Post Your Renders like it's the year 2020!!!
Many thanks to Misty! Now my avatar morphing works in Carrara with pose controls. The main problem for me is very long saving. Maybe I must save all internally?

Looks a lot like you, doesn't it? So... do all of the shape dials we might buy for G3 work on those?
It refers to the time when I had long hair. Now I am looking much more like on the image «after».
As for Janette and Johnathon, they support not only all those Kenji-Menji but all the morphs that I created for them at the moment.
I thought so. She does look a lot like you! Hair or no hair... exception being that the real you looks much better ;)
I agree with Head Wax, you do incredible art. Truly magnificent!

is too frigging hot here still so I render cooler climes
Kick Ass video, Wendy! Love the Dolly Zoom!
I had very little time, and some conversations I've been in have driven me to compare my Generation 4 heroes with my Genesis 2 heroes, and I've noticed some spectacular differences where the realism of the modern figures come with a massive 'time' hit. They seem to take forever to load and work with and save - whereas my Generation 4 heroes are very reliably fast to load, work with, save and render. This will not deter me from moving forward. I'll keep trying to find ways to work with the modern figures. But I'll always have to come back to my trusty Generation 4 when I'm in a hurry!Ha! I was just going to congratulate you on the realism of your genesis 2 character! Totally fooled me. It just shows that M4 has a lot of life left, and in the right hands he can be pretty darn realistic (in animation too, as demonstrated by stringtheory9).
I have the same experience as you with genesis. Really slows everything down.
Thanks Man! Yeah... I like the whole 4th Gen line-up still. Agree that the new are better, but still like these too! ;)
yes its all the unused morphs
I must look in my notepad if I can strip them out somehow for the notebook hack thread
I was going to experiment:
Manually download certain Genesis (whatever version) shapes and install them into an individual library, and repeat for other shapes. For example, make a separate My Library for only the items I want to use the create and support my Genesis 2 Female Rosie character - only the shapes I need, only the clothing, hair, textures, etc., and then call it My Rosie 6 Library.
Each such library would also need at least the bare-bones Genesis figure of the correct version. But since the principle is to keep the overall morph dials to a minimum, we could go further with the same library and include specifics for a Genesis 2 Male character, Genesis 1 character, and a Genesis 3 of each gender. If that was the case I'd of course name the library different than the main example... but....
I'm just wondering if that would indeed limit the number of morph dials on the specific Genesis figure, or if CMS database would auto-add anything we had installed. Worth a try for those currently working toward making a specific Genesis character.
One of the things that I like better about Generation 4 is the INJ/REM system.
They say that the dials don't actually add weight to the character unless they're changed from 0.00, but they're still there, in the list. Sometimes my reasoning for being specific on which morphs I install has more to do with a tidy collection of dials rather than a RAM weight issue.
Anyway, I really think that my above experiment would work as a benefit.
READY ! Spring Things #7 : Strappy shoes for Aiko3 ( new version 2 )tonight i'll post a revised version of the prop that corrests the small'ish issue pointed here
but i have to transfer some morphs to it and that's easier said than done
How to update Gen 4 figures with .bat files from zip? When I installed my Gen 4s into Poser on my old computer, they were in .exes and it would then run an initializing program to update the figures. I had an update program it would remind me to run every time I installed a set of morphs, and that would update the figure to make special places for those morphs, and everything was nice and neat and organized.
Now I have a new computer, so I downloaded my products again and this time the base figures are in a zip file with no exe to install them. I don't have any trouble with where to put things, I know that drill. What I need to know is how to get those .bat files to update the figure to accept new morph sets like Creature Creator, Hiro, etc. When I load morphs right now they all just pile up in a jumbled list and there's no separation (i.e. Eye, Eyeball, Nose, Mouth). So figure updating has changed and I need to know how to get it to work.
Mech/tank interior, suggestions what do you do?Tank interiors are pretty utilitarian and straight forward. However, I think the reason for a lack of mecha cockpits is that no one really knows how the pilot would transfer the commands to the mech. There's the "Pacific Rim" version where the nerve impulses of the pilot (and movement in that movie) were translated to the mech. There are some with nearly aircraft cockpits (not sure how they'd translate). My preference is the neural connection. If that is the case, then the command center would simply be a pilot's seat, neural interface, and several readouts (systems and environment).
The They Stuck Gears on my Convoy Whinging Complaint ThreadI know the title says “complaint” in the title but this also seems to be the appropriate place for whatever weird thoughts enter one’s head, so I thought I’d infect you all share…
For a long time I’ve had the 3D-hobby induced visual illusion that the sky is actually being projected on a huge dome nearly every time I go outside, but to that I have now added weird modeling-based dreams. I halfway woke up early this morning and found myself convinced that a strange shadow on the wall was due to overlapping polygons, and I actually reached out my arm like I could fix it before I completely woke up and realized how crazy that was. I have also recently found myself idly speculating about the weight mapping on the real-world clothing of people around me.
On an unrelated note (?), you know how sometimes you read a word so many times that it suddenly loses all meaning and just looks and sounds bizarre/wrong? I achieved that with the word “morph” this past week. The more you say it the less it sounds like a real word!
Maybe I need to take a break from the 3D for a while.

