Christmas in July Sale Discussion

A thread to discuss the 'Christmas in July' sale.

One thing I noticed is that the punch card rules appear a bit stringent this time. It looks like you have to purchase something every day to maintain the max discount.

the lack of Christmas stuff is also ironic, now would be a good time to buy it ready to render in time

I already whined about the free gift in a couple of threads

Yeah, I'm also no impressed with the free gift being just a texture set and thus requiring the purchase of another item. I'll pick it up anyway but not download it.

If I recall correctly, it was always "buy something every day" for Christmas. If there's something new, it's that you don't lose discount and have to start over once you miss a day.

Not sure is was Christmas but I remember a time when you needed purchases on three out of five days. So you could miss a day and still have the full discount.

I did just buy an Outlet item in the hope it counts toward a punch

    was waiting until Friday

I realize it itself won't be futher discounted

if it was over $1 it should count.  Only gift cards are specified as not counting for getting a punch.

A purchase today will get you a punch tomorrow.

And they say advertising these days isn't as creative as it once was!

That was this year's March Madness, I think.

    MM sounds right.

Regarding today's freebie, I lucked out because I did have the top. I picked it up early June as a cheap buy-in. But I still prefer freebies to not be texture add-ons. Maybe if it's a case where an outfit is free 1 day and its add-on textures free the next.

But even that can feel low effort. There was a deal last fall (I think?) where the freebies were simple things like a leaf shaped dish 1 day, a texture for it the next, and square dish the third, etc.

Waaah! You had to remind me.

With all the reports of missing punches, missing/wrong discounts, etc, I am glad I don't have the money to buy right now.

Cheers! I was more making a joke about the ceramic critters - I made all of the freebies last year (or whenever it was - I forget now), but I don't have the distinct impression folks weren't fond aha! We live and learn

Your beach chairs are excellent and very useful for beach vacation renderings these days. Thank you very much.

Strangely, I just had to start putting jumpers back on - so I may have missed the ship there

The Beach Chair and Crystal Ball are greatly appreciated but so much of the stores offerings make it really hard for me to shop now. I don't buy female content, and most of what apprears now is that. My Daz+ membership expired 3 months ago because nearly everything they released each week was female clothes or characters, it was a stress trying to spend my coupons each month when there was so much I had no use for.. I've got 2 tokens about to expires as there is nothing I want to buy, so the Beach Chair and Crystal Ball are a breath of fresh air.

I loved the critters, especially the mouse, dishes, textures and whatevers. The mouse fit right into one of my renders. The chairs and the crystal ball are cool. Thank you so much for your skill and love you put into all of these.

I thought the textures were fine since the base trays and dishes were also free.  And those little trinkets were nice, too. A whole month of freebies was a lot for one PA. And I offer a belated thank you for all of it.

I'm really happy with today's sale- Chris Cox is one of the Daily HoliDaz Deal PAs. That alone made my day, but I did add a couple more things to my cart.

The discounts are nowhere near as good as they were in June, but the free gifts are great. Thanks, Censored.

  • @censored, I love these freebies, they are beautiful. Can't wait to play with them. (Busy week but today I'm off).

Th rest of the sale, I've not found much except for the terror bird. Thinking about grabbing some OS/QG items until I have 3 punches and then buying it.

Again, big applause for the PAs that provide the Daily HoliDaz Deal models! Today, for once, there was nothing for me, but so far I have made a good catch every day. And of course many thanks to the PAs who give us the great freebies! First of all Censored, who have contributed the most to this so far. Much to my joy, because I love their models.

The wand looks amazing. However... DAZ hasn't added any form of download link in the product library page....  Yet.

    Regards,

    Richard

Thanks for the kind words, folks!

I let them know about the installers, and I believe those should be up now or shortly aha

I'm a bit sad by how uninspired the wand Main looks; for the life of me, I couldn't make it look good with the time I had aha
