Yeah, the new items are not there yet. But at least it's up and running again.

What happened? Was it really scheduled maintenance? If so, why weren't we warned?

I suspect they view 'warning people' like 'marking when sales will end'.

LOL, I honestly don't see why they would need to. Then again I don't use connect or have any pressing reason to connect to the site other than to d/l products or be on the forums. Maybe it's time for some to actually use some of the products we bought in the past, LOL. While I agree it would be polite, I don't feel it is mandatory to warn us.

I tried to get on last night and saw the site was down so I started a render and went to bed, no biggie for me.

I'm surprisingly finding it hard to find something in this sale that I really want :/ A lot of the items I like aren't DO items...

I had the same problem. With the mass DO give aways over Christmas, plus PC+ and other sales my DO wishlist has become surprisingly small of late, the ones still there are for newer products. Still when the discount is 98% items that were deemed unneeded, suddenly become more desirable!

Most of the DO that I picked up in this sale are outfits that they gave out free texture packs for in the last week or two.  So the freebies section is working exactly as DAZ intended.

It is DAZ's site and their ball game; so, no, not mandatory. But it is frustrating when, while you are in the middle of shopping, the site suddenly goes down and you don't know why.

If we had known ahead then shopping and (and forum posting) could have been planned around it.

My guess is they thought the down period would just be a few minutes and thus hoped no one would notice, and as such not worth warning people about. However, as often happens with software upgrades, things did not go so smoothly, and the down period lasted a good deal longer than anticipated.

That's the wonderful world of I.T. in a nutshell right there! I'm livin' that dream every day. Ugh.

Interestingly enough, I was on a few other sites last night that had significant Cloudflare issues, but that may be a coincidence...

Wasn't related to cloudflare, as far as I can tell; the site itself had the maintenance notice posted, which indicated to me they had planned for it to be down for a while. Now, I don't think 5+ hours was what they expected, but as someone else said, that's how it goes sometimes.

New promo says: Get an ADDITONAL 20% OFF*¥ Items from these Artist Catalogs that are from 2014 or older!

As I don't have the slightest idea which ones of the items belong in that category, and no other way than to add them to my cart to see any discount at all, I consider this too much work. Said items will have to wait for the next sale, hopefully, it will be a bit easier then to fill the cart.

There is also an additional 20% off for places and things, so we have to guess what they are. Normally guessable I suppose, but there are some cases where an item has both thing and people items, or other aspects where its categories are vague.

This is the main category for "Places and Things": http://www.daz3d.com/places-and-things

You should be able to sort the sale PAs pages by age (drop down on the right). That should help a little bit. But I agree, they really should have done categories on the sale page to help us find the items that trigger the additional 20% off. They usually do that, I'm not sure why they didn't this time.

They may simply be quite busy with something bigger ... they certainly keep us guessing. Maybe I am simply over-reacting. But the current sales are lacking many of the bigger name stores that often come out together with big new releases. Couple that with the recent multi-hour system maintenance. I fear a major change or update is coming ... not just another new base figure. Tomorrow's sale may be telling.

There are exceptions, but for the most part, the featured PAs of any given sale are PAs with new releases in that sale. That said, there is March Madness coming up, so I'm pretty sure they are busy preparing for that, on top of the daily sales.

Today's new release selection practically screams "sale incoming" since it's only a few items and there isn't really anything else going on.

I thought it screamed $90+ new release myself.

You'd think for that amount of money, they'd have a few more screenshots or a video showing how well it works. Not very well done...

I was hoping for more information too. Definitely interested in the product, but the sales page looks very rushed.
