Complaint: UNC plays Saturday and I won't be able to watch it.

...non complaint:  they're playing my Oregon Ducks.

I'd bet you "non-complaint"  turns into a complaint after Saturday when your Ducks are eliminated.

how come we dropped the 'h's in words like harbour, colour?
was it an executive decision of the forefathers to drop the 'h' ?

Did "color/colour" ever have an "h" in it????? surprise

But regarding "h"s. I believe that the British don't pronounce the "h" because they don't want to put the effort into pronouncing a European & East European "h" and the accompanying sound of a strangled cat that it requires.  In other words "it hurts when I do that, so I won't do that anymore".  Either that or they could never grasp that they needed to use the article "a" instead of "an" when saying the phrase "a house" or "a horse", so they just decided that "h"s don't exist and say "an ouse" and "an orse". enlightened

Americans haven't done away with the "h" but we have toned it down a bit to just a breathy puff instead of coughing up furballs.

I say ol chap, who says that we British do not pronounce our Aitches.  We do not indeed pronounce Aitch as Haitch, that is predominantly gross.  But we do pronounce then whe talking about a House or a horse or even the aforementioned Harbour, at least most British people do.  Some local dialects do tend to not use them, Cockney being the worst offender for dropping aitches.  Some aitches are actually silent, as the one in hour, so that one doesn't actually get sounded, but that is not because it has been dropped,  it is because it is silent.

Touché.  But I suspect that the predominent exposure to British pronunciation in the US is through either American productions by Americans.  Or by British productions of life on the East side of London.  Yes there are some good British productions but they are generally on the extra cost cable channels that most Americans don't buy or if they do buy them they don't watch them.  But hold on there partner, we're not alone in misrepresenting foreign accents.  I've seen some British productions that absolutely slaughter American pronunciation to the point where I'm ROTFL. laugh

windows applications run in a virtual machine which can be for example instanced, and even nested inside other instances, one of the cool features of windows. Two instances won't share the same RAM tho :(

It is?!?  Wow... I've been pronouncing it exactly as it is spelled... which explains my constant puzzled look when I try to figure out what it means....  haha

After Tim's comment I am afraid the real explanation will be a bit pedantic,  so I will let him have the last word.

So I bought a new USB 3.0 drive to backup my Content (200gb) and the data rate for the hundred of thousands of .dsf file is chugging along at a speedy 14kb/s, ugh crying

Time Remaining: More than 1 day

      sigh...

Yeah, we were talking about dropping haiches. And "Chohole" without the aitches (or haiches with a huh) is Coole. How it's really pronounced probably involves a lot of phlegm (the h isn't pronounced in that either!)

Obvious question: did you plug it in a USB3 hole? If not, you might find it's quicker to get a stack of biros and write it down on a few pads of A4 (or the US equivalent). Sadly, USB3 drives in a USB2 hole only run at USB2 speed.

Yep, 3.0 in a 3.0...I guess 600,000+ files is just hard on the circuits.

Which is strange because one could use a good European/EastEuropean "h" to describe phlegm. surprise
