Have you had success with the Genesis 2 Female Clone for Genesis with other garments? I just don't have much to test, because I haven't really bought into the G2 scheme yet. I thought that if I could use the clothes on Genesis, I would have a reason to buy G2 clothes. I'll see what else I have that I can try. I have a couple freebies.

I love how Carrara is of the nature where you can do nearly anything you need done in this field, directly within Carrara. But another part of Carrara's magic is how it can work with content made for other software, such as Poser and now, with version 8.5, Daz Studio. Some of us can use all the help we can get, either because of our time limitations or simply because we really want to direct more than create, or any number of other reasons. I know that many people, myself included, are always on the look out for helpful products that we can add to Carrara to make our lives easier and our experiences more fun, more productive, more artistic, and so on. I also get asked about where to find 'this' or 'that' that is either made for Carrara, or that includes files that work specifically for Carrara. So I've decided to create yet another index-styled list for use in helping myself and others find Carrara stuff - without having to rely on the Search feature here in the store. Sometimes we're not exactly sure what we're looking for, and would rather browse through various availabilities - perhaps for an idea on what to get in the future, or perhaps what to make for ourselves.

Such a resource will certainly require a good bit of updating to keep current with what's available. If you know of items either for Carrara or that come with Carrara settings for ease of use in Carrara, please post what you know in this thread to help out the cause and I'll do my best to get this main post updated. I'm using the new Genesis 2 Female Clone for Genesis with SRMS to autofit G2F clothes to Genesis. I'm having problems. I don't have many G2F clothes, but I tried the Paige Dress from the DAZ store. I am using DS 4.6.0.18. The result was terrible. Please help! I must be doing something wrong.

Image 4 is what Paige Dress looks like on Genesis 2 Female.
Image 3 shows the settings I used to autofit it to Genesis Basic Female
Image 2 shows the result I got using SRMDressBase.
Image 1 shows the result I got selecting None.

I guess I wasn't really saying all those examples were skimpwear, merely that boob cling in general, that seemed to be everywhere, was actually lessened in those examples, some of which are skimpy or can be, and some of which aren't, which is something I've been glad to see.

I do agree that boob cling continues to be a nagging problem, ESPECIALLY in things like the example Kattey pointed to.

But I think there are some bright spots recently where I've been happy to see less of it. Restless (which as a tank/undershirt works well to become less skimpy in other contexts) the Paige Dress the Cherish Top and the Jogger are several I like, and even the super skimpy the Grecian Goddess outfit seems to be trying to be all about non-cling.

Hi there...
I don't know this skinset, but going on an ideal checklist: 'ambient' values other than 0 on the surfaces or translucency can cause the glowing (check also subsurfaces for the same parameters). Same with high specular with low glossiness. Finally bounce and ambient lights (especially if they are set for no shadows) should be used very sparingly to avoid unreal self light illusions.

The test render looks quite nice, but i would tune down the bumpmap a bit for her face to soften the skin look.

Interestingly enough the Monie character that comes with the starter/pro bundles uses the V5 UV maps and Ambie from the pro bundle uses the Base Female from G2F.

First time I actually buy something "Girl" related, as the character is going the more realistic route in the G2F line (like Aiko 5 did before as Genesis character). Pro bundle it is for me :) I think it is one of the better pro bundles overall and shy a couple outfits - which I probably won't use - it is still very, very good value for me. Love the hairs and all characters in there especially and simply adore the Paige Dress :)

I was never a big fan of The Girl before - don't do toon/anime style renders - so wasn't really paying that much attention to the new release until I got the coupon yesterday. Went and looked and between Diva Hair
and Paige Dress I was pretty much sold. I could just get the hair and the dress but the promo images for Diva Hair sold me on the figure as well. They kind of reminded me of a Rita Hayworth or at least some starlet of that era. Very much not toon/anime.

Then Rawart had to go release RoboGenII to add to the meltdown.

These new releases are making G2F much more compelling and I really like that all of this stuff works off the free base G2F and doesn't require V6 or something silly like that.

Oh well, there goes all my extra spending money for the month.
