  • I am working on a presentation image that will be entitled "Honor and Pride" that goes across a few generations. These are my test pieces, but I thought they would work in this contest.

There are a lot of interesting and inspiring images here. I especially enjoy the ones the tell a story. Zev0 may have a hard time picking a winner. It sure is nice of him to sponsor a contest like this.

On the positive side, just imagine what you'd have to be judging if you'd decided to make the contest about Glute Control.  devil

    Grampa at the Folly

Grampa at the Folly, by L'Adair
    (Gallery Link: https://www.daz3d.com/gallery/images/222116)

Gramma's birthday is coming up and I wanted to do something special for her 70th. When I asked Grampa, he came up with the idea of a photo of him at the Folly, where he proposed to her almost 50 years ago. It was an inspired idea, yet when it came time to go, Grampa wasn't so sure. It took a lot of cajoling to get him in the car that day, but it was nothing compared to talking him into removing his hat! Neither of us noticed the deer at the pond, though, until we were checking the photos in the camera. Of course, by then it was gone. This is the best picture of several. It's a bonus the deer was in them. Gramma's gonna love this photo.

I used Ivan, but I lowered the bump and normal maps.

    Grampa at the Folly 02

Grampa at the Folly 02, by L'Adair

This is the same render as the first entry, but cropped to show more detail of the figure. The original entry was rendered with a 2000 to 1066 ratio, at 1500 pixels high. DAZ Gallery resized it to less than 1600 pixels wide, losing some of the detail in Grampa. This image is cropped to the 1000 to 1300 ratio, at 1500 pixels high. This time, the gallery did not resize the image. Yay.

And it would be terrible to run a contest half-assed.
