    My 7 yr old grandson had to go school last week and tell his second-grade teacher: "My baby brother ate my homework." He was almost in tears because he thought he would get in trouble.

    I thought a thought that I thought I had thought but the thought that I had thought wasnt the thought that I had thought I had thought so maybe if I had thought the thought that I thought I thought I wouldn't of thought so much

    Very old depressive verse from back in my poet days.

    Silence is golden
    oh so deathly bright
    when it is your life
    each and every night

    I did manage to get published one time back in those days. I soon stopped because a very good friend pointed out that all my work made people depressed. He said I should burn it all just to remove the negative from the world. I didn't but in some way must have agreed because now I can not find any of my old work books or my confirmation letter for the poem Without. I know I kept it all even the rejection form letters but i have not a clue where I put any of it. And I've hunted for it many times.

    NOW that's really STUPID.

    Outside of children's books (Dr, Seuss, for example) and pop songs, there is no happy poetry of any substance.
    This is a true statement with all the intellectual weight of "There are no absolutes."

    I actually have a lot of my mid life poetry, and indeed a couple of critques of them as well. One said that I had a way of describing things with words, but would be better sticking to prose rather than attempting the poetic form. Talk about damning someone with faint praise.

    I really only do Limmericks

    Victoria Five from Daz
    was dressed in her flapper for jazz
    some power poses by Wendy
    with puppeteer to go bendy
    but she appeared to be having a spaz

    and geografted bitties
    that virtually gather moss

    Michael 5 has a penis
    oh such polygonal happiness
    but his proud member
    cannot grace a render
    flaccid or in joyful snappiness

    ah but the Millenium horse
    hung like one ofcourse
    can fling up his tail
    and whinny a hail
    and show he has the force!

    the Daz cow a word cannot utter
    no phoneme morphs to flutter
    a bit of a gimmik
    these animals with Mimic
    but she can show us her udders
