...woke up stuffy, sniffly, and sneezy today.   Weekend will be dry at least.  Have a couple events to attend this weekend so good there will be no water from the sky.

Seems we get one or the other extreme with nothing in between - either drought or dreary and rainy everyday. Still looking for that first 70°+ day.  Seemed like Sunday would finally have been it, but they changed the forecast and now it's supposed to be cloudy and in the 60s. with more wet returning on Monday. which sil continue through the entire week.

Waiting for the current band of rain to pass by so I can go to the market.

Non-complaint: My car's unibody framework has been repaired!  Yea!  And at considerably less than the first estimate.  Saved $700. surpriseyes

Complaint: A few weeks ago I had trouble with the car's windsheild wipers.  They had a mind of their own and would start and stop all by themselves.  The garage replaced the wiper motor and it's integrated control circuits to the tune of $200.  The problem seemed fixed for a while but now, the problem is back.  Worse!  The blades start on their own, stop on their own, I can't turn them off, I can't change them to intermittent, and sometimes if I can get them to stop they don't park themselves, but will stay out on the window. ARGHHHHHHH....sadcrying  Garage mechanic said today that his research said that this is a reported problem with that 2003 era Buick and that only "refurbished" wiper motors are available.  So, your guess about where the refurbished motors come from is probably like mine.  Yep, people who traded them in because they had problems.  frown  I think he's going to warrantee this motor and try another one, but I'm not sure he'll do the installation for free and it's apparently quite involved.   Ouch.

And if he makes you disrobe, you might be Bashful.  If he says you're catching something you could get Sneezy.  But if not, you'd be Happy. smiley

Complaint: My windshield wiper motor woes are real.  frown  It acted up again this morning but this time I managed to get it to the mechanic while the problem was showing itself.  Now he really believes me because he twiddled with it for 15 minutes and concluded that it was NOT the switch so it MUST be the motor, again. crying

Non-complaint: I have new speakers for my TV and sound system.  Yea!  Since I had to break into my savings account to pay for recent spate of car repairs, a little of that cash flew out and paid for a better set of speakers.  Not great speakers, they're just higher quality computer speakers, but at least they have a bass box and a wired remoted volume control that doesn't skip left/right and make scratchy noise when you turn it.  I have them arranged on the left and right of my recliner chair so they're like widely spaced headphones. smiley Great stereo effect and since I'm a bit hard of hearing I can turn them up enough to hear OK without getting so loud I disturb the neighbors on the other side of the wall.  However, late at night and when I am playing vastly dynamic classical music I use my headphones.  Otherwise, when I turn speakers up enough to hear the soft parts clearly, the loud parts vibrate the windows. frown

Years ago, when I was still living at home with my mom and sisters, I had a Silvertone portable record player.  The speakers detached and the wires were pretty long.  But late at night, I'd lay them down on my pillow, and then I'd lay between them and bring them to my head.  At a very low volume that nobody else could hear, but for me they were like high end headphones.  Worked great!

Those tricksters Stuffy, Sniffly, and Sneezy seem to have made off with my voice today.  Bugger, a nice day today but don't feel like going out (cancelled out of the activity I was going to attend)  Need to go back to the market and get some throat meds.

...congratulations Kulay on completing another trip around our central stellar primary

Take that number above, multiply it by your age and that is the total distance in miles you have travelled so far were it stretched out in a straight line.

Ignoring the Sun's movement around the galactic centre, and relative to the galactic plane, and the Milky Way's movement towards the Great Attractor.

Yeah, I know the feeling.  I've listened to music in bed, at very low volume ever since I was about 14.  I used to have a "clock-radio" (1960s style, with tubes instead of transistors surprise) that sat on a shelf about 1 foot from my head.  I have to have low volume music playing in order to go to sleep.  Now days, I've found a set of flat laptop speakers similar to this https://www.amazon.com/INSIGNIA-NS-PLTPSP13-Portable-Computer-Speakers/dp/B00B0XU1AA/ref=sr_1_299?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1492294167&sr=1-299 that I actually slip under my pillow.  The local Buffalo classical music station http://tunein.com/radio/WNED-FM-945-s21414/ plays 24/7.  I play the volume so low I can barely hear it but it's so nice to catch the tones when I'm in that twilight era between wake & sleep.

Don't forget the Milky Way's movement within the Local Group, and the movement of that within the Local Super Cluster.  But it's all relative anyway, so movement is actually neither here nor there.   We just get older. surprise

Hmmm..., the Great Attractor.  Isn't he "The World's Most Interesting Man"?

...well, sat in the sun for a couple hours sipping ice tea with generous slices of lemon.  That seemed to help a bit.  Also got some "Fisherman's Freind" throat drops.  Those work the best for me.  Can't do NyQuil or Theraflu anymore as both have acetaminophen.  If this were California, Louisiana or Wisconsin, would have picked up a flask of whiskey some lemons and honey but here in Oregon you can oly get booze at state run liquor stores and there are none in teh area where I do my shopping.

Really becoming annoyed with the forum spell check.  Again had to click on it several times to get it to even work, and on a couple common dyslexic typos, none of the correction suggestions were even close.  May have to go back to proofing my posts in Word before submitting.  What a pain in the sharries.
