MimicMolly's Renders & WIPs
For X-Morphs, I only wanted to transfer the heads so using these free methods is probably the best choice for me. Most of my characters are human and their bodies can be recreated fairly easily with the body morphs I own.
MimicMolly's Renders & WIPsA while back, I was on the fence about getting X-Morphs but I stumbled upon this mini-tutorial that helped me split the characters' head more cleanly. I had originally used this other tutorial by a-sennov on deviantART, to transfer the characters to G8F. This is Joanne G3F by Freja, from Renderosity, who had a very uniquely-sculpted head. Obviously, half-A pose is G8F and half-T pose is G3F. The outfit is Fantasy Ornaments by Aeon Soul and Cat Hair by Valea.
Please Help with Transfer Utility Tool !!!I think that is due to the shape projection - both reversing out the shape you modelled around, to get back to the base shape for rigging, and then projecting the morph into the clothing once it is rigged. If you are applying a single morph to the base figure you could try loading your original OBJ as a morph target - find the morph you are using in the Parameters pane, click the gear icon on the slider>Parameter Settings, and copy the name (not the lable). Make a copy of your OBJ and paste the copied morph name into its name. Now Edit>Figure>Morph Loader Pro, Choose Morph Files and select the OBJ, click the triangle next to the file name to access options, right-click on Make Unique next to Overwrite existing and select Deltas Only, make sure the From button at the top lists the same preset as you used to load the OBJ for rigging, and see how that works.
Please Help with Transfer Utility Tool !!!Okay, so that worked...but still having some issues...
Instead of keeping the proper draping, like I have it in Marvelous Designer, it is form fitting it to the body when I use the Transfter Utility Tool. Is there a way to get the draping to look like I have it in Marvelous Designer?
Currently with Transfer Utility Tool:

You can see that it is much more form-fitted which is not what I want...It SHOULD look like this:

Is there a way to get this look? I think it's almost shrink-wrapping the clothes to the figure when it resizes from the Genesis 3 generic model to my morphs. Can I prevent this or make it go back to the original somehow?
Help would be amazing! Thank you <3
Getting renders to match promo imagesMerged threads since they are essentially the same topic - getting a result sinilar to the promo images.
As well as using the right render engine, 3D elight or Iray, a big factor is lighting - if you want to show relief detail, whether it's added by bump or displacement or HD morph, requires a soemwhat directional light - a very diffuse ambient light comng from all directions will then to flatten detail in the render. As an experiment, try adding a spot-light shining at the figure from front left or front right (you can do this by selecting the light in a view selector button at top-right and using the viewport controls to show a suitable view of the figure), then switch back to your camera (or the perspective view) and try a render - if you are using Iray go to redner Settings, in the Editor tab under Environment set the mode to Scene Only and in Tone Mapping turn the ISO up to something like 1600.
Using 3D elight the result is different, but I only get a soft relief skin.
I will follow your light and other instructions.
Thanks, Xavi
Genesis 3 gets deformed when posingOK, since zeroing the shape fixes it that means a morph is being applied on load - if you load a base figure (not a character), select the figure, and in the Parameters pane's Editor tab click Currently Used, what is listed?
Richard, While on this subject, suppose a slightly different scenario: Currently Used shows some smile morphs imported with GenX2 from G2F. I believe these smile morphs are controllers. Is there a way to determine which base morphs are used? That might solve a somewhat related problem I'm currently having similar to the OPs.
If you open the Parameter Settings dialogue from the gear icon on the slider and look at the Sub-components tab that will show the morphs (and other things) triggered by the controller.
morphing help pleaseHmm, well the description is clear - but I've no idea why it would happen like that. Please try exporting the modified shape as OBJ from Hexagon, then use Morph Loader Pro to bring it in as a morph (click the Select Files button and find the OBJ, check the preset is set to Daz Studio I would think, then in the lower section click the triangle next to the OBJ name to expand options and turn Reverse Deformations on by right-click).

