I don't know, but take a nap,  By time you wake up, the feeling will have gone away.

  • Cold brew coffee is bad for me.

I think it turns me into a comedian zombie.

  • I just realized I did not get enough sleep and the cold brew coffee was not a good mix.  My roommate could not sleep last night and when she cannot sleep, she ain’t quiet but she talks to herself loudly.

i am wanting to move out on my own but that is not happening anytime soon or fast enough.  I hate living here especially since my roommate has an issue of talking loudly to herself about nonsense and claiming she is praying.

As someone who got used to italian coffee years ago my first and only visit to a starbucks was... interesting. Never felt the need to visit one ever again and sure won't. There sure were reasons why it took Starbucks so long to open an outlet in Italy - the first is now in Milano since early september 2018.

Most germans aren't as traditional as the italians, so starbucks has more success here, but there's also many who wouldn't call starbucks' products "coffee" devil

One roast we often use at home is done by the italian owner of an ice cream parlour in Würzburg - he uses it there for the customers and sells the roasted coffee beans in kg packs.

I did not know I had to tip the barista.  I know I could tip but I did not know I had to tip.

You do not need to tip, ever!  indecision However, one should not upset the people who prepare one's food. enlightened On, the otherhand if you feel pressured to tip, then perhaps that establishment is not a place you should use.

Tipping is an honorarium for above average service.  However, it has become an out of control expectation.  I remember when a good tip was 10%, now they expect 20 or 25% or even 30%  It's just a way for business people to justify cutting their expenses by not paying a living wage.  That being said, I almost always tip a wait person at a sit-down restaurant at least 15% and often 20% depending on service quality.   But I do NOT tip behind-counter personnel under ANY* circumstances.  For them to expect it, is foppish arrogance. indecision

*Well, upon reflection, I DO tip a wait-person behind the counter if I am consuming my food or drink at the counter, but it rarely is more than 15%.  I'm tipping for the service of waiting on me, not for the assembly of the product.

Also, I do occasionally encounter bad service, and I do not tip well for bad service.  Once a lazy, sloppy, dirty or untrained server gets on my radar, I mentally deduct a significant bit from the tip everytime another slight is noticed.  A really bad server gets only a  penny just to make sure they know that I didn't forget to tip but gave what their service was worth.

When eating I do not like to be surrounded by trash and used dishes.  When sitting at the counter and eating or drinking and the wait-person is frequently passing my location I expect the wait-person to notice my trash and used dishes and remove them promptly, I expect them to promptly notice when I have finished my meal and to have my check ready promptly after they've asked if I want dessert or a final coffee.  The same applies to table servers too but they pass one's location less frequently and have longer distances to travel for each service they perform.  A wait-person who keeps my table clean, anticipates my needs, doesn't involve me with their life, and behaves in a friendly civilized manner gets maximum tip.  Bad food is not the wait-person's fault, it's the cook's.  Bad presentation is the wait-person's fault because it is something that could be corrected by them before it's brought to the table.

funny but, how come you have to tip the barrista at starbucks but not the cashier at mcdonalds ? afterall, the coffee and atmosphere at mcdonalds is better than starbucks IMO IMO IMO

This works for the USofA. In other regions of the world, there are many other ways of handling a tip

As mentioned above, You shouldn't tip in Japan. It's disgraceful to give or accept a tip for a job well done.

In most parts of europe, a tip between 10 to 15% is given for a job well done, less when the customers is a) not satisfied with what he got or how it was served or b) is a miser. Many people just "round up to the next full number" like giving € 3.- when the bill is € 2.80 or so... And the higher the bill, the lower is the probability that the tip will really be 10/15% - especially when the cost is high to to exaggerated prices of the transferred wares.

In Italy most restaurants have a Coperto, which is a fixed sum covering service and the still water and white bread often found on the table. The customer can give an extra tip to the waiter/waitress, but isn't expected to. Nonetheless due to the low income of people working in service in restaurants, any amount will be accepted gladly.

And we shouldn't forget to mention the many different ways of how to pay your restaurant bill...

  • i went into a domino's pizza once and reached into the cooler in the lobby and grabbed myself a diet coke and when i took it to the register the cashier actually scorned me for not giving him a tip.

Good example of the disease "entitlementitis"  caused by an inflamed ego, and manifests in an exaggerated delusion that the world owes one a living.
