DAZCentral Dashboard Forever Loading
I'm stuck. I've filed a ticket, but since tickets are a Monday through Friday 9-5 only thing - I was hoping I could ask the forum and they might have answers.
First, I've just upgraded to a new PC and to Windows 10 Pro 64-bit for the first time ever from Windows 7 Pro. Removing and installing programs are now deemed as "apps" apparently.
Now, I logged successfully into DAZ Central and things were going alright, but then I tried to change my download paths in the setting bar by the login avatar and I cannot get DAZCentral's Dashboard to load so I can install DAZ Studio, or do anything. Clicking on the settings does nothing. Clicking reload just reloads to the same problem, and logging out and in again leaves me with the same settings. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling DAZCentral four times now and restarting each time I uninstalled before reinstalling again. I've tried to remove the left over file folders that DAZ leaves behind after an uninstall... but I still can't get it to fully load. That circle telling me the Dashboard is loading just keeps spinning.
I tried seeing if I could find DIM, but the ability to install it lies in DAZ Central apparently... as does DAZ Studio as well. I'm stuck. I can't download and install DAZ, DIM, or anything that I have purchased (unless I want to download each item I have purchased here for the years that I have been here).
If anyone knows a fix around this, please let me know. I found another thread like this here, but there was no resolution to it that I could find.
New DS Filament Render EngineI've looked through this thread and didn't see an answer to the problem I'm having. I might have missed it. I wanted to try Filament out so I downloaded and installed DS 4.14 through Daz Central. I have Filament (PBR) as one of my draw options in the viewing styles, but it's grayed out. I'm on a PC so it should be available. If you look at the screenshot, I have the Viewport selected, but no Filament.
What am I missing? Was I supposed to do something first? I created a new Filament Draw Options, Environment Options, and Tone Mapper Options to my scene. But still, not able to select Filament preview.
Help!
Filament requires Windows (currently), 64-bit, OpenGL > 4.1
Okay, that was it. Thanks, @Sevrin!
I thought I was running 4.1, but I was running 4 which is the latest version my CPU is running. Can't update that. I did have an older, low-end nVidia graphics card I could install which runs Open GL 4.6. I didn't know we had one or I would have put in my computer before now because I've been working without a graphics card since November of last year!
Anyway, I got it in and downloaded the drivers and I'm up and running, so I can take a look at Filament now. It's no longer shaded out. I'll be so happy when I can get a proper rendering computer again!
Daz Studio 4.14 Pro, General Release!First: they consider the types of their users, in these case there are 3:- connect users that like to see the big thumbnails, tags, description and the categorized content that allows them install what they need when they need it
- central users that like new shiney things and don't mind installing another program with less functionality than connect
- DIM users that like DIM for some reason
Geez.... Am I the only 4th kind of user? I don't like ANY of that crap (and I mean that in the nicest possible sense lol). I much prefer manual installs because no matter how "smart" the latest controller is, content is invariably stored in different ways depending on how it was packaged before it got to me. I'm a simple guy and I like simple file structures. (And never once, EVER, losing anything I know I have!)
And that's my seque to my current dilemma. I've just gotten my computer back after months in the shop and I've pretty much lost track of what's going on. Studio 4.14 is now out and I'd like to give it a try. But... I can't seem to find a way to get it except by kneeling before the latest controller. Just give me the platform and get out of my hair! Yikes.
Has my rugged individualism finally run out of plank, leaving me at the mercy of someone else's notion of how I'm supposed to do things? Have I finally crossed the line into too many mixed metaphors??
Thanks, all : )
Changing Default Install Directory for ProductsDaz Central installs everything to one base path, software, content, downloads.I didn't know this before. Could this be connected to the frequently reported problem of Central insisting on re-installing D|S, and destroying existing non-default DIM content location setups? It would explain a lot, although it begs the question of why Central can't detect an existing installation — especially since Central is supposed to be a training-wheels version of DIM.
Daz Central is supposed to pick up existing DIM settings. AFAIK the problem of screwing up existing paths has been fixed. As for insisting that DS isn't installed, I think that's because it treats DS and all the plugins that come with it as a single item, so if GoZ or the Photoshop bridge isn't installed it treats it as "DS isn't installed". I could be wrong about that -- my General Release is still DS4.8, so of course Central wants to install the latest version.

Daz install still sucks after 10 yearsIn DS you need to make sure that the Content Directory Manager (Edit>Preferences>Content tab) is pointing to the folders that hold the Runtime and data folders. You should be able to configure this in Central before starting to install anything.
Changing Default Install Directory for ProductsHow do you change install directory in Daz Central. Install manager is no longer operational.
DIM is still available and usable. In Daz Central, BEFORE you go online change the base path. Daz Central installs everything to one base path, software, content, downloads.
Daz install still sucks after 10 yearsEvery single time I try to install Daz for the last ten years I end up will not being able to see any content I download.
Just installed Daz through new Daz Central on a new computer and still same issue as the last 10 times I installed it.
From basic install it puts content on C drive, which just does not work as on any real computer as a tiny SSD drive n C and massive HD on D.
I switched the directory in Daz Central 'Base Path Location', then uninstalled and reinstalled Daz3D.
Now any content I download from Daz Central does not show up in Daz3D, just like every install fo every previous Daz3D.
I have had to google and mess around with settings and path in previous install to finally get content to show up, and it really sucks having to to this every release. Please have an install that can install to D and actually work Daz.
So, anyone know how in DazCentral DS 4.1 where you need to change/configure path to see content?

P3D Sigrid HD for Genesis 8 FemaleI'm not getting it in my downloads either. Neither IM, nor Smart Content, nor Daz Central.
Purchased Wild Hoop Hair and P3D Sigred HD but No Sigred (Resolved)I just purchased both the Wild Hoop Hair and the new P3D Sigred character, but Sigred won't show up in connect or DAZ central and I cannot download it.

