Vendors and products coming and going

There seems to be a lot of new PAs, PAs from other stores, and so forth, coming and going, as well as products just disappearing from the store. We find this out from the experiences of the customers.
Why doesn't DAZ , as part of good customer service, let us know when new PAs arrive, leaving PAs, and discontinued products. ?

FOMO is a great motivator. Shoulda, coulda, woulda...
not understanding what you're saying here
I agree. While I am sad to see people close up shop and leave - a big, happy, healthy marketplace is good for everyone - if circumstances lead to it, there are many PAs for which I would immediately think: "Oh, so-and-so is leaving on (today+2 weeks from now?) Bummer! ... Better check to see if there's anything they have that I might have overlooked."
It is always better to support the PA's while they are here, then there is less chance of them being not here anymore.
truethat
except FOMO doesn't work if we don't expect them to leave. if they wanted to use FOMO they would let us know a few days in advance. so its not a strategy being employed at all.
...a few have given advance notice which allowed us to purchase the items we wanted before they disappeared or went to "inactive" status on the wishlist.
An advance notice here or in the PA Commercial Products forum for even few days is always appreciated.
i think Daz should as a professional courtesy offer to do a 3 day banner sale or something like that for PAs if they decide to leave (providing they are leaving on good terms of course). I think not everyone sees the mentions in the forums. its easy to miss notices in here. it would go a long way to keep both customers happy and keeping PAs on good terms should they decide to come back some day.
Thank you to all the artists who were willing to give us a heads-up before leaving. If there were no clauses prohibiting artists from issuing departure notices, then it's clear that we didn't pay enough to be considered "customers valued by artists." But couldn't DAZ have given us prior notice? Many game and film platforms give us a heads-up before removing content.
Perhaps many artists don't even frequent this forum, and they won't get answers to their questions in commercial posts. I think there's room for improvement in the communication mechanism. Look at Steam; before I buy a game, I check the reviews. If I see a customer asking a question but not receiving a response from the developer, I simply won't buy it. I've bought many such items here...
I want to say thank you again to the artists who gave me reminders before I left, and even more so to the artists who often provided answers to my questions about the products here. The artists' attitudes largely determine whether I make a purchase and whether I'm willing to pay a higher price within my means.
I have heard of platforms informing customers when product is removed and unavailable to the customer anymore but your purchase remain in your product library even if the artist leaves. I don't think any platform regularly informs everyone as a vendor leaves. As a matter of fact, I learned accidently of a company that stopped its collaboration with Target by stumbling apon a brief memo by the vendor; Target doesn't even have a departing vendor section.
Oso was another one.
it could be a lot of customers just dont care if someone comes or goes. They buy what is here.
I would rather be curious why PAs leave, as the platform is free so I see no reasons. Perhaps because DAZ requires exclusive ownership of the assets, if a PA wants to sell in other shops.
Could be a number of reasons.
I left my Rendo store as they started requiring vendors to upload new products more often than I could (they may have changed that since, I don't know). I'm no longer an 'active' PA here at Daz, though my older products are still allowed to stay on sale. Not sure if that'll change though.
I keep him in my wishlist because I hope some day to buy him still.
some left because of negativity/hate directed at them and or their products lost their enjoyment in what they do been there myself
just to be clear
I am actually vehemently against the use of undisclosed AI in DAZ3D or other 3D markeplaces
and would not likely buy an AI generated product
just because I use AI doesn't mean I want to spend good money on AI generated slop
any more than I would want to be sold a dupe as a designer product
not agaist dupes either but deceptive marketing
So where is your active store now then? It would be nice to see some of your more recent products.
Just a reminder not to speculate on things we don't actually know.
if that was replying to me I wasn't speculating I have actually had conversations with others including vendors and witnesed some pretty nasty arguments here and elsewhere and it has happened to me both online and inreal life (including physical viol;ence at me) no I'm not a content creator but considered it but after often reading some negative comments are for even just creating some content I copuldn't handle that myself I've been as low as you can get lower
it's also not speculation when the former DAZ PA has explicitly said it on social media
Thanks, but not currently active anywhere - if I had the time, I'd make something for my Daz store. Many of my old Rendo for-sale products are up on my RenderHub as freebies though (link in sig).
I love your Compact Cyberpunk Apartment Series and if you ever want to revisit that world I will buy it. All your products are excellent.
Thanks :)
And yeah, I have ideas, just no time. I was thinking of an underground/basement level to the apartments and a few other ideas, but teaching (my day job) leaves me mentally exhausted lately. Plus I'm working on my second novel (part 2 of a trilogy), which is also stalling for lack of time and energy.
I'll pay $$$ for someone to invent a time compressor
why would daz want to motivate its vendors to leave by giving them a closing down sale...
That's an interesting way of looking at it. Would it motivate a vendor to leave? They'd be leaving anyway. Such a sale gives customers here one last chance to get items they want and it gives Daz some extra money from the leaving. It benefits the vendor, too. But that's more a side effect than a goal.
I suppose the decision to give such a sale would depend on the quality of the relationship between Daz and the vendor. 3Djoji and Oso got sales. Not many others that I recall.
Oso didn't have a sale. He just announced his store was closed, because some lamented not having any warning.

I noticed Luthbel's Steampunk Archibald was inactive in my Wishlist. Any word why it was pulled from the store?
