Write a web address to search for on the wayback machine and this place turns it into a hyper link.

FREE-WISH worked for me just now. I have 2 items from today's offerings and also 2 from yesterday. So I was covered no matter which way I went. It is a DO item.

Turns out it's only for selected items that happen to be wishlisted. It could be made clearer on the coupon page.

Who or whatever writes the text for these promotions needs to learn to write more clearly and concisely, period.  When people have to post in a forum every other day just to figure out what an ad blurb is actually trying to say, and then have to try to figure out if the sale is actually doing what it says it is, there is clearly a serious problem with the writer's communication skills.   In this case, just leading off with the "from your wishlist" as the main focus of the ad is even questionable, as the prime qualifiers for items to be eligible is that they first have to be DAZ originals, then fall below a certain full price range, and only then does the being in your wishlist part become relevant... and even then it seems that that can occur only if the items have passed some further qualifier to make those items eligible.  I note this because while I currently have have 15 DAZ Originals in my wishlist which are not new items and fall in the correct price range, none of them are eligible for either offer.

Started this project back in October and have been picking away at it every couple of days, posting to Military-Meshes, however the site is not very active anymore, so I finally decided to start posting here...

End goal, if Carrara will cooperate is to eventually create a multi-ship formation animation similar to this one I did with a C-130J Super Hercules... of course then I'll have to make either a P-51D Mustang or P-47 Thunderbolt to escort it.

Tools of Choice: DAZ3D Carrara 8.5 Pro | Photoshop CS 6
    ART STATION | IMAGESHACK | MILITARY-MESHES

    kickajet,

I wanted to voice my interest in your project. I'm an on-and-off Blender user, and never found the time to put enough effort to learn 3D modeling. I've always felt there was a dearth of examples here in the Daz Forum that showcase 3D work. And now with GenAI ... does this mean that hand-crafted 3D modeling is on its last leg? sad

To the best of my knowledge, the Hex Gallery thread is the only one that's going strong. Excellent work there! The takeaway for me is that a software tool being "old" doesn't really matter as much as the vision and the skill the 3D modeler brings to the task.

So, please, by all means, keep posting your progress.

    Cheers!

There are a few interesting ones in QG.

    XI Roman Forum for $0.99

dForce Indian Bride Outfit for Genesis 9

CNB Parah HD for Genesis 8.1 Female

    Cheyenne Braids for Genesis 9

    etc...

The only problem is that some of them are part of a bundle, so if I buy them now, I won't buy the bundle later...

ps: Beware of editorial licences in QG.

If you have items in a bundle, you get credit for that proportion of the price if ever you buy the bundle itself in a "regular" sale, i.e., not a fixed-price deal. I did that a lot after the Starter and Pro bundles were re-arranged into Character and HD Add-on bundles (and recently the overlapping Outfit bundles), where some items were dropped and new ones added to the pool. It was cheaper to buy the new bundle to get the one new item than getting the new item separately, like those time-limited alternate shapes that were only available the first day, which were eventually added to the new bundles.

    Cool.

BTW, the script doesn't work on daz3d.com/catalogsearch/result... This is the URL if you search in the search box in the upper right of the shop. Is it supposed to work there?

Ah I see, yeah you're right, it doesn't work there. The search page doesn't seem to use any of the filtering that most pages on the store use, which I assume is because it was built a long time ago and never got updated to support any of the modern filtering/infinite scroll features (hence why the page needs to reload whenever a filter is applied). So yeah, no way for the script to work there.

You know, I could technically convert the bookmarklet into a browser plugin, and host the data that the site doesn't provide (primarily, product names and full prices). Then I would be able to add a search function and a proper sort by discount. But then I'd probably need to paywall the feature, since it would require ongoing maintenance to update this data. Not sure that it's something I want to pursue.

Richard means Art Studio (one i) winkforum section. Your thread is in the right place already. That is where my Jack and Richard thread lives, too. It is where we put our "artistic" renders.

Your signature link to this thread doesn't work for me, though. I get a Server Not Found error. The name of the link looks OK, but the actual URL that it links to is "http://tps//www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/751076", which is invalid. It looks like just a typo in the actual URL in the link. It should link to URL "https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/751076" I think.

How about a text search that works on NAME? Even simply "contains" would be enough. No need for regex or something fancy

A text search/filter is not possible, the site data doesn't provide a full list of product names, only product IDs. At best, I could add a search for items that you just loaded to the page, but that's not much more useful than Ctrl + F in the browser. Your best bet would be to petition Daz to improve the site search.

At least they have added things recently. But most of my problems these days are the items that aren't correctly metadata'd.

...would love to filter by figure generation like Gen 4, G9, etc.  Renderosity and Renderhub do that much better than here as the store search leaves something to be desired.

Can't you already do this using the "Figures" filtering panel on the left? If you mean that some items are miscategorized, that would be a data issue that Daz would need to fix themselves. Since I'd be using the same data, whatever I would make wouldn't be any better.

On a side note, I did make a search script for Daz Studio that lets me nearly instantly find any item or product that I own by searching my product library (with regex support). But given that it's a bit of a hack in that it hijacks the Smart Content UI panel, I don't think Daz would let me sell it here. Adding a proper UI panel is on my to-do list!

I had Windows Search Indexing turned on - it was using up nearly 38 gigs of space. Turned it off.

Also had a program called PDFill PDF Writer (Free) installed. When I found an article on the web I wanted to keep track of I was printing out a PDF of that article with it.

It was storing temp files everytime I used it, generating over 20 gigs of temp files.

