I'm wondering if it's been tried more than once, or at all; folks say it doesn't work, but I've not seen any PA say they've tried it even once; and a fail doesn't mean it was a bad idea.

I'm not saying it should be done, just curious what all the opinions are based on.

Another thing to consider is that when a PA releases a new product, their entire store gets promoted and put back on sale but when older products get updated or new promos, there is no promotion.  While one can post here in the forums, a very small percentage of customers visit the forums.  So we have to choose where best to spend out time,  and time and time again, its making new content.

I have updated 6 products with new Iray promos to help me learn Iray and because I wanted to.  There is no eveidence in my sales that suggest that the new promos have made the sets sell more then before.

It can be hard to get the attention of potential customers for updated products.

When Jepe updated a number of his M4 characters to Iray, he also made them compatible with G2M. DAZ rolled them out as new products, and he got a lot of visibility. And we see a lot of Iray Add-ons for PC+ items which also come out as new products and get promoted. I think it's very nice of you to convert older products to Iray, but you're not getting any visiblity on it. That's a shame.

I wonder if DAZ would allow PAs to put something on the default promo image that indicates a product has been updated to support Iray. A ribbon across the upper left corner that states "Now Supports Iray" or some such. It would be the sort of thing we'd come to recognize quickly; we'd see it in the catalog pages and know what it was, even it we couldn't read it until we opened the product page.

I know there are products I've decided not to buy because they were older and didn't support Iray. I'd take a second look at those, if there were some way to see at a glance that the product had been updated.

Anyway, I'm going to go take a second look at your catalog...

It is a time factor.  Yes new promos for an older product MIGHT get a few more sales BUT the time is better spent making new content.

I'm reposting this again, because the ideas presented once again represents time that can be used working on a new product. Redoing promos AND getting them accepted is only going to net a few sales, nowhere near what you should recoup for this effort. Adding to your promos or updating a product takes it back through the approval and QA process. When you realize that time and effort involved, you'll quickly realize why there are no updated promos and only new products coming in from PAs.

I'm wondering if it's been tried more than once, or at all; folks say it doesn't work, but I've not seen any PA say they've tried it even once; and a fail doesn't mean it was a bad idea.

I'm not saying it should be done, just curious what all the opinions are based on.

This is based on PAs doing it before. Just because they don't post it doesn't mean this doesn't happen, and if they did, it seems like it wouldn't be believed anyway. But it's always interesting when customers make these posts like they're actually new ideas

Please, be a little less condescending toward the people who help put money in your pocket. We put out suggestions because we want to see you guys succeed, not because we want to harass you or create more work for you for no reason. If we make posts with suggestions like this it's out of wanting to help you guys be more successful - please be less condescending to people who are trying to help. I'm fairly new but I've seen you make rude or condescending comments toward the community before for no reason, and that's one of the reasons I've never bought anything from you. If you don't find the suggestions helpful, you don't have to say anything - or at least you can leave feedback without being rude about it.

I think you have an awesome talent and your work is quite stunning - your characters look great! I really want to buy from you and help support you but dang you make it hard when you leave rude or disrespectful comments so frequently. I'm not saying this out of malice or to hurt you, that's not my intention at all. I'm saying it because I think if I've noticed this than I might not be the only one, and I don't want your sales to suffer because of comments made without caring about how they come across to people only trying to help you.

I respect your work and respect you as a fellow artist and human being and I hope you take this in the spirit in which it's given - the spirit in wanting you to be highly successful and have an abundance of support and sales. :)

Unfortuantely nothing about the truth is condescending. These arguments have been presented many times over the 9 years I've in this community. This is nothing new, despite being told the costs of doing content. It is what it is.

It depends on how the truth is presented. I get that you have probably heard these suggestions before - many of us haven't. Simply saying something like "We appreciate the suggestions, but we've been given these suggestions before and they have been tried before - unfortunately it doesn't really make a difference with older content." Or something to that effect - you know what I mean. lol There is no reason to be rude or condescending about it. :) I get it, you're probably tired of non-PAs making suggestions that sound stupid to you. You've probably heard it all and probably want to roll your eyes at us until they nearly fall out of your head. :P But please realize though where these kinds of suggestions come from and that people are trying to help. Please be patient with us and show us respect and we'll respect you and show you our support in return. :)

However you did dodge the 2nd part of my post that you didn't quote where you were presented the information from another PA and you discounted it like they weren't being truthful As I said, respect really needs to go both ways in a conversation.

Umm What now? I didn't dodge or disregard anyone's comments. Now it just seams like you're trying to be argumentative for the sake of being argumentative. lol Dude, come on now. There is a big difference between leaving suggestions that you may not agree with or want, and leaving rude or condescending comments toward people trying to help.

However I haven't said anything condesencing. I pointed out that these suggestions have been going on for a while now and that's a true observation.

Really? You don't think your comments in this forum are often condescending or rude? You don't think that "it seems like it wouldn't be believed anyway. But it's always interesting when customers make these posts like they're actually new ideas" might be just a little condescending?

If that's what you believe, then I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. I said what I said to try and be of help to you, if you don't want to take it or don't care if you are alienating your potential customers, then that's your right. I'm finished arguing with you as it's doesn't appear to be going anywhere. At least no where good. lol And who needs more negativity in their lives? Going to go out and get some coffee and sunshine now. Have a good day. :) I do hope you consider what I said. If not, then ok, at least I tried. :)

When that one posts it is just better to ignore their banter, divamakeup. ;)

I personally only buy the older items when they are on sale, but I still use them on a regular basis.  For me there are so many figures now to buy for anymore that it gets daunting trying to play keep up, it was so much easier back in the day.

"It's best to use the ignore function for posters who's comments one does not want to see. Otherwise the thread may get closed.

yes sir!! its too bad that post cant be "metatagged" somehow  so that
when that particular ignored person is quoted you are spared from seeing their quoted text also.

    @divmakeupyesheartwink +1...Thank you

    "Yeah.
Not everyone is cut out for customer service."
