  • Making this skirt longer?

First clear the Parameters search bar, then you'll see more parameters than only "scale".

If the outfit has no "skirt length" or similar morph I'm afraid you'll have to create your own morph(s).

  • What are the different ways to save a Dforce Hair simulation?

Here are the only two methods I know of so far.

Have a third one: dForce2Morph by RiverSoftArt. It's working on the "real" dForce hair variants - and probably on those hair products using the cloth dForce style, too - and adds a morph of the dForced hair to the hair. As it is a Merchant Resourse it can be used to produce morph packs to be sold, as the basic hair product isn't changed. And RiverSoftArt stated here that they don't object to giving them morphs away as freeware either.

Easy to use, too. Just run the simulation once (or as often as you need to, to get it looking perfectly) and then use the script. A morph will be made and the .dsf file will be saved in the data directiory with the name etc that you stated in the script box. Makes it easy to remove the morph in case of problems (hadn't any yet, though).

And the best thing is, it works for clothes, too.

You can also save those morphs for that hair item via puppeteer, so you can have multiple morphs in the same scene, or just save it as the hair's puppeteer asset!

Ohhh, that's a great tip. Thanks!

Emma & Jordi's morph are not gone, they just sell at Gumroad now. Google emma and jordi + gumroad, it will be the first result.

Thanks! Sadly I'm missing the llama morph and maybe a few others, but I have most of them. I'll see if I can pick up the llama during a sale.

There's a goat morph for Daz Horse 2 here, but it does depend on you owning a number of other morphs to work properly.

  • OBJ export/import settings?

Find a combo that works and then use the Save Preset button - you can then use the saem options, correctly inverted, for Import/Export/Morph Loader just by selecting the preset.

  • AI is going to be our biggest game changer

assumptions are being made based on personal usage

there definitely are people who prefer click and load and render readymade scenes

I have encountered them many times wanting to know exactly what was used in promotion images down to the expressions and hand poses

there are also AI art users who tweak and redo generations many times inpainting, resubmitting the results to img2img, edit it in an image editor, combine elements, painstakingly remove individual pixels (me in Gimp) before loading it into Crazytalk replacing inner mouth and eyes with edited CT textures to match

loading a depth map of the image into Zbrush as an alpha and converting alpha to mesh

Zremeshing and reuvmapping that to fit the image

rigging bits of the mesh and weightpainting in Carrara and using soft selection to create morph targets

yes I actually do all that

so no one size does not fit all

I show the wireframe in Carrara at the end of the video

That makes me sad. He's a great looking orc overall. Any chance ever being made available?

You could probably make your own fairly simply - just take the base resolution, base shape model into a modeller, delete any parts that are totally unneeded (the broken of parts) or unchanged (the other teeth, that tooth below the level of the break) then use the modeller to cut a break line through the remianing polygons, then extrude thee dge inward to give thickness. In DS import the break section as a new item (make sure to use the same preset in and out, and to repserve vertex order and polygon order on import/export in the modeller), use the transfer utility to rig it from the original teeth, and fit it to the teeth. Use the Geometry Editor to select all the polygons on the original tooth thata re to be removed or modified, right-click>Geometry Assignment>Set AutoHide Faces for Attachment (from memory) and seelct the modified tooth figure. With luck when you switch back top a regular posing tool you will havea  broken tooth, just copy the materials across and it should be done.

  • Rarestone gone? - part 2 - What's currently available

Luckily I think I bought out her whole store here except Minto Elder but then bought Minto Remaster on Rendo which I think is pretty similar. I was going to buy more on Rendo but didn't really check it out on time. So sad she's gone. Hopefully she's moved on to bigger and better things. Her morph packages were the best as were Emma & Jordy's which are now also gone. So glad I got all those morphs when I could. Another reason not to leave G8, I have so many great morphs!

  • OBJ export/import settings?

When you import something to Daz Studio for use of transfer rigging, it must default be in the right position, orientation and scale.

And there is a difference between blender and daz studio.

Blender has units in meter an DS has it in cm.

In blender Z is up, in DS Z is depth.

It doesn't matter if you change the orientation when exporting from blender or when importing to DS, as long as it load correctly in DS.

I use DS orientation (forward -Z, up Y) and blender scale for my obj files.

  • When enough is enough?

I think the problem is that DAZ keeps churning out the same stuff for every generation and if you've been here a while you already have everything you need in every genre they've offered. DAZ and PAs don't seem to want to create anything too niche because they're afraid it won't sell well. But I'm moving in the direction of only buying things I don't already have which is a rare find. Most PAs who do create interesting original looking characters tend to go in the horror genre which I'm not into. I do like some of Oso's animal products that are quirky and refreshing if not too much in the horror area but it's really hard to find anything really new and original in the store. I would love to see new imaginative creatures that are cute or beautiful and not horror and can mix well with other existing characters. More cute animals with good expressions, more really stylized characters that are not horror or monsters but can blend with other characters so it's not completely recognizable and you can still morph it. That's what I was hoping G9 would be but it's actually no different from G8, just worse for human characters. I'm still waiting for the promise that G9 can be anything when already G8F was made into a hedgehog!

  • OBJ export/import settings?

This is probably really simple, but I can't seem to find a quick, straightforward answer to my issue.
So, I'm trying to import some clothing from a game character into daz, I've already edited them to fit around the figure I need it for - but whenever I export it from blender as an OBJ and then import it into daz, the item is at a different angle/position than where it was in blender (usually laying horizontal, turned 180 degrees and also mirrored). It hasn't been an issue when I needed to simply import item files for a quick prop as I could just move them where I needed, but even with moving the item in its rightful position on the model when operating transfer utility it gets reversed to its original position and it messes with the rigging. So, what are the blender export/daz import settings supposed to look like for it to port in the right place?

  • War Witch - G9 or G8/8.1?????

I would definitely buy the G8.1 version and simply transfer it over to G9 as it's only a one-piece so there should be no problem with transferring it, as all of G8.1's clothing has bone rigs... That's what I plan to do anyway with my glut of G8.1 clothing, as backward capability is Daz's meat and potatoes after all!

Yeah, I'll get on the "buy both" wagon as well, as you can get it on sale, so that shouldn't be an issue.
