Either script is run in DS, just download the file (using the link above the code) and drag it into the Viewport.

How do I point the content to my external hard drive?

It keeps going to my intern hd.

I did what you said and draged the script into the viewport

You need to chnage the path, in DIM or in DS, then the script can be used to make the othe appliication match that. In DIM it is in the instalaltion tab of Advanced Settings, from the gear icon at top-right; in DS it is Edit>Preferences>Content tab, click Content Directory Manager.

In Content Directory manager you expand the entries for the Current Directories, Daz Studio Content Directories (and Poser Content assuming you have any of that), highlight the path you want to change, and click the Edit... button under the Directory heading on the left. Select the folder you want to use.

Are you getting any kind of error message? Does anything at all happen? If you post

    %appdata%/daz 3d/InstallManager

into a file browser address bar then you should see a log file in the window that opens, does that gie any information? Is it updated with the timestamp of your last attempt to run DIM?

I think so not really sure!

Should try and factory restore my laptop?

Also I can not take out the stuff from the external hd until I can get the stuff uninstalled from the DM, I am in such a pickle right now.

  • Richard HaseltineRichard Haseltine Posts: 109,961

Please post a screen shot of whatever is appearing when you try to run DIM. Don't do a factory reset or anything, you'd then have to redo everything else.

  • SaphirewildSaphirewild Posts: 6,712

Well I ended up redoing the laptop anyway because somehow or another the 4T Ex HD started giving me fits.

When I did redo the laptop I was able to get into the 4T Ex HD and delete everything and now I have to redo everything anyway!

  • SaphirewildSaphirewild Posts: 6,712

I know I have to redo everything now but I think it was worth it I am going back now and reading everything and hopefully I will do better this time!!

Go to the Installation tab of Advanced Settings, click the + button to add a new destination in the bottom section and set the path you want, then make it the default (or just select it in the Ready to Install tab in the main window)

Can you give a few examples, and any pop-up or leg messages associated with the failures?

Oh, I see. Do you mean you have restarted DIM five times, or just clicked the retry button five times? Sometimes it seems to get stuck and a fresh start may help - either rght-click and choose the otpion to delete partial packages or just plain restart DIM.

Ok to answer your question I tried restarting the Installs 2 times and then 3 times restarting DIM!

Maybe I am still doing something wrong I am so confused right now!!

No, that looks like a server or DIM issue, though it may be caused by something local to your machine (e.g. security permissions, disc space on the drive you are downloading to, folder permissions). I would check that you have space to spare on the drive with the package Archive (the downloads folder) in the Downloads tab of Advanced Settings

Ok I did a clean reinstall and it is doing the same thing and I have 4T Ex HD there is plenty of room for it. not sure about the rest of the stuff like permissions but it is not saying anything about that not saying anything at all just not installing.
