Thank you for purchasing our products. As Richard said, you need to first apply the Geoshell or Geoshell (depending on if you're also going to apply the blood). This product makes more sense if you apply it from the Content Library (Pane) rather than the Smart Content (Pane) since it has been organized in a way to help you apply things in the correct order (though I've tried naming things to follow that order. So you'll find the product in the following path within your content library
DAZ Studio Formats > My DAZ 3D Library (or Connect) > People > Genesis 8 Male > Materials > FenixPhoenix > Gunshot Wounds.
There you will find several folders with the correct order of how to apply things. You can find the readme with instructions here: http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/read_me/index/80852/start You may need to refresh several times for it to show up.
I've downloaded that as a PDF which I'm attaching here for easier access.
Basically, you should NOT apply any of the materials/LIE presets to the character. Instead, you should apply the SubDivision & Geoshell wearables to the characters. Then you would apply the materials (skin color), LIE Presets to the appropriate Geoshells.
Here's a simple rundown of the process:
- Apply a subdivision to your character (you can do this once you're ready to render), but remember that the higher the subdivision, the better the wound morph will look.
- Apply "MGW 01.1 Wound Geoshell Wearable" to your character.
- Select the Geoshell Wearable (which will be invincible) and apply "MGW 01.1 Wound Geoshell Dark (or Light or Midtone) Skin Iray Material" (choose the skin color that best describes your character). You can go back and apply another skin color afterward, so don't worry too much about this choice.
- Apply the "MGW 02" wound LIE Presets (as many as you'd like) to the Geoshell.
- That's it!
- If you want to apply the Blood, you'll do the same but process but you would need to load the "MGW 01.2 Blood Geoshell Wearable", select that and apply the appropriate presets to that one. The Blood presets also have utilities to apply if you want to make the blood glossier or lower displacement to avoid clothing pokethrough.
Let me know if you have any more questions or if something wasn't clear! :)
Update: attaching a better readme. This is for the male(s) product, but it should work the same for the females.
"Youth Morph" slider equivalencyThe WHO provides charts showing statistically expected height and weight vs. age of infants:
Boys: https://www.cdc.gov/growthcharts/data/set1clinical/cj41c021.pdf
Girls: https://www.cdc.gov/growthcharts/data/set1clinical/cj41c022.pdf
As you can see, there is quite a bandwith. I found it better to just have a reference photo and dial the shape in until it looks appropriate compared to an adult.
If I need a character of a certain height I create a cylinder length 1m and scale it to the desired height. Then I match my figure using the growing-up morph.

