Your Hallowe'en Wishes...
I remember putting out a suggestion for a Hllowe'en-themed version of Horse 2, actually. A skeletal horse. It already has an emaciated morph and someone should be able to do something more with that. I don't think anybody's ever done Iray textures for it, like Dragon 3 had got (and I'd still love more Iray skins for Dragon 3, especially a realistic purple one). Maybe a glowing Iray emissive to make it seem spectral?
With the recent game, 'Total War - Warhammer', I was hoping to see it inspire some of the content creators around here. It's got some fantastic skeletal horses, vampiric knights and so forth. I could just picture some of those sorts of concepts with optional emissive Iray effects.

Surprised nobody's yet done a full-on mix-and-match set for creating Cenobite-like characters and costumes, too! 'Hellraiser' got some love from Sickleyield, with her 'Strands Of Horror' and I'd love to see some Genesis 3 and Iray-compatible stuff showing up along those lines.
Hand morph for Genesis(1)?There are also a number of finger number modification morphs (4, 3 & 2) included with DarioFish's HFS shape packs for Genesis & G2F over at Renderosity, and those packs include corresponding toe morph sets as well.
How to? Custom Star Wars morphs for M4 and V4I spent an hour or so fiddling with the toughest of the morphs - The Gungan. It's not so much that the geometry isn't there to do it, it's that the resulting morph is going to have issues. It will need some rigging changes, which means a custom CR2. (I don't know how to inject customized rigging changes.) And, the UV map is going to be horribly stretched in some places, particularly between the top lip and bottom of the nose. There's enough geometry around the mouth to stretch it out, but it may as well be remapped, as well, so it can be textured better. The eyeballs can be used, with CR2 adjustments, but some stalks will need to be made and the original eye "holes" moved to the top of the head so the stalks can come out of them. The ears can provide some geometry and can be combined into the mesh fairly well, but it'll need separate ears. Facial morphs will likely produce weird results, but that's not too bad considering it's not human, anyway. The biggest problem is the mouth - It can open/close, but even something as simply as smiling will cause weird changes because of how the verts are stretched.
IOW - It's "doable", but the end result is probably not worth the amount of effort it would take. It's probably better to just do a whole new head rather than a morph. The Gungan head is like a crocodile's, which is a fair distance away from being "human."
If you can point me to where you found the Gungan head study object, I can see if I can rig it so you can get some movements out of it and such, maybe even some simple expressions and the like. (If you'd like, that is. If not, then that's fine, too.)
I started on the toughest, first. The other's aren't so difficult and should be fairly easy to get a "decent" result from. No promises, since whenever I promise something, yada yada yada.. But, I'll keep tinkering with it.
May the Swartz be with you! Up the Universe! So long and thanks for all the fish! ;)

"My Country, 'Tis of Thee", whose melody is identical to "God Save the Queen",
In a version hand-written by Francis Scott Key in 1840, the third line reads "Whose bright stars and broad stripes, through the clouds of the fight"Lyrics
O say can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming,
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there;
O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?Little known fact, that I probably just made up... Francis Scott Key's original melody was intended for the electric guitar, which back then was know as the "Electroharpismatron" and was powered by lightning, as it was originally invented by Benjamin Franklin while he was experimenting with reanimating dead horses. Few people know that the version Jimmy Hendrix preformed was far closer to the original, than any other versions in between.
i start singin it, when i sing it 'Ain’t He Sweet' comes out okay,
then lyrics morph - 'sweet walks merrily down the street, brim pulled way down low', then he bites the dust.
started out a happy songAh yes... That was actually how Franklin used to sing it while he was playing it on his Electroharpismatron with his teeth... Actually it was Washington's old wooden teeth, which he was using as pick.
Isn't history great?...
Nobody cares about it or learns from it, so you pretty much can make anything up and some idiot will believe it... Just turn on the TV, you'll see... Go ahead... I dare you.
Its awesome.
ise havent had tv since they turned off the analog. was best diet ever, less snacking lol
vaccuum tubes, landfill fodder
A wise decision indeed.
Both ways. And my chair didn't recline. And we liked it that way.