Created a ticket for this - not available for manual install either, and I absolutely don't want to install Daz Central :)
Note that most likely Central won't be able to install it either. There's a glitch in the page display code (or something like that) where Central is listed as a download option even if the files are missing. And that has been happening at random in recent weeks (IIRC it started before the store switchover) — so whenever you see only Central listed, that's a marker that the files are actually not there to be downloaded. Best thing to do is to write up a ticket and post here; with luck it'll be fixed within hours.

Agreed. You do not know if and who of DAZ will visit this forum, so you need to raise a ticket. What DAZ does not know, they cannot fix. If they DO fix it, or not, is another story, but you have to tell them that something is broken.

Download daz central windows on mac[ Download daz central windows on mac ]
Hello everything is in the title but I will still ask the question. I would like to know where and how I could download daz central "windows" on mac (and then try to run it with wine)For those wondering why I want to do this, it's for 2 reasons:
1) I am on macOS Big Sur and there is no compatible version at the moment
2) I would like to try the Unity Bridge which does not yet exist for macOSThank you in advance !
Daz Studio 4.14 Pro, General Release!Greyed out products sound as if you aer looking in the products tab of Smart Content. Instead, look in daz Studio Formats (or Poser Formats) under the content directory you installed to 9if it isn't listed then that si the problem; if it is listed and the files are there then the issue is communication between DIM/CMS/DS at some point, or possibly having the CMS closed during installation.
How it's happening is of no importance, specially not to the end user. the fact that it's happening again and again is the problem.
In case nobody in daz have ever thought of it, here's how a responsible company deals with these [stuff].First: they consider the types of their users, in these case there are 3:
- connect users that like to see the big thumbnails, tags, description and the categorized content that allows them install what they need when they need it
- central users that like new shiney things and don't mind installing another program with less functionality than connect
- DIM users that like DIM for some reason.
Second: they write down their users likes and dislike, I'll list some that most users can agree with.
- users like to see programs that are ready to use when they open them, not fiddling with files and folders to get it working
- users don't like downloading the same thing several times
- users like to keep their computers clean and running fast with installing less programs
- users don't like their hard drives full of content if they're not going to use them
- users like to use their time to create, not spending it on forums complaining about problems that hindered their progress
- users like portable programs that don't need re installing when they migrate to another computer
- users like to choose where their files are stored, almost nobody installs their library on the precious NVMe or SSD that is their drive C
- users like when the developers are considerate and ask where to store the files before downloading the whole library
Third: they buy some cheap laptops and install their program on them according to their different user types.
- One with content installed using connect
- And two for the inferior methods

Fourth: they go through few scenarios and make sure the software still functions and fulfills user's likes and avoids user's dislikes, for example:
- The user upgraded their hardware or migrated to a new computer
- The operating system has been corrupted and the user had to re install it
- The user wants to use an older version alongside the new one
- The user haven't opened the software for a while
if they spot something that might annoy any of the user types, the developers would try to write some function or tool to handle the situation with minimum effort on the user's side. It's really that easy and cheap to make sure the user is unhindered to "create their own universe".
Once you have that system in place, you can open those laptops every time there's an update and check if the update would reek havoc on the users before unleashing it on the unsuspecting users right in the middle of doings some [stuff] that's important to them, interrupting their workflow.
But it is, broadly, behaving correctly - the products are listed as uninstalled and DS therefore displays them as such. While theer may be ways of detecting that DIM shows a product as installed and the CMS doesn't (e.g. parsing the Manifests folder) it's easy to think of ways in which the process could go astray and, given for example that the Manifests folder is movable, many of them would increase the complexity for the end user in configuring the system and would add extra points of failure. Ultimately this is a consequence of trying to give users choices to suit their tastes - if DS instead handled only contebnt isntalled through Connect, to a location specified in the code, then many of these access/configuration issues would go away - and users would be up in arms.
Ice Dragon Art A Glimpse Into My WorldI think the problem is, that I don't have daz studio loaded. I've loaded daz central and then daz studio through daz central several times now. It just won't open daz studio. I'm getting pretty damn frustrated lol.
Ouch. I feel your pain. But try to hang in there and keep checking. It may start working for no apparent reason (really, see below).
I recently had to do a full uninstall/reinstall to address some problems of my own. I ended up installing Daz Studio through DIM. They say Daz Central is supposed to recognize what you install through DIM but I haven't confirmed that.
Keep checking! What I will say is that the timing is unfortunate. They just trotted out the new store software and everyone had download failures. If I did manage to download something, I had install downloaded failures. And all of us having problems at the same time so help gets swamped. I submitted 2 tickets and received an email saying it could be 4-6 weeks before they can follow up. Yowza!
But good news! - then the install just started working. Yay! I've now installed the core programs and about 80% or so of my product library and making good progress again.
If you care about the details of my particular tale of woe, you can find them in the download thread. But the details don't particularly matter because it seems to have been fixed by something behind the scenes, not by anything I did or Tech did in response to my particular help ticket.

So try to persevere. The cavalry is on the way.
BTW - greetings, glad to see you posting, best wishes for getting it all sorted out.
!! Store Issues - Known Problems - Please Read !!Well, if anyone else goes looking to manually download Daz Studio:
1. The link at the top of the store to "Download Daz Studio" takes you to the Daz Central page, no sign of a link for where to download DS.
2. If it's already in your product list, it looks like there's no longer a download link. That's because unlike all the other products I've checked, the download links got shoved under Description; if you click the down-arrow on that, you can find the manual and DIM links to download.
