[I want to manually install blender and unreal bridges without going through daz central or IM]
I don't like work with those, I don't like at all.
Is possible to do that? And actually make it to work?edited for Please put your question in the post body and the title - Daz 3D Forums
daz3dstudio closes on startupsame here.... not sure whats up but its crash central with daz right now. DIM will crash as well as soon as login.
I found a temp work around, manually install the 32 bit version of DIM so you can log in and at least download your stuff but yeah DAZ just seems so broken right now.
Why must be this so complex ?I'm running 2.5.1.137. I prefer to use DIM rather than Central.
I did have a crash last night, but I was trying to do something stupid, HEX did display an error but as I knew what I did wrong (and I'd only saved a few minutes earlier) I did not bother to read it.
You can also try installing it manually, I normally go down that road when things play me up. Don't forget to turn off Local Redraw and raise your Undos.
Why must be this so complex ?Last year I changed my PC to a new Ryzen 7 + Asus Turbo GTX-1060 6Gb + 32Bg RAM + Windows 10 64
Hexagon was running ok ( you know.. from time to time a crash but letting work ).
As side note of something interesting: A curious thing in Win 7 and Win 10, was that if you had Hexagon crashes clicking on an object, or as example you had holes in an onject making impossible to sculpe this, you always can select all objects and save a an OBJ file. Later, you load the file, and there are not problems. Not crashes and sculpe the object. Nice !!
Now without know why, a HXN draw that was saved / exported to OBJ without problems in the past, is crashing Hexagon ALWAYS that I try to save / export as OBJ file.
I tried to download the new Beta but DIM and DAZ Central always install the public 2.5.2.109. Including a new purchase of the new beta that didn't change the list of updates in DIM and Central. Always download the same.
Anyone knows if some update in Win 10, or other can cause this so many repeated ? ( Of course from time to time continues crashing by other reassons )
Is a Windows error. Not an Hexagon error. First was "Windows detect a problem and the porogram will be closed..." but in lasts only is closed without any warning.
Brand new i9 - RTX 3090 crashing BSOD when rendering Daz PNG SequenceHey all - I'm running out of ideas on what might be wrong with my brand new PC (specs at the bottom). I have a very simple scene with a Genesis 8 female (surface shaders reset against low opacity text - example attached) that rotates 360 degrees over 1200 frames. I'm exporting as a PNG sequence. I have an old machine with an i7 1080 combo that will render each frame in about 2 minutes. That old machine will run nonstop with no issues for 24 hours to do all 1200 frames with no crashes. This new machine can render a frame in less than 30 seconds, but then it randomly blue screens the machine. Some times after 9 minutes, sometimes after 2 hours. I leave the machine alone to do the rendering. Everytime is the same BSOD "CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT". I updated all the drivers for the machine upon receiving it, GPU is on the latest nVidia Studio driver. I've re-seated the RAM and the GPU. I've seen others with crashing issues being advised to look at the Event Viewer, but I must not be savvy enough to de-code what I should be looking for there. I see that the machine restarted when it didn't plan to, but I can't determine the cause. I ran HWiNFO64 to see if the VRAM was overheating as some have experienced with 3090s, but it never goes over 92C.
- Daz was installed via Daz Central
- Hardware accelerated GPU Scheduling is ON
- CPU Fallback is OFF and CPUs are un-checked
- I've limited the CPU Affinity to half capacity and left it at full capacity, crashes eventually in both scenarios
- The DAZ application is NOT on the C:\ drive, its on D:\
Made an over-the-shoulder video that shows the process. Crash starts around 8:26 on frame 35 - https://youtu.be/EQBDeVbcY2w
Any thoughts anyone has?

A REALLY FRUSTRATING PROBLEM WITH DAZ3D + CENTRALThe base path in Daz Central is used by everything; that is part of the simplification of the process. Install Manager will pick up the paths from Central if it is installed afterwards, but they can be chnaged in its Advanced Settings as usual (gear icon at top-right). You can reset DIM's paths to the defaults from the right-click menu, but you will then need to uninstall/reinstall the content and applications and set the current paths used in Daz Studio - there is a sample script that you can download and drag into the DS Viewport to make sure the current DIM paths are included in DS http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/referenceguide/scripting/api_reference/samples/file_io/install_manager_config_import/start
A REALLY FRUSTRATING PROBLEM WITH DAZ3D + CENTRALHello everyone, Im facing a really big problem with daz installation.
I have installed the program the first time using central and tried to set the BASE directory thinking it was where the content is downloaded as I have a 265TB SSD and a 1TB HDD where I want the software to be installed on the SSD for performance purposes and the content on the HDD for space distrubition management..... To cut it short, everytime I reinstall daz a new directory appears and every content downloaded is corrupt and to add insult to injury I downloaded the old fashioned DIM (cause it is what Im used to ) and tried to install from there and it is getting worse! That central just screwed the whole thing and cant seem to reset everything back to original state....
I tried searching online for a solution and couldnt find anything.
Please help!

