Nothing in os or qg appears fixed or updated. The extra offer is up to 2 qg items 40% off w/ highway new release.

Maybe if you add in the Canadian offices of Taffi, but otherwise 132 feels a bit high.  Why?  Because if you Google Map DAZ's Salt Lake City location,  you can see that there are at least five other business sharing the same building and, checking a SLC commecial leasing resource site, I can see that at the last update a good bit of the building was currently vacant, including two full floors, while the building's facilities also include an Atrium and a fitness center.  With that in mind, also consider that are only approximately sixty parking spaces adjacent to the building, and while there IS a parking structure across the street, there are also a ton of other business directly adjacent that are also using it..  So, given that we're repeatedly told no one is in the offices overnight or on weekends, I don't see where they'd have room for that many people, so my guess is that the SLC office is probably closer to  60 people than 100.

Does working from home happen in the computer business in the US? It does in the UK, and as a result many businesses get rid of their premises and freeload utilise the office space in people's homes. Means busnesses can have lots of staff yet have a small building.

One large manufacturing company I work with has 7000 office staff nominally based at a site, while they only have 1500 desks which are booked by the day. A number of the people I work with have never entered the site they are nominally based at, all inductions, training & contacts are done online.

just checked their linkedin as well, which also shows 131 employees. so i would assume that number is pretty accurate. I'm sure a lot of people work remotely too. But none of it matters really. My point was just that they are not a small operation, they have enough employees that things should be running smoothly, at least as smooth as renderosity, and yet here we are day after day, week after week with the same issues.

Maybe with MakeTafi included, but Daz itself is a very small portion of that.

maybe the store glitches are features not bugs. some kind of hype building, getting people to talk about it. checking back the forums several times a day. they create a captive audience and it works as seen here continuously. other sites people check the sales for maybe 10 minutes a day to see if anything on the wishlist is on sale, and to see if any new items are of interest. But here it is an all day gabfest of what is going on with the daz store, and they create a virtual event everyday of the sale. it works so why would they change it?

There's a QG discount today, so hurry up and grab yours if you haven't already!

that discount is pretty much useless for most of us that have shopped out QG 2 weeks ago, and its still the same crap. Crap to me but maybe not someone, but it is what it is. Ther thing that gets me is that the sales emails and pages here still reflect that everything is actually working when we know its not.

It depends on the office culture. Some places are fine with work from home, some encourage it, but there area also a lot of businesses where the culture is obsessed with the socialization aspect and are convinced people can't work effectively as a team unless they're physically in one place, and also many managers who want their employees where they can micromanage and hover see them.

But if 131 of those 132 are not in the web-related departments, and the rest is on vacation... ;)

What makes this all so frustrating is that Renderosity, which has far fewer employees (about 35), seems to have no problem managing a store of comparable size that does the exact same things as DAZ's store tries to do, but without the constant issues that cripple the DAZ shop.  Clearly running a store like DAZ CAN be done efficiently while running multiple daily sales and juggling multiple levels of discounts with a huge roster of PAs creating new products constantly.... and Rendo also maintains a massive section devoted to freebies AND a large customer gallery section, all while paying well enough that we're constantly seeing vendors bounce back and forth between them and DAZ.

Work from home is a good way to keep a valuable employee from whom you need limited or intermittent productivity when you can't farm out that job to contractors/vendors or add those tasks to another job/position.

As someone who has managed people pre- and post-COVID, in my experience the difference in productivity between work-at-home and in-office ranges from a relative few who do just as much in either situation, to a much larger number of people who accomplish far too little on an at-home day. Those unproductive at-home days have a knock-on effect on co-workers who were dependent upon someone else finishing a task, not to mention the effect on the bottom line of paying wages/salary for work not being done.

Annoying micromanagement can be accomplished remotely with phone calls, text messages, emails, redundant memoranda, etc. and, like hovering, points more toward the anxieties of the manager than it does to the quality or quantity of the employee's work. The time spent responding to the manager takes away from time spent on useful accomplishment.

As to Daz being unable to roll out periodic changes to their website in a timely manner and without glitches, I'm not sure what needs to be mentioned now that hasn't been stated before. If you have committed to daily sales promotions featuring new releases every day, you would need to have those changes completed (including thorough testing) the day before (probably earlier than that). If you are committed to changing the site to new promotions on weekends, you would need to have people working seven days a week. Being "on call" over the weekend isn't the same. Quick Grab and the Outlet Store change infrequently, so failing to roll out the changes smoothly when the lead time is so far in advance means that failure can only have explanations, not excuses.  Am I crazy to suggest that the 12:00 am (US) Mountain Time rollover makes little sense when apparently no one is in the office to immediately address problems?

