HeadShop 2025 Full Bundle
HeadShop, a leading photo-to-3D application for Genesis 3, 8 and 9 has been around for almost 18 years and we added features and capabilities along the way. As HeadShop grew, so did its price. We found that we were offering many features in a single package that our customers may or may not use. To address our artists needs better, for 2025 we have reworked our entire product line into modules, enabling our users to pick and purchase only the features they really need. Full Bundle combines all essentials into one package. Full Bundle Intro $98.95 MSRP ($129.80 when purchased separately).

What is included in HeadShop 2025 FULL BUNDLE?

What was the name of a script (or plugin or standalone program -- I don't remember quite well...) that could turn a not-so-frontal picture into a frontal portrait to make it easier to use in Facegen and similar programs? I'm trying to find it but I can't locate it...

Creating characters that look like real peopleHeadshop is still available but there is a new version so the link in that post doesn't work anymore. Current version is this one: https://www.daz3d.com/headshop-2024-win
Regarding face transfer, the link provided is for the version which works with Genesis 8 figures. If you want to use it with Genesis 9 you need Face Transfer 2: https://www.daz3d.com/face-transfer-2
Not sure about Facegen artist pro.

Not sure why you think one click solutions aren't any good, but there are 3 options using Daz Studio and the Genesis figures. One is facegen artist pro, the other is headshop and then you have the builtin face transfer option in DS. All results depend of quality input images though, the better the source files, the better the morph

PhotoPrep coming Soon (Commercial)Are you running in 4k?
Looking at your image of the interface it looks like text scaling is too large for the app and the text does not fit. My interface says "Single Image" and has more text at the bottom next to the "Male" and "Female" icons.
I think the scaling might be why your imported image is zoomed in too.
I used ImageMagick "Mogrify" to convert my png portraits to jpg into another folder.
I open the app, after the splash screen, it disappears for a few seconds then the interface appears.
I click "Browse or drag jpg file", open the folder, select my file, click Open.
I then see the image with blue dots marking facial features. ( They can't be edited or moved )
I click "Apply" and i get a "Please Wait" box with a green bar.
Then i get an app window with my image on the left and the created face mesh on the right.
I save the "front", "Left" and "right" views as seperate images e.g. "Face-F-001.jpg", "Face-F-001-L.jpg" and "Face-F-001-R.jpg" in a named folder somewhere.
I then go to "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Abalone\HeadShop" and copy the "TempProject" folder into the same folder i saved the images above.
The Temp Folder contains folders with the obj and mtl files and textures, i assume i can use them in other apps.
"No Smile" will close the mouth.
I haven't worked out how to get "Retouch" to work for me.
The two icons next to "Retouch" mirror the left and right sides on the final mesh if needed.
"Smooth" changes the mesh in the viewport.
"Hand" lets you move the generated mesh around in the viewport.
"Arrow" lets you rotate the generated mesh around in the viewport.
"Magnifying Glass" with up and down mouse movement zooms in and out.
"Magnifying Glass" with frame and arrows resets the mesh size and rotation etc in the viewport.
I have had some crashes and as far as i can tell you have to close the app and reopen it for a new project which is why i have a desktop shortcut.PhotoPrep coming Soon (Commercial)djellyhead said:
In DIM, on the "Installed" tab, right-click "Photorep with Lovechild" and select "Show installed files", Click one of the files and Explorer should open up and you can go back a few folders to find the exe. For me the path was:
"C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library\General\Abalone LLC\PhotoPrep with LoveChild\Application\RH.HeadShop.exe"
I created a shortcut and put it on my desktop. Thanks for the input. I can now give it a test run.

Dear Sir or Madam,
Forgive my ignorance or stupidity. I purchased Photoprep and it downloaded via DIM. Now, how do I start the app? I do not find it in the Windows start menu program or inside Daz Studio. Am I supposed to installed it manually from the zip file downloaded through DIM and run it manually?
Thanks in advance.