morphing help pleaseThanks
Im not certain what you mean by "applying the shape", I send the figure that I want to modify to hexagon from daz studio, and it appears as the correct shape there.
I then tweek the figure until I get what I want, and then send it back to Daz studio.
Daz Studio then asks if I want it to be a morph, and I select yes and I get a dial named whatever I call it.
Then if I turn the dial, supposedly to apply just the morph, the figure reverts more and more to the base G3 figure, and I loose the origional figure before I sent it to Hexagon- does that make sense?

morphing help pleaseThanks for the reply, appreciated.
When the morph is exported daz asks if you want it as a morph. I enter yes and I get a slider named whatever I called it.
Problem is that when I turn the new morph dial in daz the figure reverts to the base G3 (with a corrupted figure from the morph), and not the figure I sent to hexagon and tweeked - I hope that makes sence!
Do you have the shape applied? The morph you create will only be the the changes you make in Hexagon. I'm not sure how applying a morph could suddenly clear all other morphs (it would at least take some fancy ERC-coding).
Please Help with Transfer Utility Tool !!!If the target shape uses scaling you need to redo without the scaling, I think. If there's no scaling involved, just a morph, apply the shape to you figure and then in the transfer Utility set Source Shape to Current, and in the additional options check the reverse Source Shape from Target box.
Character Transfer ToolThat is it! Thanks BeeMKay. I was searching for the wrong thing. That is the one I was thinking of and it is in my cart.
Now an add on question. I have a character I made using Fantasy Creature Morphs for Genesis 3 Female. I am going to try the manual morph copy technique to copy the morphs only to Genesis 8. Any ideas or tips on copying over characters made on GEN 3 to GEN 8?
How to Use dForce: Creating a Blanket, Draping Clothes on Furniture, and Much More [Commercial]It already exists, Crios, you just have to look a bit in the net.
Also, after seeing all these techniques and tricks, I wonder why the DForce stauff is still "for someone"... I mean, a DForce shirt can be fitted to ANY char, why bind it to a single char (and often a single morph)?
Character Transfer ToolYou mean this one? https://www.daz3d.com/victoria-7-for-victoria-8
There are others by the same vendor. https://www.daz3d.com/gravity-studios
It's not a transfer tool, but has the actual morph and a texture for V8 that looks like the V7 one.
Character Transfer ToolSomewhere I saw a product, that could trasfer the look of Victoria 7 to Victoria 8. Now that I need it, I can not find it. I remember it had promo images of Victoria 7 'look' on Victroia 8 , Teen Josie 7 on Teen Josie 8, and others.
I have used the manual method of transfering individiual morphs, but wanted to get this produuct and give it a try. Can anyone point me to it please?
DND ProportionsIs there a morph somewhere just to change the proportions of the body to those of a basic DND human mini? I mean it can probably be done with the existing morph dials but I don't want to futtz around to get the settings right. When we have 3D printing and we can 3D print Daz characters why cant we put them in DND proportions and print them for our tabletop games?

Daz is currently looking at my log for this scene so hopefully i will get answer from them....
Please Help with Transfer Utility Tool !!!Hey, nrigieroli. I have not had a lot of experience in using the transfer utility myself, but, based upon what you have shown, I'm guessing that the problem is due to the fact that you are trying to transfer to a child morph of the figure (whichever it is). If the Marvelous Designer garment was made to fit the child morph, and applying the transfer utility shrinks it as shown, that may be a result of scaling the garment down just as the base figure was to create the child morph. If the garment had been designed to fit the base (unmorphed) figure, then it may have worked, but I'm only guessing here. Hopefully someone with more knowledge of how the transfer utility works will come by and offer some insight.
Please Help with Transfer Utility Tool !!!Hello! I am currently working on a project and I have an .obj that I created in Marvelous Designer. I converted it to quads and imported it into Daz. When it imports, it's positioned correctly on my mesh. However, when I use the Transfer Utility tool, it moves my object down and does not map currently (please refer to image). Not sure exactly what I am doing wrong. Is there something wrong with my mesh? Has anyone else had this problem?
