Here are a variety of Character Mash-ups between Star2.0 and other Characters.

This lower line with SF Design -The Girls and in the upper set Aubrey and ??? are from SF Design Teen Females
Both of those Character sets use Zev0's Growing Up for Genesis 3 Female(s), so you can get some adults to young girls.
I am going to try user Mar3D's Boy and Girl G3F to see if can get a more Male variations.
    Cool Friends is from
AliveSheCried and Daughters of Eve 2 Faces and Body Morphs are from Pixeluna.

I'm wondering what some of the Fantasy Morphs like a Dwarf or Gnome would look like in Star's Universe.

  • Ooo I love that Olivia mix.. Reminds me of Disney's Faries, looks like Silvermist a bit.

Dixie for Star 2.0 - Coming Soon!

This is my girl, Dixie - I plan to release her as a free character once I work the bugs out. She has hand painted skin textures that include four brow options (black, dark brown, blonde), hand painted toon lashes, and "no brows" options (for those that like to use fibermesh brows). She also has a "no freckles" option and comes with four eye colors. She's almost ready for beta testing, so if anyone who purchased Star 2.0 is interested in beta testing the character please drop me a note. I'm looking for 3 or 4  people who are willing to test her out and provide feedback. I've never released a character I've made before, so want to get any issues worked out before officially releasing her.

The requirements for this character are Star 2.0, Victoria 7, ModernWizard's freebie G3F morphs: "Morphalynn 127 Genesis 3 Female Face & Head Morphs", and a willingness to provide feedback (and maybe share some test renders - I'd love to see what you do with her!). If you're interested in beta testing Dixie, send me a note. :)

Dixie's cute, she looks like quite an imp!  And I like the Star DT Jill combination, particularly the purple hues. Very moody and brooding. I am really liking Stella, her textures have that beautiful blush.

Just a sidenote,  would like to post a suggestion someone gave on a thread last month (that had quite a few of us sheepishly saying "Well, duh, never thought of that.")   When reposting and commenting on an image,  resize the image by clicking on it and using the image icon (what you use to post the image, that square with mountains/sun to the right of the flag)  to avoid posting these huge images over and over again. Makes scrolling through the thread a lot easier,  particularly these threads with a lot of images,  and still refers nicely to the original image. Just a thought. wink  Using 300-400 in height is a nice repost size.

Very much a work in progress, but to keep the Starriness going~

Star base, head mixed with Josie 7, body mostly Keiko 6. All textures hand made from scratch, all materials using the Daz Uber shader base. Hair, glasses, and eyelights modelled in Blender. 2min Photoshop background just to have something there for the demo render.

I like your mix! And the glasses are great!

The glasses are so cute! This is Star/Aiko with a 3D Universe Little ones skin plus the mythical dragon.

She (your character) is probably thinking the dragon isn't mythical enough bout now. :)

Decided to toss one more WIP into the hat.

As my photography teacher said in high school, 'Every picture is a story', so here is the story:

Star's Drive-in Diner has taken off and she decided to buy herself a nice ride. And she decides to take her littlest sister, Moonbeam, out for a ride. Problem is she forgot her registration on the counter of the house and the rules of the universe applied, she got pulled over by the new guy on the force. Office Jason Planetoid isn't quite believing the story that she owns her car, so he asks Moonbeam who owns the care and Moonbeam point to her sister.

Star, not being one to throw her family in people’s faces, is in shock. She can't quite believe that this guy doesn't know that her father is Mayor Pulsar Galaxy.

I'm thinking a scene with her in hand cuffs in the interrogation room with the Chief Nova outside asking Planetoid if he know who he just arrested. And Moonbeam commenting, "Dad is going to Super nova over this!" and Star say, "I called mom, she is bringing the registration, Let's keep dad in the Black Hole on this." "Agreed, I'd be grounded just for being arrested with you." "We haven't been arrested, just detained, but if I don't get out of here soon I am going to have to fine myself for not getting to the Diner on time for work." "I think he used the word arrested," Moonbeam countered.

Now for the technical bits for those who are interested:
That is TerraDome 3 Iray in the background, scaled to 300% to give the road a little space; with the Road from Road 'n' Rails for TerraDome 3. The atmosphere was left at 100%, which makes the ridge hazier. Also Depth of field it on, (as you can tell with the Patch out of focus), which helps add to the fussiness of the haze. I also increased the Subdivide and Surface Tiling. This took about 4hrs on my GTX 960 Amped to render to 3600 x 2400, the I did a size reduction to 1350 x 900, to help with the smoothing.

Star is Star 2.0 in Mall Girl G3F version; but Moonbeam is another mash up using Lexi from ‘Rayn's Friends Detention’ by AliveSheCried, which didn't require a lot tidying of give the little girl look. (Though Rayn's Friends: Detention is a set of ten character presets, each approximately 13 years of age.) I am using Star at 100%, so that might be why Moonbeam is so sho ... ah... vertically challenged. Moonbeam is wearing and outfit from the Original Star, Mega Wardrobe from OOT, footwear from Mary Jane’s for Genesis 3 Female(s) from Dogz. I want to LIE this texture and have it say, 'Yes I'm Cute. Don't say it.'