What version of DS are you running exactly (all 4 version sections (X.X.X.X)?
Is it a release version of a beta version?
Do you have Daz Studio installed in C:/Program Files, or some other custom location?
What is an example of a plugin that is currently working for you in that version of Daz Studio (Mesh Grabber, UltraScenery Accelerator, or something like that)?Apologies for the late reply @barbult, the funeral/mourning observances lasted until yesterday and it was only then I finally had time to do Daz stuff (at least for now: my brothers and I are meeting tomorrow to talk about other matters related to Ma's passing).
Here is the information:
- Daz versions running- 4.12.1.118 Pro Edition 64-bit / 4.15.0.2 Pro Edition 64-bit
- Both are release versions; fwiw I have never run a beta version of D|S
- D|S has been running in a custom location from the time I started using this computer; D|S is in the D drive because the C Drive is SSD and does not have as much storage
- Info on the plugins that I currently use:
- Randomizable trees (works well in 4.12)
- Grasp Helper (works in 4.15 only)
- Gescon (problematic)
- Hedgemaker (problematic)
- Node positioner and grabber (works in 4.15 only)
- Mesh Grabber/morph editor/ rotations add on windows (works well in 4.12)
- Ultimate Zero (works well in 4.12)
- Ghost Dynamics (works well in 4.12)
- XTransfer (works well in 4.12)
- dForce Companion (works well in 4.12)
- Render Queue (works well in 4.12)Help with eyelashes bug (have picture)Catherine3678ab said:
Really? G8F = Genesis 8 Female which is the base figure for which your character is but a morph of.
Ahhhhhhhh ok thank you! =D
Rex HD + Toon AxoNot too surprising that Rex would overpower the Axo morph, but a fun experiment.
Clothing ThicknessTest it thoroughly before going too far with extra mesh for hems, etc. Spikes, and funky stretching are not desirable either. There's a reason most have been using single mesh all over the place.
The illusions for depth can be had using displacement maps, etc. Or maybe a gentle morph here and there that can be adjusted.
HeadShop 14 WIN with Gen 8.1 Support Submitted to DAZ (Commercial)Here are a couple of renders from one morph made on the Genesis 8 Male.
The product makes nice head morphs however when it comes to the texture maps it makes I would recommend avoiding "smiling with teeth showing" photos on the female figures. [unless you want all those textures to also be on the G8M maps] Also check the uvsettings if things don't look right esp. on G8.1 - base male and base female on G8.1 net one the G8 uvsets.
A few of the additional morphs [for the autosculpt feature] may not be exactly what one would expect BUT BUT ... if one makes morphs of each individual autosculpt morph then they can be applied after the main HS morph is returned to D/S and most of them work just fine then. There was one that required a little TLC - there's a video on how to remove unwanted morphs from vertices over on YouTube that makes the task very easy to do.
After making the morph, I dialed G8M back up to HR, subD 1. Oh yes, the eyelashes, same as before, unfit and unparent them before opening HS. After the morph is returned to D/S, edit the morph to "autofollow" etc., then reapply the eyelashes.
Initially the new morph loads with the .bmp which we can replace with better textures - HS makes a set of texture images. The face images will show edges ... the coloured smoothed ones do not ... the last photo shows them on the face, ears, lips, and torso/head. No seams showing. To get the actual face on a seamless set of textures will require a little work in an image editor [which is normal of course].
And the photo of the male attached is "not a real person" ...
Mirroring a joint corrective morphFor anyone having the same problem if it is a negative bend:
you drop the controller morph/pose in Propperty hierarchy > your JCM/MCM > controller > 1st stage. Then under the morph in 1st stage > Attribute > Scalar ; set the number to negative.

An angry rant (but not exactly at DAZ)Thanks to everyone for the information so far. Yeah I think those sorts of overlapping UVs just aren't going to work when going from Studio to Substance Painter. I did export a plane from Studio, created a tiling texture for it in Substance Painter, and properly applied that texture back onto an object that would not have worked if exported directly to Painter, so I'll just do that if I absolutely have to retexture something that can't make the transfer.
HeadShop vs Face TransferI prefer Face Transfer - https://www.daz3d.com/face-transfer-unlimited
because it has an Interactive License, which I have bought, as well,
so I can use the results of Face Transfer in other programs (Unity, Unreal,...) if I wish.
I have also purchased https://www.daz3d.com/face-transfer-shapes-for-genesis-8
with its Interactive License, to further refine results from Face Transfer.
HeadShop vs Face TransferWhich gives better results? Which is easier to use? If you knew before you bought what you know now which one would you get? Or... both?save D-Former results as morph in DS 4.5?Interesting, I was thinking it was very basic with no morphs...but in the vendor folder there are a lot! (thank goodness)

Mine new one got put here:
..\content\data\Nikisatez\ONBSG3\One Piece Bathing Suit\Morphs\3doutlaw
...and none of them are showing up?
The mystery deepens...I need to check my directory manager
OK, I closed it all down, restarted and my morph shows up. It's like rebooting a PC. I should always try that before posting. Thanks

Necro post, but why have yet another thread about this :) Adding a morph to the one piece swimsuit. Spawned it, it works, now save as support asset, morph asset. Works. Then reload a new copy of the boathing suit and it is not there? What am I missing?
What is telling the new copy of the bathing suit to load the morph from your morph folder?
Where are the PA made morphs for the bathing suit located?
