"Install plugin" button not working in Daz to C4D Bridge
I installed the bridge in Daz, got into the menu, clicked "Install plugin", pointed to C/Documents/Cinema/plugisns, got a message that the plugin was successfully installed, opened it to blue and saw that nothing had changed. The plugin just wasn't added in Cinema. The folder where the plugin was installed is empty. I tried to reinstall the bridge both through Daz Central and through DIM, tried to install it manually, but to no avail. The plugin simply does not upload files to the Cinema folder. Please help me to solve this problem.
Question about using DS from a different computerWonderland said:

I would probably avoid using Daz Central or Connect in that situation - infact if you setup the base library on the external drive properly you won't even have to run DIM after Daz Studio is installed. Once DS is installed, immediately go into the list of base libraries and remove the pre-created ones which will be on C: - you will probably want to manually remove those folders. Then you can add the base library from your external drive and within Content DB Maintenance you can check Process Metadata Queue and Re-import Metadata and this will import everything into Smart Content (after several minutes).
However, even if you fully clean up and uninstall everything before you go home you would have to check the T&Cs to see if that is allowed. It probably would be since you would not be loading paid assets onto your friends computer but it's best to check for sure.
Iray preview does run on non-nvidia cards - albeit slowly. However, I don't know what the minimum spec would be for that, or filament or even just textured preview.
I don't want to screw up my existing DS (which already has multiple issues!) so I'd bring a fresh HD and install probably just what I needed on the new HD or who knows, maybe a fresh install would clear up my current issues. I don't see another way except through DIM but I have issues with DIM when I want to install into different folders (ie; I have a separate G9 folder) it will not show the items (all greyed out) on the folder that was not used in the last download. So if I download G9 items into its folder through DIM then open DS all my other content is greyed out and vice versa. I'm having so many issues with DS I
Have you added the new G9 folder to the daz search path within Daz studio?
for me to do this I select the 'Content Library' tab
then, from the menu icon at the top of the 'Content Library' tab column select 'Content Directory Manager'
Inside the 'Content Directory Manager' select DAZ Studio formats
add the path to your new G9 folder
Wacky Modelling ~ In Carrara ~See Above for ZIP files of previous props.
Woohoo. Was able to upload the ZIP files for the coconut cream pie, the half-coconut cup, and the fancy bamboo with umbrella glass.
I am working on the main table for the central clearing, the one that has the draping grass. Using Carrara hair and Philemo's hair-to-mesh plugin. Not finished yet but here is a WIP which I am posting because I can post.
HELP: Changing Default install location of Daz3d using Daz CentralDaz Central installs everything to the same folder, and you really don't want content in the Program Files tree as Windows protects it from many operations (which is probably the cause of the error, since the base Daz Central doesn't have the needed privileges). If you want to split destinations up for different types use Install Manager https://www.daz3d.com/get_install_manager/
Space Road Stop and Add-Ons [Commercial]space road stop is a space sation for the intergalactic travelers.
i have the project to completly build the inside of the station.the first product is already in shop https://www.daz3d.com/space-road-stop
it include a principal room where spaceships can land, a controlroom for operators, an outside docking port for compatible spaceship, a level for storage and a walk with view to outside.
i designed the station to can be connected with duplicate asset of it, with doors to be able to moove beetween those station.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Add-on 01
https://www.daz3d.com/space-road-stop-add-on-01
It include a registration and waiting room, a little security room with jail ,automatic vending machines and toilets for the people waiting for space travel and an elevator with his access for maintenance.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Add-on 02
https://www.daz3d.com/space-road-stop-add-on-02
It include the 64 living unit who take place behind the windows at the top of the station. Those 64 living units are composed of 2 differents models. The first with 2 bedrooms, one with a big bed, the other with 2 beds for children; the second unit smaller with only the bedroom with one bed. Those living units are connected to corridors, elevators and a principal big room who do the connection to add-on 01. there is also a technical unit who join the maintenance path inside the elevator of add-on01 and the big room of add-on 02, and another little technical unit at the end of each corridor of the linving unit area. Finaly there is the walkway who create a path between connected station, like in the Space Road Stop Level-1 asset.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Add-on 03
https://www.daz3d.com/space-road-stop-add-on-03
It include a central room who is on two levels with elevator who is connected directly next the hub from add-on 02. The connection beetween the 2 hub are made by a corridor who lead to the asset called "corridor alpha" in the space road stop orriginal asset (the 2 corridors with view on space)
The central room leads to a refectory and a bar.
The refectory has a kitchen with cooking machines, a freezer room and corridor with industrial dishwasher. There is also many kinds of food to populate the display unit in the refectory (entree, cake, cheese, main food). Of course there is empty place if you want to use other foods asset. There is also micro-wave modules to heat independant food from the metal tray in the add-on. (for exemple ramen bowl)
The bar is on three levels. The main level is where there is the bar, table, and a room for maintenance and stock. The lower level has two billiards and a room with big screen to watch sport event. The upper level has circular privacy table. There is also many kinds of bottle and glass to populate the bar. Materials of each liquid of all the bottles are available to be easily applied to each of the containers of the different types of glasses.
There is also one technical unit next to the refectory who lead to the maintenance side of the elevator of the central room.
On the central hall you will probably see 2 door high connected to nothing, it's normal it's for next add-on, i put them here and not in the next add-on to not have hole in the elevator asset. (elevator which will serve in next add-on too)
The "Bar" and "Refectory" 3D assets are "regionalized", so you can hide rooms, that are not visible on your rendering, using the geometry tab to save memory. Additionally, all the props of these 2 elements are grouped based on where they are located, so you can hide the group to hide all the props that are not visible in the render.
if you have any problem don't hesitate to ask here.
Renaming the assets of the Smart Content tabYou can rename products in Content Library>Products
Select the product, right-click select Rename, rename the product, click OK.
Edit: Existing metadata should be unaffected. I have no idea if changing the product name affects DIM, DAZ Central or DAZ Connect update notifications or if the product name will be changed back (if it's tracking the SKU for updates) if there is an update.
HELP: Changing Default install location of Daz3d using Daz CentralI would also like to not install Studio in the default location of C:\DAZ 3D but instead in C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4. But when I choose this location in Daz Central and click the Install button to install Studio, I get the attached error message. Anyone know how to fix this?
Is there a way to only download Carrara 8.5 pro?DAZ central would have to be the worst way possible (Connect it isn't even possible) to Download anything but DAZ studio used content
DIM gets 90% of Carrara and Poser content the rest you may need to do manually
Bryce forget DIM even
Is there a way to only download Carrara 8.5 pro?Daz has gone through every effort to make downloading Carrara as hard as possible. Is there a simpler way of downloading the software without going through through the Daz Central fiasco? Since i am back on PC, I can't help myself - gotta mess around in Cararra!!

