@ kyoto kid : Re "mayo" based dips.

The days when name brand means better quality are long gone. The next time you are in a grocery store look at the ingredient list on the lowets priced dips. You might be surprised.

I think Richard H and a few others might remember my post here several years ago when I discovered the following:

Highest priced (Kraft) was vegetable oil.

Mid priced (Plains) was vagetable oil and sour cream.

Lowest priced (Shur Fine) was sour cream.

You may find the same to be true where you are.

...nah even the local low cost and store brands where I live use either Mayo, egg yolks, or hydrolysed Canola (basically margarine - yuk!).

    Sour creme is the best

Unfortunately don't have Shur Fine up here. May have to just figure out how to make my own instead.

Another fave I can't seem to find is that vinegar based coleslaw I used to love when growing up in Wisconsin. All the slaws here are made with mayo as well.

Ack, feel I live in the wrong location as I also cannot eat salmon which is "the" fish of the Northwest.

If you want it for a dip, try Mrs. Grass' Vegetable soup mix in sour cream.  Makes a very tasty dip for broccoli and green pepper slices, carrots, even potato chips.  Simple to make, too.

    Dana

...yeah, there are a lot of different recipies around.  Need to find ones that use more natural ingredients and a lot less salt as most instant soup mixes usually have a high sodium content (the Mrs Grass soup mix has a whopping 2,400 mg of sodium per packet, in fact, the first two ingredients listed in order on the package are Salt and MSG)

Yeah, but you're not going to eat the whole bowl of dip in one sitting...are you?

    Dana

...I'm on an extremely low salt diet. I use very little if any in my cooking.

I find that I type too fast sometimes and don't hit the spacebar quickly enough and get wordsstuck together.  sometimes I get a space after an apostrophe, and then I have to go delete that space, and put one in after the rest of the contraction.  But sometimes I get double caps, too.

...I hate this new site software.

OK first I had most of a post written when suddenly everything was deleted and not saved as a draft.

Second (which was the point of my post) I accidentally put both of the PC freebies in my cart before logging in. OK so when I did login, this is what I saw:

    1. There were two items indicated as being in my cart on the cart icon.

    2. when I went to the cart, it indicated the cart was empty.

    3. when I went back to the store and clicked on one of the items it indicated it was in the cart.

So here we are a couple of years since the new site software went live and it still is screwing things up.

Again this is not an upgrade as an upgrade is supposed to improve the user experience.

The This Site Software is Still A Lemon Complaint Thread

This is supposed to be the pop Christmas radio station but I think it is playing traditional Christmas music.  Unless it is pop artists singing traditional Christmas music.

On other news I found my Rapunzel hand cream on my desk of all places.  Why there?  no clue.

I am not sure why it is called pop music.  Maybe short for popular?

I tried to cancel an order which included a purple k machine for my mum but it already got shipped.  Not sure if my mum wants it or will use it.   Ugggghhh!

I better get to work now.

Work your way over to the new thread