Office Planetoid is Star with the Transfer to: Genesis3Male applied with the Fitness and Muscle Morphs pushed; and yes that is the arm of the Genesis Police Uniform. (Lady LittleFox, how about a Genesis 3 Male Version of Star, Sol?)

The Viper comes with poser services, so it had be re-shaded, I turned to MEC4D's PBS Shaders Vol 1-3 {After I found them), though I wish the color of the logo behind the wheel-well had come out bolder, that isn't the fault of the shaders but my bad choice of color and surface texturing. Color on color works best with different finishes like matte on gloss or gloss on matte.

Issues: Now for the interesting bit, I’ll be writing a bug report on, so it can get fixed.

If you have these shader and you have tried to find them with the other Shaders under the Presets Tab in the Surfaces tab, you must likely wonder why they and several other's aren't there. So here is the issue: if a shader had been correctly Typed, in the Content Editor, to the new tags of Preset/Shader/MDL (Material Definition Language), Preset/Shader/RSL (Renderman Shading Language), Preset/Shader/OSL (Open Shader Language), Preset/Shader/LXM (LuxRender Material) and so on; then it will not show up under the Presets Tab in the Surfaces Tab. This of course means, they don’t show up in the Products or Files tabs in Smart Content either. Yeah that needs to be fix, because I am betting they are bing typed that way for a reason?

Another interresting thing but the math is sound:

Above is Genesis 3 Female and Star 2.0 in the back. In the front is Lexi, Lexi + 25% Star, Lexi + 50% Star, Lexi + 75% Star, and Lexi + 100% Star (the current Moonbeam).
Star is 90% scale of Genesis 3 Female, so when I add Star's reduction to Lexi's Reduction, the compound each other. Moonbeam is in the 115+ size. (the rule is for reference each of the green marks on the rule is 5cm.) I've done this with several characters that are reduced in height and they each had their height reduce.

Based on this, while I like the look of the 100% Star Mix, I might go with the 75% version for Moonbeam, she looks more like Star's little sister not her child. The eyes on the 25% and 50% mixes just don't look right. Eyes are one of those thing that don't grow on a person or very much, you pretty much have the Eyes you were born with. They also look heavy standing next to Star. 45% is where the height reduction starts and one I didn't show is 66% which a little taller, but again the eyes just don't look right.

Okay, so I can't count, when I said One more.

    Here is Grandma Star

    Victoria 7 with Zev0's Aging Morphs for Genesis 3 Female(s) and 50% Star 2.0.

Has anyone done a Low light render with Star 2.0?

I was doing this render with a Single light source and showing how the physical light thing works; and I got a little surprise.

I did a little investgating and found Star had two 50w light bulb's for eye sockets?

Just curious if this is by design or an oops, I didn't intend for Star to live up to her name and light up the room?

Or was Star suppose to Light up our Lives?

It's to stop the eyesockets (which are the actual eyewhites) being too shadowy in normal lighting. If you're doing a dark image you'll need to adjust them to match.

@Haslor If you select her "eye socket" in the surfaces tab and turn the "emission color" from white to black, that should take care of the issue. :)

Edit - never mind, its seams I tried that before and it worked. Doesn't seam to work now. :(

I usually turn the socket emissions down to about 5-10 in dark scenes.Works pretty well.

Has anyone seen this flappy thing come out of Star's Eyesocket prop before? I've never noticed it before and I don't know why it's doing this...

That's ... weird. There shouldn't be any geometry in the eye prop that is shaped like that.

There are the eyes which are flattened spheres, and the lens which can cause issues at times but is basically a big flattened ..lens.. circle thing.

I can't imagine how you'd wind up with that weird c shaped thing.

Diagnosed it a little more... and it turns out that the eyesocket and eye aren't positioned correctly? This never happened before...

edit: Oh that's interesting, I went back to my original test render and it doesn't have the eyesocket prop with it...?

edit2: False alarm, I know what causes it: switching to the geometry tool makes it look weird. blushblushblushblush

I think I found a weird bug by accident: Star! 2.0 with the EyeSocketgs prop doesn't interact well with the geometry tool for some reason. If certain eye-related surfaces are hidden, then it'll create eyeflaps like I mentioned earlier. As well, hiding eyelashes and other surfaces won't stick once you use another tool.

Loading the Eyes separately will also cause DAZ Studio to crash if any surfaces (or perhaps specific surfaces) are hidden.

I thought I was going crazy for a moment there.

  • Just wanted to bring up that Star is finally off the "new" list, and on sale today.  With PC+ and something new in the cart, I've got her coming in at $11.86 = 64% off.