Well it happens that one method or another is required for difrent installs. For instance somtimes content does not show up as avalible in Daz Studio, i have to then go into daz Central and find it in the list there install it, then it becomes avalible in Daz Studio to be installed.
That sounds wrong, and suggests there is an issue somewhere. Certainly if it does actually force you to instal through DS having installed through DIM/Daz Central.
Missing Asset FilesInstalling inside DS is the only method that doesn't work with all the products and that is because it uses non-traditional location for the installations.
If one uses DIM or DAZ Central to install the products, one is better off never logging in to DS to keep DAZ Connect inside DS from making a mess of the installations.
Missing Asset FilesAre you aware that Daz Central and installation from Daz Studio are totally independent, i.e. if you have it installed both from Daz Central and inside Daz Studio you will have it installed in 2 different places. And the installation from inside Daz Studio will take priority whether it works or not.

Missing Asset FilesI will have to compile a list as its spread out over many assets. As for my directory, it is as Daz set it on instalation, i have changed nothing. I use Daz Central and the install function in Daz it self.
Installation Issue: Installation will begin after previous installationsThis is my first install and I ran into this problem that I solved, that's all I did.
Reinstalling daz central, it didn't work.
Reinstalling daz central after uninstalling and deleting folders with CCclenner, it didn't work.
The same thing with a new account, it didn't work.
Same but with a new user, it didn't work.
Again, all this while taking care to delete the processes and to do a complete cleaning of the registry base of all the modifications made by daz central with dedicated software.
it finally works, here I post with the third account I created.
I think the technical service should look into the matter, finally, I said that I said nothing.
Missing products in DAZ CentralWooden Rowboats now lists in DAZ central however
https://www.daz3d.com/little-nook still does not.
Danny
When you delete a product is it all deleted? If it was installed through Daz Studio then right-click on the product>Uninstall. If installed through Install Manager or Daz Central then Install Manager can uninstall from its Installed tab. If you installed manually and imported the metadata then you would use the delete option you began with, and manually remove the files.
Help: Installing with DIM on drive DTrack3D said:
An update: after a few days and installing my DAZ content, my DS in Drive D seems to work fine, and is noticably easier to navigate due to a much simplified library structure (in comparison to what DAZ Central chose on my laptop).
I still have, for some reason, a ContentCluster in Roaming/DAZ 3D on drive C that is currently about 370 MB in size, in addition to the ContentCluster in the folder I created in drive D, which is currently 440 MB in size. I haven't looked at all into the question of why and what is redundant. I also didn't try to link Onedrive back yet.
I still consider where I want to install the content from Renderosity and others. Any suggestions?
What Richard said on the cms - if in doubt, check the date stamps on the files and folders.
I have a D:/3rd-party directory that I use for non-Daz content - defined as both Studio and Poser format to Studio. You'll need to be sure that your D:/library directory is the first (top) DAZ Studio format directory; some things that get created/saved by definition go into the first defined Studio directory, and some of them didn't play well if it wasn''t where the related item(s) were. At least that caused me issues five or so years ago; I don't know if that's still the case.
(I really wish notifications were working!)

Daz Studio InsallationDaz Connect does not conflict with other isntall methods, Install manager and daz Central do use the same detinations (but should see each others installations so that should avoid issues).
