And I love it! Proof that an atypical character can be successful. Thanks to George and characters like him, even my fantasy scenes now have a bit of reality to them in that all the characters don't have to look like models out of GQ magazine.

I love all the George stuff! He's so much fun!
Yes, George and his stuff is currently G3 stuff I'm actually buying without hesitation, even though I mostly use G2 in renders.
I was wondering... what clothes and store outfits work best on George? You could save myself and others a lot of trial and error if you know. Thanks.
I admit I don't own George and I love guys who look like they came outta gq. In fact I can always use more.
I'm always glad to see male content in the store though.
I actually bought the George body hair, even though I don't own any other George stuff.
It autofits reasonably well to G2M (at least with various clones and such), but I wish it was easier to hide various parts of the hair. Like, I want hair on the legs but not on the butt.
Will, have you tried this? http://www.daz3d.com/real-hairy
Heh, I own http://www.daz3d.com/real-hairy-for-genesis which works reasonably well with G2M. The G2 version is on my wishlist, but it hasn't been on sale since I did so. Still waiting!
I figured I'd give male content some love and was curious how well George hair would work. Well enough not to return it!
George is incredibly cheap right now. He is 70 percent off and with additional discount I got him for less than 2 dollars
Really? Hrm.
Anyone know how well he transfers to G2?
Eh, he's only a few bucks, nabbed him. SEND THE MESSAGE! WE WANT OTHER STUFF!
Honestly, George is well worth using him in his G3 form. Especially with the HD, and that skin!
use the geometry editor tool to lasso and hide it
Thus 'I wish it was easier,' because those aren't particularly easy. (My inclination is to use a supersuit or similar, and adjust morph from there)
Has anyone managed to apply the Holiday Loyalty Rewards? The 5% doesn't appear when I do checkout on George
George is an excellent example of what vendors have been saying in threads lamenting the lack of "under represented products"; they will make such things if there is a clear, financially proven, demand for them.
my 20% did to the hair just now
I am very happy to find that George looks fine transferred to G2. Granted, you don't get HD details, which is unfortunate, but still.
Can you elaborate, Will? What's the process to transfer him to G2? And can he wear G2M clothing? I have nothing for G3M which is why I've avoided buying George until now.
You can do it by hand through some magicy something, but I use GenX2 with the Genesis 3 add on, specifically so I could do things like grab cheap G3 stuff and transfer it.
You open it, load Genesis 3 Male source, search for George, flag it, then transfer to whatever other figures.
Once transferred, it's just a G2M morph, so all G2M stuff works mostly normal
Ivan is also getting a lot of love. Maybe it's time for more diverse looking characters than the typical model looks.
Unique characters like George or Raoul or Vincenzina are worth picking up even during intro. I want the creators to know "more like this please"
Well, my problem is the whole usability. I don't use Genesis 3, so I'm in an awkward position of trying to encourage 'male stuff, unusual stuff' while getting limited use out of it.
I guess the alternative is to use George in his G3 mode and try to fit my G2M clothing to him. Damn, I'm missing having my DAZ computer here as it is still being shipped from the UK to my new home in New Zealand. I'm forgetting how I normally do these things. I don't have the Genesis 3 add-on that you mentioned, nor do I have wear-them-all for G3M (only for G3F). I'm afraid poor old George is going to have to stay in his room until I can find some clothes for him.
Why? All the genesis bases are free. I still use M4 and V4 and V3 characters, right beside all three of the Genesis generations, I'll have a scene and a G3M will be talking to a G2F while a G1F will be serving them, with 3 M4s and acouple V4 are walking through the background and all using DS 4.6 3DL They're all totally usable.
Not speaking for Will, but my reason is clothing - I have not found a good reason (though George might be the exception) to invest in G3M morphs, characters and clothing. G2M is fine for most of my needs but George is posing me questions about how to clothe him. I've bought him and his hair now and am itching to use him when my computer arrives here but, at the moment, he stands naked.
I didn't get him for $2...got him for $3.36...But heck, that's still a steal. I've shied off buying him for awhile, wondering if he'd be too limited in use. But, I'm certainly willing to give it a try at this price. He's such a well done character!
The big upside at Christmas is that I can finally have a Santa that doesn't look like Derek Zoolander with a beard...LOL
I think with a nice big, rumpled suit, George would make a hell of a private detective, or old time newspaper man. :)
I like the bends better in G3 than G2 and G1. But, I actually like the base figure better for G2F. I do think that G3 adds a bit more realism than the earlier varieties. I bought Pose Convertor for G2 - G3...It works great! And, most G2 clothing autofits just fine to G3. I also have GenX2 with the G3 option...although, I've only done a tiny bit of experimenting with it. I used to think that only G3 had the good Iray skins. But, that's changed drastically with the NGS2 shader.
Anyway, the point is that there are some reasons to try G3. It certainly won't hurt anything if you only want to use it for a few characters. :)
A biggie is skins. Pre G3, I can easily mix and match textures. G3 skins and uv are wacked.
Most of my content and support morphs are for Genesis and Genesis 2. I have very little interest in buying morphs and aging and everything all over again for a new line of figures.
basically a cost reward thing. The benefits of Genesis 3 are extremely small, in my estimation, compared to the costs and annoyance.
The biggest downside is missing out on new stuff with no direct analog. For that purpose, I made sure to get Genesis 3 add on for GenX2.
a lot cheaper than investing in all the usual stuff.
