Maybe in a variation of Schrodinger's cat, Richard is both inside the box and outside the box at the same time, thanks to quantum superposition, and it's only when the box is opened after the danger is passed that the paradox is resolved, and he emerges from it unscathed, irrespective of whatever might have happened to the box while it was closed.
Richard related: I was thinking about the book and film 1984 and the posters they have 'Big Brother is Watching YOU'' and I thought it might be an interesting future idea to have posters 'Richard is watching YOU', which he does of course
. Then I thought, maybe the reason Richard is so often at the scene of a disaster is that he is actually trying to stop them, and thet getting arrested or taken in for questioning is just a cover, so that he has chance to talk to his law enforcement guys without anyone realising he's actually one of them. Maybe he secetly has a Catmobile and chases the villians, rather than being a villian.
I would have to say if Richard is trying to stop disasters, he's not terribly good at it based on the number that happen, but who knows, maybe Richard's world would be ten times worse if he wasn't there. Think of the forums if Richard wasn't here, it would be like Dodge City and 'The Purge' rolled into one.
/me looks impressed with the convoluted reasoning
/me looks less impressed
Richard the inept confidential informant?
Ah, too bad for you; her heart belongs to Richard. You can still watch from afar and appreciate her intellect and beauty, though.
Brings to mind the saying "easy come, easy go".
I you ever left the forum, we would all probably want to leave. You are the one who answers technical questions and keeps the chaos under control. I think background well described what the forum would be like without you - not a pretty or fun place to be! I would be devastated to lose your comments in this thread.
It Threw Me
As Richard lay stunned on the ground, Milly and her mother came around the corner, headed home from shopping.

Milly: Richard! What happened to you, you poor thing?
Richard: I came into town to sell onions, and my bike threw me. It was just like when my horse threw me in Dodge City, except this time I didn't land on my feet. I'm OK. My bike must have tripped on a tumbleweed, just like my (now your) horse. Now I have to figure out how to get home. My legs don't really reach the bike pedals very well.
Milly: Oh, Richard, I can show you how to ride and reach the pedals!
Milly to the rescue. I like the continuation of the story it looks like the evil onion might get what he deserves.
I was going to render a joke page from a comic 'The Adventures of Catman and Moggie' but I should probably post that elsewhere ( and I really should work on projects I have on the go that are half completed instead).
Nice continuation of the story, @barbult
Great thinking, @background, I also should not post images here.
I wonder if Milly is going to aquire a new bicycle.
I wondered the same thing, but it looks way too small for her. She is growing, I guess. You are the same size as always.
I am optimist reliably told I am slim https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/9531271/#Comment_9531271
Nice work by Artini.
You are especially slim when rendered in Filament, as you noticed. One could say skinny. I used to be skinny. Then I met chocolate..
Look, No Paws!
Milly: Richard, the trick to riding a bike that is too big, is to stand on the pedals. Don't sit on the seat. Luckily you have a girl's bike so there is no bar in your way.

Richard: I've got it now! Wheee, I can go fast. I have an excellent sense of balance. Look, Milly, no paws!
Watch Out!
Milly: Richard! Look where you are going. Watch out for the stairs!
Uh-oh!
That's an appropriate response to many renders of Richard, isn't it!
Uh Oh!
Richard had already built up a good head of steam when he reached the edge of the stairs. It was too late to stop. Milly couldn't run fast enough to grab him. Over the edge he flew.
Well at least he's not imagining a devil with a pointy trident waiting for him.
Feathered wings are better for chasing birds (I hope that incentivises Barbult to save me in the next render).
Richard has to hang in midair a little longer. Life got in the way for a bit.
If that is it being unhelpful then I hope that it can be brought back into line shortly and smoothly.
It's annoying when I can't render you 24/7
. I'll be back to rendering soon. We must resolve your current dilemma with the bike and the stairs.
Flip
Richard flew over the handlebars and did a flip, as his bike clattered down the stairs ahead of him.

Thanks to Other Richard for the washing pose, which I modified just slightly for the flip here.
he looks like a furry prawn
Hmm. You're right.
Triumph
After two full forward flips, Richard sticks the landing!
Richard: Wow! I'm an excellent Gymnast! I think I should try out for the Catlympics.
Send for 'Bicycle repair man!" I could include a link to the Python sketch. but it turns into a joke political rant, so better not.
Hmm, well I guess Milly will not be getting a new (undersized) bicycle after all. Though at least I can say "I am ready for my close-up, Miss Milly".
Milly could go anf get her camera, and then ask you to do it again, so that she can get some dramatic pictures for 'show and tell'.
The 'prawn' pic brings to mind one of Billiy Connolly's comedy stories 'Ivan the Terrible' The gist of which is that a little Glaswegian guy is in a wresting match with Ivan. Ivan is much feared and has two signature wrestling holds, The 'Half Pretzel' which breaks his opponents back, and the 'Full Pretzel' which kills the opponent. At the start of the match the crowd are behind the little guy because , well everybody loves the underdog, but then! Ivan gets the little guy in the Half Pretzel!, and the crowd are saying "Oh Nooooo" and looking away, Suddenly Ivan flies across the ring and collapses in a heap. The crowd goes wild and the little guy is interviewed about what happened.. He says "Ivan got me in the Half Pretzel and I could feel the life draining out of me, just before I was about to pass out I saw this 'willy' right in front of my eyes, so I thought 'Why Not?" and sank my teeth into it as hard as I could. It's amazing the burst of strength you get if you bite your own willy".
I apologise for the off topic content, but that's what you picture brought to mind