While there are capable photo-to-3D head applications like HeadShop, FaceTransfer and FaceGen, they share a shortcoming - they do NOT match the texture with topography (shapes).
We decided to use a well known paradigm, that of the police artist, who would choose from libraries of shapes, like Forehead (tall or short, wide or narrow, wrinkled or not), or Cheeks (prominent cheekbones, creased cheek, hollow cheeks, etc), or Chin (small chin, big chin, cleft chin, etc), or Lips (thick, thin, spoon, etc.) or Nose (Hawk, Roman, Stumpf, etc). You get the idea....
By adding and mixing these shapes you quickly get a better approximation of the underlying topo of the texture and thus a much more realistic 3D head! PoliceArtist supports Genesis 8 and Genesis 9, male or female, with a library of 120+ shapes. Give it a try!

Headshop 2024 shapes and textures not importing into DazMillie,
Likely reason is that you have to set your DAZ Studio Preferences back to "Default" (see picture in the HeadShop manual, Chapter 6/Troubleshooting).
Manual is under the "Help" menu.
Otherwise, send an email to Abalone Tech Support at [email protected] and we set up a tech Skype call with screen share - works 100% of the time.

Headshop 2024 shapes and textures not importing into DazI'm using headshop 2024. I installed everything right (i think. The install process was VERY confusing nothing was named right and the unzip files were labeled out of order) it says exported successfully but it doesn't take any effect or appear in Daz. I'm using the latest release of Daz and everything is installed on the E drive not the C drive as my C drive is only 512gb and I have over 2tb of Daz files and assets
Marahzen's Musings on Creating Characters (and other matters)It occurs to me that for the possible benefit of anyone else who wanders across my ramblings and wants to see more conversation about the subject of FaceGen/Face Transfer/etc, I should include some of the other Daz forum threads I've been involved in, in addition to the FT2 thread mentioned above. Surely there's others, but here are ones I found in my bookmark list:

https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/421111/artbreeder-and-prototyping#latestMarahzen's Musings on Creating Characters (and other matters)In the spring of 2023, there was chatter on multiple threads here at Daz about creating G9 characters with the major character-creator options (FaceGen, Face Transfer, HeadShop), and I found myself having exchanges with a committed FaceGen user. He had a couple of fair points on his side: Face Transfer Unlimited had not been updated since it came out in 2019, and there was no obvious sign at the time that it would be updated to do G9. Meanwhile, FaceGen was still in active development, and its developers had specifically indicated that a G9 version was in the works. Moreover, FaceGen created cleaner textures and also had the option to pick custom mat files.
It was something that caused me to rethink my process in a fundamental way.
Having given a fair test to all three options - FaceGen, Face Transfer and HeadShop - I continued to prefer the shape created by Face Transfer/Face Transfer Shapes, but I agreed that FaceGen produced the best textures.
And therein were the first seeds sown that changed up everything by the end of the year.
Marahzen's Musings on Creating Characters (and other matters)For a long time thereafter, my character creation process hardly changed at all. Toward the end of 2022, I retired Altern8 in favor of a custom process for doing skin textures that a friend who was pursuing his own Daz projects had created. But other than that, the year went by without much modification to my character creation.
And then everything changed.
Two gig seasons came and went, and spring 2023 found me at a crossroads. Genesis 9 had come out the previous fall, and I had by then invested in some G9 shape/morph utilities and even a few commercial characters. (Not for the characters, but because there were times when there was such an attractive, stacking deal on the bundle that it was worth it to me, even if I never used the characters themselves for anything.) I was getting close to two years spent on Daz, and I hadn't actually created any new final characters in over a year. I think I had been looking for that "next great thing" and the arrival of G9 threw an additional complication into the mix. Of course, 2023 dawned with no easy path to creating G9 characters but I knew it was only a matter of time before that changed, and I was going to have to decide whether to stay the course with G8 or switch to G9 (or, possibly, use both).
Of the major players, it was HeadShop that was first out of the gate to offer the ability to create G9 characters. I had not done anything with HeadShop yet - I had not strayed from Face Transfer since switching in late 2021. Given a lucky opportunity to test drive it, I found it was an useful experience and created a few interesting characters. But for all of my careful, evolving procedures with creating characters in G8, I had almost no tools in the toolbox to reach for in creating a G9 character. It was, in so many respects, like starting over again.
This one is retrospectively my favorite of the HeadShop creations. It's a cute variant of one of my major characters, but it wasn't "the thing" I was looking for, and I moved on to a new challenge - converting my G8 Face Transfer shapes to G9.
