Help me figure out anatomical elements for Genesis 8On the product requirement, you may need to contact the vendor or store for clarification on whether it should say it requires G8F, rather than Victoria 8. Unless it doesn't morph at all and only fits her shape, I can't think of why it would require her but not the pro bundle.Which Toon Generations would you get?
I would want both as I like to use both Genesis 3 and Genesis 8.
I missed the second sale, too :(
I know I will have another chance. I wanted those little babies so badly...which is just a morph of the male or female, I believe.
I didn't know 3DU provided clones for some of their characters.
Thank you all!!
So did I. I cannot catch every good sale. I wish I could but I that is not possible for me.
Which Toon Generations would you get?Both... and that Generation 3 to Generation 8 transfer script!

Gotta be vigilant (and quick) around here to catch the sales sometimes. LOL
Good luck for next time ;)

Fit Control Add-On (Commercial)If the Depth morph I'm requesting effects the area above the collarbone, then it will interfere too much with the action of the Loosen Collars morph.
Fit Control Add-On (Commercial)This area?
Yes, sir. That's the Depth morph I'm requesting (but it should NOT extend above the collarbone). And a Shoulder Height morph. Thank you so much for hearing.
Morphs from G3 to G8He did derive from a sample and absolutely did not adhere to the license under which the sample is provided. He was given the opportunity to adhere to the license.
I thought long and hard about how to respond to this. I wrote 3 responses before I figured out why I wanted to respond at all. Then I wrote another. Then I talked to my therapist. He didn't have anything to add about what I ought to do, but I realized I don't care now that I know what was bugging me. So all I need to say is, this has pretty much nothing to do with why the scripts aren't publicly available. Certainly events around that time have everything to do with it, but the final resolution of that was that script was in compliance.
I have no idea what this is trying to say, in truth, but it certainly strongly implies that scripts aren't up because of non-compliance and refusal to cooperate. That's not the case. That's what bugged me, and inspired me near talking about details I've pretty much refused to go into. The reason I don't go into it still applies, so I'm not doing it now.
And that's all I have to say about that.Which brings me to actual reason I'm here, 21 days after the fact. I haven't given up. I didn't die, and I didn't take your charity and run. I fell down a development hole of "this is almost working perfectly, so what am I missing." And I finally gave up on that approach, and tried something else. (If you really care why it didn't work out, I can almost explain. It doesn't work and I only have a vague guess as to what it's doing but no clue why it's not doing what I expect it to.) I was inclined to make promises about how soon that something else was going to pay off. I'm kinda glad this quoted comment put me out of sorts, because I've been there before, and it's probably as disappointing to you as it is to me when the whole thing blows up in my face. And the current idea is as fraught with opportunity for disaster as any other. Let us say, in simplified terms, that if every other method has been a kind of extension, evolution, or succussor of my old brute force idea, the current idea is the spiritual decendant of Redz's method, but everything happens on the fly at run time. The thing about all these methods is that they all have inherent issues. Some issues are bigger than others. (Welcome to tautology club. The first rule of tautology club is the first rule of tautology club.)
This introduces a whole new set of issues, while solving just about every problem I had before. I may have a solution to that, as well, but it requires the use of code I haven't written, at all. (Implementing Redz's concept only required me to find a way to generate a copy of the target figure, on the fly. Which is much simpler to code than you might assume. The rest was just changing the order of operations of code I already had, and then a lot fiddling with support files to increase accuracy.) As usual, this comes with an unsolvable issue of its own. Or, at least, an issue that I don't think I can code an automated solution directly into the script.[1] Possibly a manual loop that requires user input. That is, the old versions of the script were good at avoiding nail related distortions. They might send the nails off at the wrong angle, but nothing but the nails. I tried to combine the magic that did that with the logic of Redz's method. The result is that the meshes tend to explode, or crumple badly. In the end, I used my old logic as a check point, so if you have favorite nails morph, that will work just fine. If you have a favorite character with long nails built in, or claws, expect issues. (Issues where finger/toe tips are sheared out along with the nails.)
I'm hesitant to try to fix these things, at this point, probably because it's trying to fix things that shows me how broken things still are, and I have emotional issues. But mostly, the general fix is so absurdly simple in concept I can't see how it wouldn't work. (The new idea does something way better than the old ones, but it doesn't have to. It can get exactly the same results {with possible distorted finger/toe tips}. The "better" it does is what causes the issues, because a lot of the times, you want that "less better" style result. You only what the better for the main morphs, not the helpers, and any good product is mostly helpers by volume. So the fix is making it not do better by defualt, and making the better optional.) That's all terrifying in itself for someone who's used to things going absurdly pear shaped right after they start looking positive. So I'm mostly along to say I'm still at it, I hope to have actual good news soon, but everything has primed me to expect trouble.
[1]. Since I wrote that, I thought of brute force way to fix the problem, but it trades avoiding distortion for accuracy. Can you create a morph slider that adjusts surface settings?Hopefully this is the right place to ask. I saw a product suggestion for a tool for applying a red-faced blush to characters and it got me thinking about having a dial that increases / decreases the opacity of a "blush" layer. Seems like it would be a simple way to dip my feet into scripting for DS.
VIctoria 4 Anatomy to Genesis 8Hi All,
Trying to get the V4 Skeleton to fit into a Genesis 8 model
I've been following a few different threads and have seen some good V4 to Genesis to G8, but can't quite find anyone who's done the skeleton specifically.
Is it possible using this method?
https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/193296/freebie-how-to-create-a-v4-clone-and-transfer-other-figures-for-g8f-now-with-video/p2
I can seem to get the V4 Skeleton into a Genesis correctly, but struggle to get it to go to a G8 from there. Any help would be much appreciated!Tried testing the skeleton turned up terrible. The humerus and femur get flattened when incorrectly ported to G8. It does fit the G8 figure, though. I just fitted the skeleton to Genesis and jumped generations (G1 -> G2 -> G3 -> G8)
I don't have access to a G2 in my DAZ
You could install the free Genesis 2 Starter Essential to get the G2 figures.
Leon not part of the G8-family?Though presumably items that work with dForce might be adjusted to fit the base pose (or a specially made pose) and then simulated.
In fact Autofit is an "very old" feature, dForce is maybe a more "efficient" method today.
AutoFit, however, requires a clone shape - distributing a Genesis clone for Leon would require licensing from Daz, just as a Leon clone for a Genesis would require a license from Vyusur
Ok, so I know I can’t send the morph of the shape I made to sorta match the shape of Genesis 8 male to a Vyusur, but it is it acceptable to write down all the parameter dials I changed to get Leon to that shape? Or is that still against the Eula because of the shape since it’s not the actual obj or duf file?
Yes, giving the "recipe" for your morph would be acceptable.
It should save as a shaping and or posing preset