Daz studio not functioningI closed all security software and my firewall has been off, no change. to clarify, the mouse moves freely but the delay is in the software itself when I switch between ANY pane (not just content) and when I try to do anything, click a menu, move the scene camera (again no scene loaded), or move morph dials. The only time it functions speedily is in every pane but the scene view they will work after I've waited the delay and not moved to another pane.
Button and Belt rigidityA Rigidity Map does nothing for distortions caused by posing - its job is to protect the mesh when a morph that is sued on the figure and is not on the fitted item is projected into the fitted item. There are ways to protect hard parts from bending-induced distortion, but they can have issues. On approach is simply to make sure that the weights across the rigid item are uniform, but that then is likely to need mutliple morphs to stop the rigid section digging into the rest of the fitted item (or even the base figure) - and it is applicable over a limite area (you coldn't really make a whole belt solid, for example0. Another option, for items like buttons that have a very small area of attachment, is to use a Rigid Follow node. However, both approaches are fiddly (pushing up development time and item cost) and have a good chnace of requiring adjustments in posing (making the item more complex to use).
Novica & Forum Members Tips & Product Reviews Pt 8Hey folks, @Kayleyss changed the lip normal maps on Jenn and Trish (and kept the old ones for those who liked them) and explains what to do in this thread. She made it a morph. If you'll recall, we discussed the line in the bottom lip. Very thoughtful!
Actually, I think Kayleyss is a male. At least, that's what it says on his DA page where you can get the hairs for both characters as freebies if no one has seen the post yet in the freebies forum. Also, the choker that one of them is wearing is also there as a freebie download.

Cool, I bet she did this in response to your original post! Yeah, edit, he, not she.

No man today....Fairies do not tend to get male counterparts.
It shouldn't be hard to morph one though with some fairy ears and a youthful skin texture : )Modifier invocationI ran a few more tests in the debugger to see what was happening. With the Immediate Update Channel the changeData was often valid but could only be queried to be an I3DShPrimitive when the primitive was actually opened into a modeler window - as with the module sample. I couldn't find what the interface in the changeData was for other changes in that channel in response to other actions.
With the Tree Property Change Channel the changedData was able to query for the I3DShTreeElement and that tree can be compared to one you are watching for. I tested with a figure but couldn't narrow it down to a single specific changeKind signal after finishing the move of a bone or morph dial setting. It seemed to be sending a change for all of the bones !
It sounds like you are on the right track now if the tree->PostMoveChange(true) only generates one change in response to the right changeKind signal.
My Project: Brash Lonergan adventures - Warning AI Discussion PossibleSome helpful resources for Fenric ERC, which is sold here in the Daz store.
1 - a helpful guide can be found at Carrara Cafe -
carraracafe.com/wp-content/ERC-made-easy/CarraraERC.pdf
2 - Conrad3DC has a great facial morph tutorial for Daz figures at Carrara Cafe - http://carraracafe.com/articles/erc-made-easy-enhancing-facial-realism/
3 - PhilW controls wing parts with ERC in his advanced tutorial videos.
Now, if I can just apply these lessons correctly, I can make some enhancements to Brash's hands and face for poses and expressions. Have finally left the concept stage behind and am constructing the final figures. Yay! Despite feeling out of my depth, am pretty happy with how Brash is working out. Should be feeling much more confident when it comes time to finish the final Moxie figure.
Even though my personal project is for a comic or graphic novel, have to admit that I want to do some test animations when I get the Brash figure finished.
Killer Legs Morphs for Genesis 3 Female(s)That's a tough one. This is the best I could do just with Shape Shift and used Daz's Height morph.
Thanks for trying, @Zev0. And thanks for the settings. I've mostly been trying for large ankles, and you're the only one who gave us an ankle size morph, but large calves usually accompany large ankles, and that combination has been really tricky for me.
AIUTO...CHI CONOSCE L’ITALIANO? PARTE UNDICI@ Alvino
@ MuscleMan
Spero che sia SOON per davvero... I bug di DAZ e di Genesis3 mi stanno uccidendo!READY ! Spring Things #7 : Strappy shoes for Aiko3 ( new version 2 )sometimes i regretted not making the platforms, say, 2cm tall
so you will get a platform height adjustment morph !!
READY ! Spring Things #7 : Strappy shoes for Aiko3 ( new version 2 )aaaaaaaaaaaaaalmost ready
i added a "swister" morph to the shoe props, so you wont be forced to lock the foot node
Jenn HD Trish HDI create a preset to smooth lower lip for Jenn and Trish. Here is how it works:
This preset change the Normal Map and ADD a morph that smooth the lower lip. It has to be apply after put makeups because if you apply makeup afte the smooth preset the old Normal Map will comeback.
So there will both the old morph by default, and possibility to smooth lower lip

Here attached Trish and Jenn with and without smooth
Awesome! That looks really good! Thank you, Kayleyss!
Carrara Sale Email Message Alert threadBTW anyone know if the trees in the merlin tree bundle can morph for different shapes? I am gussing no since it is not mentioned, but sometimes they are left out of the description.
Novica & Forum Members Tips & Product Reviews Pt 8Just realized the problem with Dale. It isn't his cost, but that I'd need $27 in morph packs to actually make him work.
I think the lack of glitches this sale will see a decrease in total gross sales. Of course, if the PAs weren't getting any money, I don't think they'll care how much volume was lost.
