...heading over to friends' place in a bit for their annual Alice's Restaurant Massacre party.  No turkey, but a lot of other good "non-sleep inducing" eats.

Then Packers and Bears (the "classic" rivalry) later this evening. Another "must win" game on a very short week.  Hope there's a pub open to watch it at.

..ack, all G2/G3 characters 55% off.  G3F morphs at 6$ and change. Hmmmm.  Still need skins though as old ones won't work and I don't have the zlotys to purchase a lot of different characters just to have more than the default one.  Wish they came out with a "skins only" pack.

...well checked the account, Still had my November 6$ coupon so got the Head & Body morphs as well as the kid (Josie 7) since I will probably be working with her the most.  Didn't bother with the Expressions as those are all presets and supposedly the new facial mesh is a lot easier to work with.  Probably the best deal I'll get on all this, as with my PC discount, it came down to almost Fastgrab prices.

20$ and change, biggest purchase I've made in months.

Well have to bugger out, will be back later tonight.

Morning. Stiff breeze with a chill in its wings trailing small round white clouds like cottonwool cannonballs  in its wake painting the sky blue and leaving gllistening glass tower tops in ots wake - the calm, I guess, after a rwo day storm :)

..ugh Packers lost at home. to Da Bears. Still wondering how an "offsides" call (whch is usually  a free play for the offence) can be whistled dead. Cost Green Bay a Touchdown that probably would have won the game.  Hate it when the officials are the ones to determine the outcome.

It's only once a year, and besides, Mr. Scrooge may have had a scare last night and might give you a raise.  Oh,... wait..., that scene is for Christmas. blush

...always wondered  why don't they make Ethernet cables with a male connector on one end and a female connector on the other (like an extension cord)?

To connect my workstation to the cable in the room in, I have to go out and purchase a junction, pair of splitters, or multi port switch as the lead does not reach to where my desk is.

Haven't been able to download and install any content or Daz updates for over a month (including the 4.9 beta as that can only be DLd with the DIM) and I don't look forward to screening all the Windows updates that have most likely backed up.

...ahh, think I see the flaw with spell checking.  Seems anything with three letters or less is not recognised as a word hence why dyslexing words like "the" or "if" is never flagged.

    ...that's weak.

How long does it need to be? The router isn't that far from the computer, but the direct route goes across a doorway so I have a very long cable going round two and a bit sides of the room to connect them (I can't recall how long - at least 10m, maybe 20m though tha sounds rather a lot).

...believe it or not, only about 2m.  However that means placing the main box and my desk by a window (which I don't want to do for both glare and environmental reasons) so that all the cables to the displays and other peripherals reach. The router itself is downstairs. I can connect to the router's wireless on my notebook but the workstation does not have wireless capability so it needs the hard connection.

Morning. Sun rose and set straightaway into a mess of ugly grey overcast that doesn't look like clearing any time soon and a mob of small birds hopping around our garden that seem to be torn between eating breakfast and going to sleep :)

Has the laptop got an ethernet port you can share its connection with ?