Hi Dobit
When I import a .wav I get warnings such as "bad quality at 1 MS: the sound recieved is too loud for discrete recognition" Then at 185 Ms: then at 425ms and then 635ms:
I press okay
I lower the sound in audio software and then anilip tells me the sound is too low.
Can you advise what sound level I should use? Also I installed through Daz Central and have no idea where the user manual is? Can you give me a pointer as to where to find it?
Thanks
Sorry, we have missed that. You could try to normalize the signals of your audio (use the normalize function of any audio editor). See image for manual link.
Problem with Installation of Orestes Milky Way SkydomeHi all,
I just purchased two of Orestes Skydome products, Cassini and Milky Way. Cassini installed and works just fine. Milky Way installs but nothing loads into the scene. When clicking on the render setting icon, it appears to go through a loading process and the Iray view resets, but the skydome doesn't load and the render settings remain unchanged. I've attempted installations via both Daz Connect and Daz Central with the same results. I've uninstalled and reinstalled; I've closed out Studio and Central and reopened and reinstalled. I've rebooted the PC. Still the same results.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

The problem is DAZ Central and DAZ Connect. Though I've never used the DAZ Central to install or download any of my items, central is now a part of the Daz program, and even if you are using DIM, it will make Daz Connect the main directory for all your download files. So when I installed an item that had previously been there and then checked to see where it was located in my computer, I showed up in 'My DAZ Connect" folder -- a new folder that had no content.
The fix is to simply go into Edit - Preferences - Content Mgmt, and move your original directory back to the top.
Hope this helps anybody else who has this problem in the future. It certainly doesn't for me.

DIM's path (default the My Daz 3D Library in the Public Documents/Daz Install manager folder) has no connection with Connect's (default path docuemnts/Daz 3D/Studio/My Daz Connect data Library/) - if you are getting products installed through DIM appearing in the Connect folder as well then there is an issue with your paths or with the communications between DIM, DS, and the PostgreSQL database (and if you are not being prompted when you try to open an "installed" product then you must have DS set to work online, which is totally unnecessary if you don't use Connect).
Daz to Cinema 4D Beta: How To Download Release Versions, Manually Install, and Replace Old InstallsFound a workaround to the Bridge not showing up in D|S. I don't know what happened or what changed, but it just refuses to be found.
I have D|S and associated software on my D: drive. Other than the "Smart Content" tab being incapable of finding the products that the Install Manager says is installed (They are, they're just shoved into several different content libraries for some reason) everything's functioning fine. Except for the C4D Bridge.
I try installing it with DAZ Central. No luck. It'll show up in Cinema 4D, but it won't show up in DAZ Studio. No drop down menu, no Script, nothing.
I try installing it with Install Manager, same deal. I try installing it by hand manually, nothing.
However, by going around to Window -> Panes -> Script IDE and then manually selecting and executing the Daz to Cinema 4D script it'll finally function. Morphs still don't export though and joints are still aligned improperly, not sure why the improvements I saw before suddenly aren't happening anymore :/
(Edit to add that this behavior is with the latest manual install from GitHub as well)

Also, daz uses a postgres database. See that that is uninstalled before doing a new install and just to be sure rename/delete the folder for said database, i think default is something like this:
C:\Users\YOURWINDOWSUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D\cms
Fatal Error on first attempt to open Daz StudioRichard Haseltine said:
Install manager iss till available, it has a link at the foot of most pages in yoru Product Library, and daz Studio also has direct downloads in the Product Library (though it is recommended not to mix installation methods).
Thanks - - I'm giving Install Manager a try. I uninstalled Daz Central. My internet isn't too awful, for a rural area, but slow compared to most connections - - I think that might have been an issue, too.- - parts of things downloading and failing along the way, so when it said 100% it wasn't really. I've unchecked everything but Daz Studio 4.15 and if I can download that entirely, I'll one by one add things from the list. I tried downloadign the whole list, but several things got a "download failed" - - too many things at once, is my best guess.
Fatal Error on first attempt to open Daz StudioI wonder if the long and interrupted download is an issue? Is there any way to download Daz Studio, other than Daz Central? I downloaded the earlier version way back when directly, dowloading the .exe - - can you still do that?
Fatal Error on first attempt to open Daz StudioI'm not completely new to Daz, but had been using an ancient version. I was happy with that, but my old computer died and the old version won't run on Windows 10, so I bit the bullet and Downloaded Daz Central and tried to dowload the latest Daz Studio... it kept freezing while downloading, but I could restart the download... but when it finally hit 100% it encountered a fatal error on launch. I tried restarting my computer, but it still won't open. I uninstalled and tried installing again - - same problem.
I did get the zip with the crashdump and errorlog, but I don't understand what any of it means.and it seems too massive to copy/paste the whole thing here, but this snippet seems possibly relavant. I'm running Windows 10 64 bit and I'm still new to it - - my old computer was Windows 7. Any help is appreciated.<error>