We didn't have a TV... All we had was an old Jack Daniels box with a hole cut out in the front... We filled it with rats and they acted out scenes from Gilligan's Island... And the rats weren't even in color, just grey and they kept forgetting their lines... And we like it that way too...
Headshop weirdnessAlso note that even for FaceGen Pro if you use something like 'autolevels' in Photoshop or Gimp to adjust the lighting in your photos that can reduce the detail in your pictures and thereby cause a lack of depth in the geometry of the face models FaceGen generates from your pictures.
It's somewhat subtle because the FaceGen face still looks like the person in the photograph at the correct angles but when you start looking at the Facegen faces at other angles you go 'wait a minute' something is not quite right. So lesson learned - one frontal and one side shot and non-adjusted in a photoediting SW for those pictures or one non-adjusted photo in a photoediting SW at a slight angle from straight ahead gives you the best results with FaceGen Pro.
Facegen has some really nice morphing tools in it. I like the feature to morph directly on the head. Just CTRL click on the head shape and move that spot around. It lets you really fine tune your final morph before sending it to Daz. I found that as a great compliment to the typical slider morph, or trying to align morph points on the photo.
You can use GIMP/PS to fix uneven lighting in the source, but you just need to be careful. Overly exposed pictures will wash out details. Perfect skin will also be tricky for either app to pick up face geometry sometimes.
My favorite aspect of Facegen is that it gives you an entire set of body textures. These textures are based of the default textures of the figure that you choose. It does a nice job of smoothly integrating them, so they blend in nicely without needing too much texture editing. That makes it much easier to get a body tone that matches the head. And you can adjust your color and white balance of the textures all at once in Daz itself from the surface tab to get the color right.
Daz Studio and LinuxAs soon as I'm done transferring files, I'm planning to do a step by step with screenshots on how I installed DS on my system for my Lab thread. Does anyone want the same tutorial posted here or just a link to my thread?
Hi Knittingmommy,
A link will work for me. And thanks I hope your file transfer goes smoothly.
Hand morph for Genesis(1)?http://www.daz3d.com/genesis-creature-creator-bodies has a morph called "ThreeFinger" which I would think works the same as the three finger morphs in other Creatute Creator packs. I am not a my rendering computer or I could verify this.
Hand morph for Genesis(1)?I'm looking for pieces to kitbash some characters and I was wondering if there's a hand morph or geo-graph for genesis 1 that will take the hand from 5 fingers down to 3 (perhaps by merging or hiding 2 of the fingers?) I've not found anything yet although now that I'm typing this, I kind of recall something maybe similar that was posted a while back.
Adding Object to existing ObjectA morph is just the pushing or pulling of existing vertices in the model to create a new shape, you cannot add or remove geometry. Import just the wings in to Studio and rig them, they then can be parented to any figure.
Adding Object to existing ObjectHello!
I want to make an angel and therefore give genesis 3 male some wings. Now I designed the wings in blender. I export the g3m from daz3 with subd=0 as .obj and import it in blender with keep vert oder & poly groups. I positionate the wings in blender on g3m and afterwards export it ofc with correct settings as already seen in:
http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/51207/solved-create-morphs-in-blender-for-dazI hoped that it will work with Morph Loader Pro but always same warning: Geometry did not match, failed to create morph.
So the question:
Is it possible to add an Object to an other Object using Blender and using it as a morph in Daz3d?
If no is there an other way?
Thanks Sincerely
Gobo
DAZ to FBX - Morph issuesJust bought everyday props on Daz to use a morphable spring.
Created my animation then exported as .fbx (making sure animation and morphs checked) then imported into sketchfab. Spring is not morphing.
Sketchfab notes some issues which say spring animations have been dropped.
Tried animating the spring in Carrara 8.5 and exported. Works fine in Sketchfab.
Are there known issues with DAZ exporting morph animations in fbx format?
mcjElasticSim - much awaited script for verlet based dynamics ( bounces )note that you can also re-position the simulator's base node "manually"
do it when the timeline is at frame 0, to avoid having the base node move during the simulation
if you select the simulator 'sim' node, you can also set it's initial position ( at frame 0 )
if you go in the daz studio parameters tab for the 'sim' node, you will find all the simulation parameters in a sub-section named mcjSomething
you could tweak the parameters there too
----------
when you intend to target a specific morph or joint rotation, it's better to test them manually
so you can see the limits and the ranges
some breast morphs have a usable range of -100% to 100% ( -1 to 1 in mcjElasticSim parlance ) others need -800% to 800% !
in the case of Genesis 3 i think, i had some confusing results when "driving" the 'pectoral' joints, but it's worth the try
----
personally for limb animations i use rotations and avoid tranlations
You got further than me Ruphuss
Somethings gone awry here, on phase 1, chest selected but the simulator appears by Aiko4's feet
no hi def bounce action .. i mean verlet based dynamic simulations for me tonight
Graphmate Graph Doesn't AppearIn order to see the lines in Graphmate, you have to first select a node (like, thigh or leg). Afterwards while in it - in the Parameter Tab - you can hover your mouse over a parameter (like Bend, Twist or a Pose Control/Morph) and you will notice it gets high-lighted. That parameter will now appear as a curve in GraphMate.
You can select several Parameters at once by holding CTRL while hovering over them. (no clicking required).
Does this answer your question?

They haven't used vaccuum tubes for TVs in quite a few years! Long before they switched to all digital broadcasts.

...the "Archie Bunker" colour Zenith television we had when I was growing up still had vacuum tubes. So did the big German multiband radio on the stand next to my bed. Helped keep the room nice and warm on those cold winter nights.

}Is Bryce dead or alive ?Stopping by with the pitiful hope that out of the ashes, Bryce might rise again on the MAC platform. At least it lives in discussion. I so miss it. I had to move to the MAC. But I now can't use Corel anything. I don't care about the politics. I would just like to know about ubstitues. Eveything I did with landscapes and environments for my 3d characters had to do with Bryce. I'm willing to learn. I can't afford a backup PC. I'm not even sure 1) that would work 2) my history with both would transfer to less expensive software - I'm behind as a beta tester for upgrades. Whatever. This is a loss. What is anyone who had to make the move to MAC doing - anyone who was a diehard PhotoPaint or and Bryce user? You should see my object lliraries! :) :(

How to show parameters from child nodes of figure on parent level?Yes I can use ExP exorter or re export as cr2. if I need to keep them as cr2.
but I prefer to change it as new dsf and duf, if I need to save morph, or export it as new figure, and the figure is simple rigging and weight maps. (enviroment , machine etc)
eg, I can not modify cr2 weight map in daz studio with node map editor tool.
if he plan to offer it as new prodcut for daz studio, , I really hope he offer it as dson too.
As user (customer) side, there are many reason, I do not prefer cr2 scene set, for daz studio.
