Possible Download Server Issue

3DIO3DIO Posts: 342

Wasn't really sure which thread to post this in since it's got nothing to do with current sale offers.

I've just been using DIM to download my characters to this system, with every download successful apart from CJ's Anya which, for some reason, no amount of deleting the partial download and restarting DIM will fix, so perhaps it's an issue with the server that particular product is stored on.

She was purchased some time back and she's a very small download, so I can't imagine why else that particular download would keep failing.

Bad to worse.  Just tried again after tea and it's gone from dotted red to solid red (screenshot attached).

@3DIO, when I run into an issue of this type with DIM, I first have to make sure I have removed all traces of the partial download from my files. (This is also true for corrupted files). I don't have CJ Anya but I looked her up and this is the ReadMe link of her files: https://docs.daz3d.com/public/read_me/index/92217/file_list. Make sure none of those are still installed on your DAZ 3d content.

Then I do a manual download of her zip file and place it into DIM's Install folder.

Then in DIM I would type SKU::92217. That should force DIM to pull the manually downloaded folder up. Now I may be doing it a hard way, but it works mostly. Unless there is something wrong with the zip file itself. If there is, you may need to submit a customer service report for help.

Cheers memcneil70.   I've gotten so used to DIM, it didn't even enter my head to download it manually, but I just tried and that won't work, either  :-D

It did reveal the problem, however, and no prizes for guessing the cause (see attached).  Interesting it's a different error to what happens on the forum, and odd that it effects only that specific download.  Perhaps it got bored with screwing-up the forums and has decided to screw-up the downloads as well.

Since it's an  "Unknown Error"  this time, I can't even hazard a guess!
