4.2 .64 Issue

in Daz Studio Discussion

Each time I open DAZ Studio 4.2.64 the screen goes on forever showing preparing screen when nothing is in screen! Is this normal or do Ihave a problem? Cheers

    That isn't a version number (versions are four numbers separated by dots. 4.2 would be a beta, 4.5.x.x was the first general release and we are now up to 4.24.0.4 for DS 4 (major version four, minor version 24, build 4). Is DS meant to be loading a scene, or is it meant to be opening to a blank sene?

    Thank you for your reply. It is opening with a blank screen. DAZ Studio is 4.24.04. I just re downloaded and installed again in case it solved the problem! It did not! Just for reference this computer is also running DAZ Studio 6 and has an NVIDIA 5060 ti graphics card! Cheers

    PS. On my other computer which has a 16 gig NVIDIA 4060 ti graphics card there is not any problem! Just wondering if the 5000 series card might be the problem! Cheers

    Daz 4.x cannot, does not, and will not use a 50xx series NVIDIA card. Ever.

    I was conviced that was limited to rendering. It appears 50xx can't even handle the viewport in DS4 ? If so you can try to plug the monitor to the mobo instead, that should use the integrated graphics for the viewport.

    It is limited to Iray rendering. Viewport and dForce should be fine.

    Yes, I have a 50x0 card and can run DS 4 (and do CPU renders using Iray, just not GPU)
