Had to have the windows open today - between the nice, sunny, warm Spring day and the heat of the computers rendering away, it's been baking!

Downside: Virgin Media is digging up the street to put in fibre cable (yay! we've never had cable here before - 200MBs down, they reckon!), and it's bloomin' noisy!

Wow, sounds like a nice spring day with all sorts of flowers opening up, but if it's bloomin' noisy, I'd think twice about putting those flowers in a hospital zone. surprise

I've always said I should have been a weatherman.  Aside from always having been interested in the weather, it's the only profession I can think of where you only have to be accurate 20% of the time and it's considered a great success!  And if in doubt, say there will be 'Snow Showers'.  That pretty much covers everything.  I mean.. seriously... snow showers?!?  laugh

I've come to believe that there are professions even less demanding though only successful if one is fatally conceited, amazingly convincing, completely full of bullsh*t, and have incredibly naive friends in wealthy places.  Modern Art critic or wine snob come to mind. indecision

I was told to clock out an hour early.  I think it is because too many people are on the clock for how slow we are.

Has anyone seen my DVD remote?  Also why would they design a movie player to have no buttons so no one can play a movie if they cannot find the stupid remote?

Planned obsolescence.  The remotes are designed to spontaneously evaporate at some random time after purchase.  And replacement remotes will be out of stock just before your original remote evaporates.

I've already bought an official Panasonic spare remote with 49 buttons for my overly complicated smart TV that has 3 buttons.  It's a good thing that my original remote is still working because unfortunately, I can't remember where I stored the spare remote. frown