Fit Control Add-On (Commercial)I'm not at my machine; I can't give you a picture. But I'd like to be able to independently lower/raise the shoulders height as well as their front depth. This will allow me to fine tune what happens when I use/abuse the Loosen Collar morph. Thanks, Zev0!
Fit Control Add-On (Commercial)Well the package isn't finalized yet so I can look at those. The original did have a Loosen Collars morph. So what added funtion do you want there?
Fit Control Add-On (Commercial)This is great news! By any chance are morphs for more control in the collar/shoulder area included? I find that the current Expand Collar morph gives comprehensive control over the collar/shoulder/high-front of the garment, but I sometimes need these areas separately controlled when I am working with jackets and shoulder-length hair.

Any help would be much appreciated! Is there an easy way to transfer all G2 morphs to G3?So..I've done this quite often from G2F to G3F with Gen2X. But it's been a while, so my memory may be rusty.
Once you get Gen2X up and working (other tutorials available on the forum), then:
1. Choose SOURCE: G2F
2. Choose MODE: Selected Morphs
3. Then under MORPH: Look in (region) Actor and put a check mark by each morph you want to move over to G3F
4. Choose TARGET: G3F
5. And I think that's it. The options I use are 1. Transfer controlled morphs, 2. Transfer dial groups 3. Transfer CM with dependent morphs
Is there an easy way to transfer all G2 morphs to G3?@Creativewebsparks, You can go as high as G3 with GenX, but you'll need to purchase the Genx2 Addon for Genesis 3. This addon requires the base Genesis Generation X2 and the GenX2 AddOn for Genesis 2, which I believe you already own base on your comment above. It is highly unlikely there will be any new addons as the artist has, sadly, passed on.
The script that is referenced in your second quote was available in the Morphs from G3 to G8 thread. However it is no longer available. You may be able to use informtion from the tutorials that Redz (aka RedzStudio,) provided in that thread. Here are the links:
Redz's Tutorial for Morph Transfer G3F to G8F
Redz's Tutorial for Adding Clones to G8FI've used both of those tutorials quite successfully, and I can recommend them both.
Thanks I will give it a try. I am slow learner, so I think it will take a lot of time.
