a big deal since there are some really cheap PC+ items that are quite good.
    • If you buy PC+ RDNA items, the discount is higher than 90%. We're talking sub $1 items.

The problem is that when secrets were shared via public forum during the Christmas season, they got fixed faster by DAZ - so fewer people got to enjoy the secret.

    :)

So people stopped posting in the forums when deals seemed likely to good to be true.

  • firewardenfirewarden Posts: 1,488

@havsm, I think the PM's came about due to DAZ actively deleting comments that included discussions of stacking deals and glitches, not to leave anyone out of the discussion. I've never asked for a PM before, and I did take advantage of the Classic Axes glitch, although I immediately thought that I should have just used a $1.88 item as I had intended.

Yep. Back in the middle of January I had my cart jump from $40 to over $100 when I posted about what I thought was legitimate stacking and was a good deal.

I don't have a problem with them correcting the "deals" as quickly as possible, but I don't think it's right when they delete discussions about stacking. Especially when it's hard to tell which are intended and which are not.

  • TooncesToonces Posts: 919

Lol same! The guilt wasn't worth the $2 PC+ item I could've (and probably should've purchased). But alas, I'm human and sometimes succumb to temptations of better-than-intended 'sales/glitches'.

Generally I think daz just fixes the glitch and leaves the discussions.

As for the stacking deals, I've had fun searching for them in the past, but I also like reading about them here. I like it when folks post the good deals they got. Sometimes I'll buy similar stuff and realize the next day I'll probably never use half of it, but I bought it because it was like 90% off. I've gotten better about weaning myself from the sale-buying-addiction, but honestly it was pretty fun when you're first starting out with Daz, to build a library of stuff to work with.

My hunch is that 5 years from now, Daz will have a subscription service where all products become encrypted/free if you use the service and you can access anything for a monthly recurring fee...like kindle unlimited. I'm not a fan of subscriptions so I probably wouldn't do it, but seems to be the way most online businesses are going nowadays.

The secrets have been secreted D:

Surely if everyone just moves to posting "I'll PM you" eventually admins will just start reading all the PMs..?

I don't really care either way but reading lots of posts of "check your PM" is pretty boring, especially when you get a notification about it anyway.

  • TooncesToonces Posts: 919

Agreed. Posts about PMs is boring. This thread is most exciting when folks are posting their amazing deals, even if some of them turn out to be 'glitches' that get shut down. As the title says, there's always another.

I have to admit I have not been all that impressed with the March madness sale or the stuff. I have wishlisted a few items. I have not been moved to buy lately, then I read about venus going retrograde from 3-4 to 4-15 or so and it is not a good time to buy anything you may change your mind about later.  I guess I will just sit and watch. :)

I would love a DAZ Unlimited!

And yeah, I'm a 90% off kind of girl. I love the good deals. Yesterday I managed to average 89% with the RDNA stuff. I finally got LaRoo and a bunch of her clothing, which is very beautiful. Some of the older stuff is well made and the designs very pretty. I haven't seen them repeated for the Genesis 3, so it's fun to discover the older things- or rather, rediscover, them.

I'm also figuring out the deals over at Rendo and those can be fun too, but I don't think discussions about those would be welcome here, LOL. And I don't see a sales thread on their forums either, though I haven't spent much time looking.

The fixing of sales issues after reading posts has gone on for years. Nothing new.  Forum members simply PM each other about sales. You just look at who is actively posting and PM them, that's it. If they don't check their messages or don't have it set up to get email notifications, well, then they miss out, but bottom line, the rest of us don't get dragged into it and/or feel left out (rightly so, because we are.)

People subscribe to threads, I subscribe to this one, and we're getting email after email regarding posts here requesting getting in on the information.

It was a sweet idea to help someone, the approach just needed tweaking a bit.

Looks like something weird is going on with the RDNA prices. They are jacked up WAY higher than yesterday, even the PC+ ones. Not sure if that's a glitch or not.

The couple I checked still were the same as yesterday.

And then there's the folks who read this thread, but don't post very often.... glad to see a plausible PM secret posted. I figured it couldn't have been too extreme (and probably involved the axes) because people were still posting about purchasing in the normal way AFTER getting the secret PM. I was awfully curious but it was close to Daz midnight when I was reading the thread and I expected the sale to change again.

Since it hasn't: what amazing things have people found in the RDNA catalog? I picked up http://www.daz3d.com/sir-guy and a pose pack for him for around $.85 each. One concern I always have with RDNA stuff is how well (and easily) it works in Daz, since so much of it was aimed at Poser. What are the treasures?

  • Griffin AvidGriffin Avid Posts: 3,882

I'm glad you posted your find. I was quite confused as to what all the hub-bub was for. I figured my searches weren't done right.

A lot of the Runtime DNA stuff I found was cartoon figures and VERY OLD poser-looking products.
Apparently there seems to have been an overnight leap in direction between cute and demonology. lol

  • AtiAti Posts: 9,208

I'm not sure what's going on with the prices, but I like it... :)