Rendo doesn't run the kind of complex sales that DAZ does. If all your sales are just a straight percentage off, as pretty much all Rendo sales are, then opportunities for things to go wrong are vastly reduced.

Rendo does do stacking percentages off.

More importantly, Rendo can filter on sales categories. That means the categories are built into their web database. This would make it easy for them to do the complex sales Daz do with consistency. They just choose not to. And given how long Daz has done these sales, there are only a limited number of patterns that it should be possible to fit together with ease.

True - the crossreferences are sometimes staggering here, for nice discounts.

Perhaps the person responsible for the "End July" sale was sacked for miscalculating the final percentages that could be achieved. And now nobody is left who knows how to run the website... frown

I can't say Rendo or any of the other 3D hobby sites are running without a hitch these days. I also don't think I can get into the details on that. But this here problem is a big head-scratcher, We don't know what's wrong, so we just have to wait patiently and see what develops.

Well, of course there are glitches at any store, but whereas Renderosity may have one or two hiccups a month, the fact that DAZ's near daily issues require a problem report forum thread that's as heavily posted in as DAZ's is pretty telling.  Likewise, Rendo's coupons always work on the products that they're supposed to, there are no high pressure four hour only flash sales with unspecified beginning and end times, and I can't remember if I've ever seen a sale there where the language of the promotional text was so convoluted as to be difficult to understand exactly what is being promised.. very much unlike DAZ.  Oh, and do we want to get into the subject of Cloudflare Errors?  This is not to say that Rendo is perfect by any means, and Rendo's slightly higher prices, their lack of a return policy as good as DAZ's, and the lack of DIM ready product files are three major reasons that I'm more likely to wait a bit longer on purchasing a product over there than I am here at DAZ.  I'm also not crazy about their policy of forcily retiring products that fail to hit certain sale levels, and I know that customers who try to get on the site using VPNs are having issues.  Sill, if I'm ranking the overall pleasurability of the sales experience at each site from this customer's view, I'd say that Rendo usually averages around an 8 while DAZ hovers closer to a 5.

I don't know how the Outlet store is populated, but there are over 600 items for $0.99 and another 1000 for $1.99 in the main shop (higher prices like $3.49 and $4.99 could be filtered), most with that Outlet flash on the corner. (I know that the flash is not always diligently applied, but the prices speak). Sort by price and happy shopping.

It's the old selection: when the store put in place the new selection, for some reasons, it didn't apply outlet pricing on the new outlet items but kept outlet pricing on the old ones.

couldn't they just remove the non-discounted stuff so if PAs on sale, people could at least get that discount

    Fixed that for You.

I would guess that quite a few people do prefer a simple, working sale with less % off to one that promises %%% off but isn't working as intended or needs a half workday to get fixed.

Steam offers significant discounts and fixed promotional seasons. Each product's promotion has a countdown timer, so you don't have to guess whether the same promotion will happen tomorrow. Other stores also have countdowns.

This place practices mysticism; all promotional periods, banner promotional code expiration dates, and website malfunction reasons are all left to "guess."

I generally only buy at rendo if I have a coupon. And even then I do so extremely rarely. Prices are always too high there. I don't mind the crazy sale structures here... when they work. When they don't, I don't buy here, either.

sooner or later all these errors and things taking weeks to fix will affect their customer base. If this store software is so complicated, it would seem to me a smart company would put something into play that isn't so complicated. Keep it simple stupid has always been sage advice.
as far as rendo being expensive, I dont see it that way. Overall, most new products here are over $10. Even pose packs are higher now. Some texture packs that are DAZ originals are in the $8 range. Yes, the discounts can bring things down, but they usually involve spending more cash to get them. The one thing rendo has, different types of products, which helps round out your collection.
anyway, its surely about time to get the store fixed.

Yes. Should be restored to working order from backup and fixed offline.

It does. Just spent some $400 otherwhere that might have ended up here - especially if the "End of July" coupon would have shown up a couple of hours earlier.

Now there are some 70 items in the Outlet store that look interesting, but, well...       August is done with.

Can the Dev team at least pin a message with an update? An ETA perhaps? A confirmation at least that the QG and OS are not going to change in TOS, that they are going to be fixed and will be the same terms as before regarding price structure? Because right now I am holding off on a getting a monthly membership until I find out what is going on. We are all in the blind and for all we know they could change the terms. And If the terms of OS and QG change that would affect whether I get a membership. It's really the most important part of the store to me and the most important reason to get a membership. I rarely use tokens, I rarely care about the monthly freebies, the bread and butter is the discount on the OS and QG.

    A very personal impression.

Usually (!) base prices here are quite a bit higher here than there. The only difference is the sales. But only if they work. What they often don't do from the start and sometimes not at the end.
