Doesn't this kinda bring us closer to being able to use HD in Carara? Probably wishful thinking.  lol

I have to look into that "HD" thing. Unfortunately, as "HD" was supposed not to work in Carrara, I've never bought any product using it. The only one I have are some clothes:

The second one has a displacement map, so maybe it could be done. The first one has an "HD Morph". I clearly need more data on it. according to documentation, it's linked into subdivision:

HD morph:

 High Resolution. Used for objects clearly visible in the foreground of your image

Accurate physically calculated shadows are cast, works great with Physically based rendering (PBR).

For the best result dial in exactly the same (render) SubDivision level for the morph as it was created for.

You can improve system performance by adjusting the (render) subdivision to a lower level but then you will see less detail.

Allows export the model as .obj  . at the highest SubD level to use or render in 3rd party software.

I think I'll buy a cheap "HD" character preset to reverse engineer it... Depending on how it's done and how I can link that "Morph" to actual mesh, maybe it could be done.

I morph a character but bend alters the look of the morph in ways i dont want it to. Is there a way to get bend not to alter morphs and just bend the joint?

Paypal is probably trying to prevent money laundrying and other kinds of illegal transfers. They are probably under pressure from the government to automate indenfication of suspious transactions that might be money laundering or transfers to fund things like terroism. I can see where using paypal to buy a gift card could be used to hide an illegal money transfer, but a gift card at DAZ?  Come on.

This is what happens when people try to write alogrithms to identify bad actors. The mistake ratio is high. 

Meanwhile the people who are laundering millions of dollars through Caribbean shell companies are never touched.

I've been wondering if it was something like this, one of the characters I got was named poppy, which is a name for a type of plant that can be used in drug manufacturing.  And another product was the Rapture poses, again, something that could be related to drug use.  I was wondering if maybe the combination tripped their automatic systems.  But what was wierd is the payment was approved initially and only denied after the fact.  The rep did say it was one of their automatic security scans that triggered, but wouldn't tell me what triggered it.

I've also kicked the things in smoothing modifier (collision and smoothing) to 5 and 7 to get that to work.

I love Samsil's hairs and I don't regret buying them, but they can be a pain to use. And I hope there's an Expand or similar morph in Shaft Hair, because I have a sneaky suspicion that a smoothing modifier will literally flatten it.

Oh! And another suggestion: if you have either Tousled Hair or Commander Hair for G3/G8, put that on your character, delete the actual hair but keep the cap, and then fit Top Fade or similar hairs to the cap. Tousled and Commander have enough useful morphs to make up for almost any lack. (And those morphs help make hairlines look slightly more male for some hairs.) You may need to use either Cutout Opacity/Opacity Strength to hide the cap after that, because the hairlines may not match up -- you absolutely will need to do that with Top Fade -- but it's still worth it. (Tousled has one more hairline morph than Commander does, which is helpful.) You can then either use the Tousled/Commander's Expand All adjustment, or even a smoothing modifier for the cap against the character.

Well, here are my results with trying to add Push Modifier to the mix. It can look a little better, but in my opinion, it is not satisfactory for anything but a distant shot.

1) Top Fade Hair and Beard on Oscar, "out of the box", with no Smoothing Modifier or Push Modifier.

2) Top Fade Hair and Beard on Oscar with Smoothing Modifier added.

3) Top Fade Hair and Beard on Oscar with both Smoothing Modifier and Push Modifier added.

I have both Tousled and Commander, so I might try your suggestion some time, but frankly, I'm kind of sick of spending time with this hair that takes so much work to use. It is also pretty resource intensive. Once I added smoothing, I could barely navigate the scene, and he didn't even have clothes. Top Fade Hair has millions of polygons and uses subD on top of that.

There were a lot of morph options on most of the hair products from Samsil that I puchased, A lot more than I usually see which I love, as a matter of fact. :)

I vote with @xyer0. More morphs are needed. The only Samsil hair I own is Top Fade Hair and Beard for Genesis 8 Male(s). The hair has no fitting morphs at all. The hair has only 3 style morphs. The beard has no morphs at all, of any kind. There are no custom fbm or fhm morphs for fitting any figure in either the hair or beard. We are at the mercy of Daz Studio auto follow, I guess.

Top Fade does fit some characters OK, but I have had pretty bad luck fitting this hair and beard on many of my Genesis 8 characters purchased from the Daz store. Adding a Smoothing Modifier (Edit/Object/Geometry/Add Smoothing Modifier) can help a little, but I didn't find it adequate to solve the bad fit. Because of these issues, I haven't been tempted to purchase other Samsil hair products yet. I'd have returned Top Fade hair, but I can't, because I got it as part of the Darius 8 Pro bundle.

If anyone has tips for getting the Top Fade hair to work better, I'd be very interested. Perhaps other Samsil hairs are better. I'd be interested in hearing success stories.

Here are some examples of trying to fit Top Fade to Oscar, Floyd, and Harrison. I haven't had problems fitting other hair and beard products to these characters.

They are full characters for Genesis 3 Female and Genesis 8 Female. They come as figure preloads (or will apply to G3F or G8F if you have them loaded already). They have 3Delight and Iray material presets. Some have various makeup options and some even have expression poses.

I play a lot and I tend to prefer games where I can play a hero and customize his face and Body. This is possible in games like Black Desert online, Mass effect and The Elder Scrolls games, Fallout 4, Aion, and even The Sims 4 to name a few of them. They all rely on a customization basis using anchor points that you can move around or they have a slider based morph manipulation with less than 100 morphs for face and body. I'd like to see something similar in DAZ like a 'PowerShape' (PowerPose serves posing characters).  The PAs would then come in with morphs to fine tune a character. 

Merging face and body morphs like was suggested in an earlier post is not a good idea IMO. It prevents the mix and match in character customization.

A lot of the Genesis 8 expressions (and Genesis 3 too) are driving bones in the facial rig, so to that extent it should simply be a matter of finding and zeroing the bones. Even where morphs are involved they may well be localised - those will be found on the figuire, under the Pose controls group in the Editor tab. If you also/instead need to halve the effect of a single morph then you would probably want https://www.daz3d.com/x-morphs , though ti is possible to split morphs with only DS by exporting as OBJ and then reimporting via Morph Loader pro using the attenuation options.

Hey ya'll.  
Beginning to climb the mountain that is attempting to learn Daz.  Looking for tips or advice on this one.  
Say you really like the eyes in an expression, but aren't crazy about the lower half.  
Is there an easy way to "Lock" the upper part of the face while you try other poses for the lower half?  Or perhaps is it possibe to apply expressions to only half the face?