  • Hair that moves G9

Too many hair assets are extremely stiff. The figure bends over and the hair remains parallel to the spine no matter how much gravity or wind or reduced friction you throw at it in a simulation. Even hair that purports to be "dForce" can just cling to the head. Maybe the hair has a blow back style you try, and it remain blown in that specific direction.

What are some good hair assets for G9 that will actually obey gravity if the figure leans or bends over or hangs upside down? There are forum threads for ancient hair and a few G8 assets. But I'm looking for G9 assets.

    Thanks.

I'm not surprised Brahms' eighth is unfinished, considering he iis known to have written only four full symphonies (plus two serenades)

Thank you.  (*Sigh*) Today is not a good day.sad  Brain slipping gears again.  I'm positive about the Tchaikovsky: Serenade for Violins, but of course I meant the Schubert Unfinished symphony, as the other record.  No excuses, just a slippy brain.  Error retrieving stored data, insufficient error checking before output,  typing fingers in motion before brain in gear, insufficient error checking after transmission.  Predicted by calendar appointments in error.  I'll chalk it up to too many bloody noses.  Yeah, that's the ticket.  It's the bloody noses, loss of blood, holes in my head.sad

Note to Self:  Self, just live in the moment, stop trying to dig up the past, stop trying to pave the future, now is all that exists.  Convince yourself.  Enjoy.

Interesting though:  When I was originally writing that first post, my mind was deciding whether it was Schubert's 8th or 9th symphony, which is called the "Unfinished".  Because there is still some confusion about whether his "Great Symphony in C Major" although finished and published, is number 8 or number 9.  See I told you the world is out of phase.  Now, if only I could have held on to the composer's name during my decision process.  Oy!indecision  Slippy, slippy, slippy.

And speaking of bloody noses, just now got another one.crying

    A few moments later...

As Further Proof: Of brain slippage:  On a previous occasion I've caught myself describing in detail the musical flow of Beethoven's 6th Symphony aka: the "Pastoral" Symphony, when I meant his "Pathetique" sonata.  Different worlds of sound.  Orchestral picturesque summer picnic day(complete with a brief mid-afternoon thunderstorm in the 4th of 5 movements) vs., a violent high speed attack by solo piano.blush  And of course I have, on occasion, confused Beethoven's Pathetique, with Tchaikovsky's Pathetique.  Both symphonies, both numbered 6.  A sedate happy picnic day vs., mental turmoil and war commentary.  (*Sigh*) Question everything I say.indecision  There are days I feel like the opening two minutes of the Tchaikovsky Pathetique.

Unless that was deliberate you seem to have tripped over the Pastoral/Pathetique thing again.

I think there is some dispute over whether in fact the Schubert Unfinished is in fact just the Schubert missing parts. One of the completioniists calims (I haven't verified, not reading German) that he had entered a full symphony in a contest, then asked for the score to be returned as he wanted parts for another project - the argument is that that was the incidental music for Rosamunde, one part of which is the missing third movemnt; that doesn't account for the last movement, but the completionist had a draft of a finale that fitted - which isn't complete, and may not be what Schubert actually used even if it is related. As I said, this may not be true but it does at least sound as if some of the more romatic explanations for the incompleteness may not be entirely well-grounded.

In case this hasn't been reported yet: Several core figures lost their "Product Add-ons" sections:

Victoria 4.2 Base, Michael 4 Base, Stephanie 4 Elite Base, Aiko 4 Base, Hiro 4 Base

    Genesis: Michael 5, Victoria 5,

    Genesis 2: Victoria 6, Michael 6, Josie 6, Stephanie 6, Gianni 6, Mei Lin 6, Aiko 6, Lilith 6

    Genesis 3: Michael 7, Aiko 7, Victoria 7

Genesis 8: Here I only checked and found: Victoria 8, Michael 8, didn't look any further.

Could that be please reported, please,  as I find these sections are very helpful?

Daz Dog 8 also lost the product add-ons section:

    https://www.daz3d.com/daz-dog-8

If it's mainly for figures with a lot of add-ons, maybe it's a performance saving change? But I hope they'll revert back to the previous situation or offer a way to browse add-on for a figure.

Actually, they also suppressed the add-on section of Genesis 9 Starter Essentials, but this is a *very very very good* thing.

Making any G9 figure/outfit an addon of Genesis 9 Starter Essentials was extremely stupid. First, loading the G9 starter essential page with its addon section composed of 20k+ elements was (how can I say) ... an interesting experience... If you have tried recently, you know what I mean. But, this is now fixed

But, if any G9 item is already an addon, it completely breaks the search of real dependencies. For instance, with "daz deals" you can find in a big list of assets which ones are addons of items that you already own.  Very useful, indeed. But if all G9 items are already addons of G9 essentials, this is a useless information that masks real addon dependencies as all G9 assets will appear in the list. And this problem is not fixed...

This prompted me to look and confirm that this feature is also lost for Daz Horse 2 and 3, the original Ultrascenery, and likely many other comparable products. That, IMHO, is a bad thing that needs to be fixed. I own pretty much all of the add-ons for items like these, but when I was building my Daz collection, I made a lot of use of picking up add-ons when on sale. As a newbie, I wouldn't even have known about all the cool add-ons that were available for some things without this feature.

Oh I really hope this is some kind of temporary glitch or a reversible mistake. I've used the feature several times to pick up extras for a base figure like the horse or the dog.

    Please Daz change your mind!

I'm still not sure what it is that is broken, which makes it hard to report. It isn't a Daz Deals feature?
