  • From DAZ Install Manager to DAZ Central

    jestmart said:

Central is a dumbed down version of DIM, don't change.  Furthermore neither Central or DIM can install content from other sites.

I have noticed the rather difficult process with some 3rd party content.
I was hoping to see things somewhat evolved with Central but it seems that's not the case.
    That's really good to know!
    Thank you!

    Hi there,
over the last three years I have spent a lot of money on DAZ products and I am now just wondering if I should back them up or will my DAZ account always allow me to acces these products through the Install Manager or DAZ Central again?

What would be the most elegant way to back them up?
Should I download all files manually from the store by accessing my orders?

    No, you must back up!

I do a secondary Content folder on an external drive, first time is all 100% Copy Paste, then I do "Sunday syncs" using  Synkron.

many figures are not available anymore like the Sanctum Art figures, because I did external isolated backup I can use in this 2021.

Alright! So I will take a regular backup seriously, which I need to do anyway.
    Thank you!

  • installing on new computer

That is somethign better handled through Install Manager, which is available through the links at the foot of most pages in your Product Library - it should pick up all the settings from Central.

  • installing on new computer

Just bought a new computer for exclusive use on DAZ. Installed DAZ and DAZ Central just fine. However, I am not seeing an option in Central to bulk download my library. Near as I can see, I have to click 'Install' on each item.  Looked for DIM so I could install that way but no luck (a search brought up 537 results). After several years, I have a fairly extensive library. Clicking on each time gonna suck.  I know I'm missing something

  • How to stop DAZ Central installing Studio updates?

Every time I go into DAZ Central, it tries to continue downloading 4.15. I have to stop it each time. Probably because I have the "update assets automatically"checked for when products are updated, but I really don't want 4.15 until DAZ gets most of the bugs out of it.

Downloading updates to assets is not the same thing as downloading a new version of the base software: it shouldn't use the same paradigm for everything.

Hell, DAZ Central can't even download its own update. Been trying for 2 weeks, and fails each time. it tried as late as this morning.

Hmm? DS does not download itself, or plug-ins

Yeah, I'm in pretty much the same situation as you. So far I've noticed that the new 4.15 version seems to have some issues (for me, at least). Crashed during an Iray render on a scene that's worked fine in previous versions. Same scene locked up when adding a primitive.

As far as DIM, it seems to work fine for me, no interest in the Central thing. Maybe if I get a chance later.

Also seems like DAZ is getting big into developing bridges for other software, which IMO has always seemed like a smart thing to do to open up the store content to tons of other people. And maybe if they make it seamless there's less need to spend all those resources developing their own software.

Other than that I'm not sure. I was kinda hoping all the RTX excitement would develop into something really useful like super realtime Iray previews and stuff, but so far I haven't seen much indication that it's much more than another evolutionary "pay big bucks to cut a few minutes off a render" type of stuff.

Anyway, my scene has been trying to add a new primitive for about 10 minutes, so I think it's time crash it and start all over.

Have you updated the NVidia driver to the latest version?

Yes continue to use DIM as Central is just a dumbed version of DIM.  If you need to install DIM a link to it can found (slightly hidden) on just any product dowload of your account's Product Library.

  • Coming back to Daz after a year and a half

For personal health reasons I had to take a break from using Daz Studio for about a year and a half. I have finally gotten back to where I want to use Daz and create things for Daz. So I know a lot has changed in 1.5 years. The last thing I remember was D-Force had just came out and started becoming popular. I see there is now Daz Central for downloading. I am very use to using DIM. Can I still download DIM? or Do I have to use Daz Central? What other things do I need to familiarize myself with?

  • Dim Dropped.. OK but why must it stop.

DIM and Daz Central are the same basic code, so this isn't a DIM issue (and DIM is not dropped). It does need to refrsh its file list - as witness the way that 500 items show as having new files to download when on line and as downloaded updates when offline, the chnage in connection chnages things like updates (and sometimes product names).

Hi there. I tried to find that file in all my entire pc without success. How can I download it please?

    DAZ_sam said:

I know everyone wants 4.26 unfortunately it is not a one-click install but, here is a workaround in the meantime.
This more easier done with Install Manager but, can be done with Daz Central as well.
First off there should be a new update for everyone make sure you update before following these steps.
There will be a file on your pc now it is downloaded when you installed the Bridge.
    Step to find the file.
    1. The Default location will be "C:/Users/Public/Documents/DAZ 3D/InstallManager/Downloads"

    2. Search for "IM00072003-04_DazToUnreal464bit.zip" and unzip it.

    3. Once its unzipped, open up the folder "Unreal_Engine_4_(64-Bit)"

    4. Inside there you will find "DaztoUnreal_4.26"
To install DaztoUnreal for 4.26 you will need to manually install the Unreal Engine Side.

    1. Open up your plugin folder by default it will be. C:\Program Files\Epic Games\UE_4.26\Engine\Plugins

    2. Copy "DazToUnreal_4.26" to the Plugin Location.

    3. Rename the Folder to "DazToUnreal"

    4. Open up Unreal Engine and it should ask you to enable the plugin.
This will only be temporary until we can make it an automatic option.

Are you using Daz Central? It looks the download location can be changed.
The first thing I want to make sure of, have you already tried to install the plugin? It doesn't download the zip unless you try to install it first.
Second thing, if you can't find the download folder, press the gear icon at the top right of Daz Central and see where your base location is.
At that point, it should be, "BASELOCATION\Application\Data\DAZ 3D\InstallManager\Downloads\"
If you still can't find it let me know!
    https://helpdaz.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=23788
You can also make a ticket so one of the customer support reps can take a look as well.

  • Dim Dropped.. OK but why must it stop.

the exciting message is "maxinum number of ...exceeded"
I guess the means your server is overloaded?
    I don't mind that.
Why I do mind is when it's disconnected it doesn't stay up and let me keep installing stuff that's already downloading .. it sits there and spins.
    --
okay it's diesconnected .. i either wait 10 or 15 minutes for it to be ready to function again or kill it and start it again in off line mode which still takes a long time.
Usually I start it again because when it's dropped there's no message about what it's doing.
I have a lot of stuff and from the start up time involved in both offline and online that's the issue.
But once it's read all the stuff on my disks .. it shouldn't have to reconstruct that all over again when the server is disconnected.
    ---
If daz now has too many customers for it's download server it needs to fix that.
If it broke something I Dim it should fix it.
What I can ask (waiting for the wrist slap email) is hey, we want everyone to use daz central, so why bother?
    ---
This isssue only started a while back..
IF you are fixing it SAY SO.
If you're not or can't say that also.
    ----
as long as we're d*mning dear old DIM.
    ---
when its offline I have 850 updates to install but when it's online only 350 but I do have 500 product updates to download.
(I do download any update that has a package date newer than the install date of the one it want's to replace.
But why do I get update offers that have older dates than my install dates.

  • Das Studio & Hexagon Not installing

Daz Central installs both the core applications and some add-ons (for Daz Studio) and content as part of the single operation. I think it's a problem with the latter that you are seeing. If you check the log that should help identify the issue.

Enter 4.x in the search box, click Filter and then click on Daz Studio 4.X Pro
