  • Recent versions of Daz Studio and the Bridge to Bryce 7.1

    Rashad - good to see you here. No, I do not have an answer. Using the bridge from Bryce to Studio or the other way around is long ago. If I need something I have from Studio, I usually export from Studio as OBJ and the import that OBJ to Bryce and save it in a library.

    No, tickets are a completely different system from the forums - I have acces to a little corner, but not the sales or tech support tickets.

  • can import just morphs and apply them to a previously imported model?

    if I get new morphs or geografts in daz i want to apply to a genesis model I previously imported into blender is it possible to do that with differmorphic, like say I have a bunch of new favorite morphs i didnt have before that I wanted to bring in for the previously imported genesis 9 model already in blender?

  • Diffeomorphic Mac

    I'm running Daz Studio, blender 4.5.3 on a Mac Studio M1, a basic question does Diffeomorphic fully work on a Mac?  When I do a test workflow of a simple Daz character then use Diffemoprhic to import (all default options) into Blender the character  works but there is something really wrong with the view port material preview and with how the Shading looks.  See the image below.  If I do the same workflow with the same Daz file on windows the previews and shading is all correct.

    What is really interesting on the Mac is the character and materials are all correct if I render the image (Cycles render).   

    Any ideas on what might be wrong?

  • Black screen in Daz3D

    Hello there!
    Out of the blue a few weeks ago Daz "crashes" for me. Its not a blue screen crash because things in the background are still going. E.g if I'm listenting to a Youtube podcast I can still hear it going on and light is still being emitted from the PC and my peripherals. It just turns off the monitors. Only way to fix it is by doing a hard-reset on the PC. I've seen some similar threads were people say its a VRAM issue. Yet why would this happen to me out of the blue? Sure I only got 10gb but that has always been enough and these aren't resource intensive scenes we are talking about. I've even done close-up 6 charachter renders before and it have worked fine. It can even occur during me playing around in Filament. I've been using Daz3D for a couple of years now, so I don't really get why this issue have popped up. 
    What I have done;

    • Updated my GPU and monitor drivers
    • Updated Daz3D to 4.24.0.3
    • Cleaned out my PC

    This is exactly what the "morphed" option does in diffeomorphic, you can import content directly from the daz library without the need to export from daz studio. The drawback is this is much less optimized as it imports any and every daz morph into blender, while we usually want to bake the shape and only import jcms. Thus exporting from daz studio is better.

    But if you've done UV unwrapping in Blender as well as assigned tex. maps, you should export UV + Normals with OBJ ~

  • Is it possible to change an imported surface into an iray surface?

    What file format did you import into DS, OBJ format ?  If importing an OBJ format file, DS will give it Iray Uber Shader as default... no matter with or without UV coordinates.

    But if you've done UV unwrapping in Blender as well as assigned tex. maps, you should export UV + Normals with OBJ ~

  • Imported prop not saving correctly

    I think I figured it our.  The item was in imported with several parts (so that each part could be rigged).  I grouped them so they would be one asset, but when I saved them as a figure/prop asset it didn't save anything or just the top import.  The anchor (the x,y,z axis shown when you bring an assset into the scene).  It brought in an anchor indicating something was there, but nothing showed in the window and there were no surfaces indicating the asset was there at all.

    You need to use the Connect menu to log in, and in the dialogue check Update Metadata.

  • Importing from DAZ to Blender....how ????

    Can someone point me to a video that explains well how to import a character/prop from DAZ to Blender ?

    I downloaded the bridge and installed it.  I can successfully select a prop from DAZ and tell DAZ to import to Blender.

    When I open Blender, I select the DazStudio addon and there are no instruction on how to complete the importation.

  • Imported prop not saving correctly

    I import the prop.  Looks great.  I save it as a prop, it says looks like it save. 

    I get the thumbnail but when I try to open it up again all I get is the anchor showing where it should be.  I checked surfaces, thinking that it may have saved without the textures.  But there is nothing there.

    Has anyone else had this issue?

    Puoi usare Blender e qualche plugin per l'import dei formati non supportati. Per esempio, puoi caricare senza problemi gli FBX in Blender ed esportare in formato OBJ (o direttamente in DUF con il nuovo plugin Blender to DAZ se il plugin riesce a gestirlo), mentre per gli altri credo che servano dei plugin per lìimport. Li trovi con una semplice ricerca sul web, tipo "Blender import *formato richiesto*, ma credo che di suo supporti parecchi formati.

    Anche Carrara è in grado di caricare qualche altro formato "strano", dai un occhio. Se sei fortunato puoi perfino trovare die pugin per DAZ Studio per l'import di formati differenti.

    Oppure puoi usare uno dei tanti convertitori online ma è un'opzione poco sicura. Devi caricare il modello su un server esterno, attendere la conversione e poi scaricare l'OBJ. Ma il fatto di dover caricare il modello altrove mi ispira poco, vedi i discorsi che facciamo sul copyright.

    Diversamente devi aprire il portafogli e comprare un converitore offline da installare sul PC. Più sicuro ma non gratuito.

    Question, are you importing the OBJ or are you using the PP2 files under poser formats in studio? 

    what version of studio are you using?

    and, what do you mean with MDL format?

     

    I've run through about everything i can think of and can't manage to replicate your issue with the Dire Stones product. It's working just fine for me using the PP2 files in 4.24.03.

    Yes, you can always report the issue to the vendor as well as Daz if you'd like to. 

    The behavior happens with: https://www.renderosity.com/marketplace/products/158822/direstones and https://www.renderosity.com/marketplace/products/163954/wyldwood ; I do not have the issue with other similar products by this vendor.

  • (Solved) Products for G9 manually added in my Products Library cannot be downloaded

    1. Open Daz Studio
    2. Log in and allow metadata to be updated (this allows Daz3d to figure out if you are eligible for the character and creates the place for it to go)
    3. Go to Content Library and the "All Tab", select the Figures category and sort by date
    4. The Premier Characters should appear greyed out and ready to install; select the figure, right click and "install"
    5. You will need to log in periodically (i log in once a week) to maintain their status

    Excellent!  So, #5 sounds like I can use them without being connected to the internet.
