Sad day.
RIP
R.I.P
I've truly been saddened by this passing. We all get sad when a favorite entertainer passes on but after this sunk in and I researched it on line and believe this is NOT a hoax I broke down a cried listening to Major Tom..... My heart is a little bit broken just now.....................
Major Tom was my first choice for the moment too, Rich. Maybe do a render with the Tin Can.
RIP.
We can be heroes just for one day !!!
I am devastated I would just like to thank Him for all His Music, Art and Unic Spirit Rebel
...wow, this is a shock and real sad moment.
At a loss for words
I think I am doubly shocked because he released an album last week. He is someone who has been very much a part of the sound track of my life.
RIP Mister Bowie, you will be missed...
I just saw this on the news, we've lost one of the greats and it's a total bummer.
69 is too young by today's standards as well.
He was part of my world and I've allways appreciated him and his work as one of the pillars of modern Pop/Rock music culture. He will leave a hole in the air.
"Ground Control to Major Tom
Ground Control to Major Tom
Take your protein pills and put your helmet on
Ground Control to Major Tom
Commencing countdown, engines on
Check ignition and may God's love be with you"
R.I.P.
I think the great thing about that was that it wasn't released as "This will be his last album" It was simply released as a New David Bowie Album.although they must have known. RIP Ziggy Stardust.
Just caught the news on the radio, half-asleep and thinking, "why are they talking about David Bowie?" and not quite able to process the fact that he could be dead. Didn't like all his stuff, but he was a bit of a giant and a great loss.
A moment of silence is good, but it should be followed by hours of Bowie's music.
He started his Thin White Duke tour in Glasgow with 4 consecutive nights, and I was lucky enough to have a press pass to take pics for an article, so I went all four nights. Amazing doesn't even begin to cover it.
My favorite Bowie tracks? Not the usual ones, I'm afraid. The Bewlay Brothers (Hunky Dory), Always Crashing in the Same Car (Low), Oxford Town (Outside), The Dreamers (Hours) and Never Get Old (Reality).
Favorite acting role - Tesla in The Prestige
mac
I do not wanna hear the slow boring ones, this is the Bowie I loved
So far, I think my favorite tribute to him is the one on TLo...

My daughter used Jereth's Rant (from the end of Labyrinth) for her audition piece this year. We were both very sad to hear the news this morning.
I need headphones that go up to 11
God bless you David.
I got the notification on the BBC News app walking out of the school gates after dropping my kids off. It literally stopped me in my tracks and I had to walk the half mile home while trying not to cry. Then I fell apart in front of my ten-year-old who was going to school later than the rest of them. Even she could see the irony in the fact that we were watching Arthur and the Invisibles yesterday.
Still, it gave me an excuse to blast Blackstar and annoy the neighbours.
A great selection of songs there, and I second Tesla - a standout performance in an underappreciated film. Not one I can watch with my kids though, so it'll have to be Labyrinth when they get home from school.
F* cancer.
Listening to Bowie's music and thoughts shaped me in a lot of ways. I grew up with him as a child to adulthood. No one else in the world is like him and he will be sadly missed. It's not often I cry these days, but listening to some of his songs earlier had me choked.
So long Bowie, thank you for everything.

very sad
Is there life on Mars?
:(
I think i played "Omikron" just because of his music
I got to see him live for the Sound + Vision Tour. A truly fantastic performer and a singular talent.
He knew. The album was said to be his gift to fans as a final farewell.
Woke up in the middle of the night and read it online... RIP Mr. Bowie :(
